Breaking the walls
Author's pov-
Purv didn't move.
Divya's fingers were still resting against his cheeks, her touch light but firm. He wasn't used to this-someone standing their ground, refusing to leave even when he tried to push them away.
Her presence was intoxicating, overwhelming. And yet, for the first time in years, it didn't scare him.
But it should.
He caught her wrist gently, pulling her hand away. "Divya... You don't understand."
She tilted her head. "Then make me understand."
Purv sighed, leaning back against the car. His grip on her wrist loosened, but he didn't let go. "I've spent years trying to bury what happened. Trying to be someone who doesn't feel.
Divya watched him carefully. "And has it worked?"
He let out a dry chuckle. "Clearly not."
She took a step closer. "Then why keep fighting it? Why keep pushing me away?"
His grip tightened, just slightly. "Because if I let you in, Divya, there's no going back."
A shiver ran down her spine at the way he said it. As if letting her in was both a warning and a promise.
Divya swallowed. "Then don't go back."
Purv's gaze snapped to hers, something dark flickering in his eyes. "You don't know what you're saying."
"I do."
His breathing was uneven now, his chest rising and falling as he stared at her like she was something he couldn't figure out. Something he didn't know whether to hold onto or run from.
And then, as if some invisible thread between them snapped, he pulled her forward.
His lips crashed against hers, rough, demanding, filled with every unspoken word, every fear, every desire he had buried for so long.
Divya didn't hesitate. She kissed him back with equal intensity, her hands gripping the front of his shirt, pulling him closer.
She could feel it-the desperation, the need, the war he was fighting within himself.
Purv's hands slid down to her waist, holding her firmly against him. His fingers dug into her skin, not enough to hurt, but enough to tell her he wasn't letting go.
The kiss deepend, and for a moment, nothing else existed. Just them. Just this.
When they finally pulled apart, both of them breathless, purv rested his forehead against hers.
"This is dangerous," he murmured.
Divya smiled slightly. "Then let's be reckless."
Purv exhaled, his fingers tracing circles on her waist. "You're impossible."
"And yet, here you are."
He chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Yeah. Here I am."
For the first time, he wasn't running.
