Fuck this shoulder. I groan as I rotate my arm, reaching to rub the tense muscle near my neck.
“Let me help.” Sophia’s soft hands smooth over my scarred skin, then she squeezes me hard enough it makes my leg twitch.
“Too much?” She follows the torture with the sweetest kiss on the back of my neck that almost fixes the need for me to pee myself when she clamps down again.
“Jesus, baby. You hurt me so good.” I have to force myself to relax under her ministrations. I know I’ll feel better afterwards…but shit.
When I struggled to lift our boy on that side, I knew I needed to start working it to try and build some strength up where the shrapnel tore it up.
Especially now that baby number two is on the way. How will I hold them both?
“I have an idea.” She dives into a knot with her thumbs that makes my fingers go numb.
“Anything,” I squeak, gripping my knee until I feel like my nails are going to bleed.
She giggles and placates me with a nip to the side of my throat.
“I was thinking about all that land that Rosalyn gave to us to use, well the ranch. What if I talked to Sawyer about putting our herds up there? It would take a bit to get all the fences fixed and ready. I mean, we might as well use it.” Her arms rise and fall with a shrug.
“You know I’ll support whatever decision you make.” Please stop hurting me. “It isn’t my ground though. Is that a Cade question since they technically own the rights?” Don’t stop. I lied, it feels better.
Pain.
She leans to lick my earlobe and suddenly I don’t feel anything except the blood rushing to my groin.
Fuck, she always knows how to play me.
“It would give enough room to expand. Unless none of the kids want to stick around.” She pauses, offering me a brief reprieve.
When she steps around me and swings her knee across my thighs to straddle me, any memory of ache disappears.
“The way I see those kids playing farm in the dirt piles, I doubt they’ll all leave.” I smile down at my beautiful wife, then lift my hips to grind against her skimpy shorts. “Hell, we can have enough to run the whole thing.”
She giggles, raking her nails down my chest. “I can’t get any more pregnant.”
“There’s always tomorrow, baby,” I growl, finding her lips with mine.
