A Note on Mental Health

V ampires may not be real, but domestic violence is. And as you learned from Willow and Gage’s story, it can happen to anyone. I’ve included some resources below if you or someone you know may need help. And if you’re a survivor, please remember that trauma and abuse may change the brain but so does therapy. You are not permanently broken, you are just different. And in time, you will heal.

8 00-799-7233 (National Domestic Violence Hotline)

h ttps://ncadv.org/ (National Coalition Against Domestic Violence)

h ttps://www.loveisrespect.org/ (one of my favorite resources to teach teens about healthy relationships)

If you feel unsafe verbally asking for help, I’ve included a blank space here. My hope is that you can write a note, give this book to a trusted person, and tell them to check out chapter 17.
