Chapter 13 #4

Hopping up, I pushed past him as he laughed.

Flipping on the light, I let my eyes adjust to the brightness while I went to the tub.

Putting the stopper in place, I set the water to my desired temperature.

Tossing in Epsom salt and bubble bath, I went to the bathroom closet and grabbed a big towel, placing it inside the towel warmer.

It had been a freebie from a brand deal I’d done, and one of my favorite partnerships.

Besides the money, I loved keeping gifts from the promotions I’ve done.

Tunan’s cologne alerted me that he’d made his arrival in the bathroom. He was chewing on one of the fish fillets, and even that was sexy.

“Can I get undressed?”

“Yeah.” He bit down on the fish that still covered my taste buds. “Go ’head. You actin’ like I ain’t had my whole face is yo’ ass. I done seen every inch of you, Glow.”

“What if my panties dirty?”

“I wouldn’t judge. Why you thank I asked you to come wash yo’ ass?”

“Fuck you, Tunan.”

I pushed the door closed, but he was quick. Swallowing down his fish, he pulled my back into his chest.

“I’m just fuckin’ witcha.” Lowering his head to the side of my neck, he took a whiff. “You smell good… Like always.”

“Nope. You already fucked it up,” I tried saying as normally as possible, like my being in his embrace wasn’t turning me on.

His nose nuzzled my neck. “Real shit.”

“What I smell like then?”

“Shitt…” He took another whiff. “You smell like… positive pregnancy tests and my pockets being emptied from buyin’ anythang yo’ pretty ass blinks at.”

Shoving my elbow into his hard abs, he grabbed my arms and held them at my side.

“I’m just fuckin’ witcha, my baby.”

Jokes or not, I was getting on birth control immediately. There was always truth in a joke. Lee Lee was enough for this house.

His finger grazed my thigh, sending electric jolts straight to my pussy.

I had to pray this desire for this man off of me.

Tunan and I didn’t know each other very well, but our bodies were like magnets whenever we were near each other.

I’d never been so sexually in need. I mean, I liked to get a good nut, but I could live without it.

With Tunan, it was just different, and I hated it, especially since he was my play husband.

His fingers pressed into the side of my thigh, with his nose still in my neck.

When he trailed it up, pushing past the shirt that came right above my knees, my legs trembled.

He reached my panties, hooking them around his fingers, and pushed them down.

Once they were down far enough for me to pull my feet through, I stepped out of them.

He then pulled the shirt over my head. I was now standing in my birthday suit and cold as hell.

“Get in the tub, ’fore I bend yo’ ass over the sink.”

Please, bend me over.

He placed a kiss on my neck and let up, and a part of me cried on the inside. I wanted him, but I would never say it out loud.

“You ain't ready for dat yet. We’re gonna get you on track, and den, we can resume all sexual activities.”

“Tunan, please. You ain't all that.”

I’m lying like Mama now.

I eased into the tub, the hot water doing nothing to put out the fire between my legs.

With my shirt and panties in hand, he went to the hamper and lifted the lid. He dropped the shirt in and paused at the panties. Placing them to his nose, he held eye contact as he inhaled deeply. If I didn’t care about my hair getting wet, I would have submerged myself in the water.

“Smells good as fuck,” he said before dropping them in the hamper.

“You’re nasty.”

“As a muhfucka, love, but you knew that.” He winked.

I let my arms float in the water as he pulled a blunt from his pocket. Tunan smoked like a chimney, much like the rest of the men in the mob. He flipped the switch for the air vent before walking to the tub.

“Ma dukes mind smoke?”

“She smoked for years after she left my daddy. Stopped when she got a cancer scare.”

He nodded. Instead of sitting on the toilet, he slid down the wall near the tub’s faucet and planted himself on the floor facing me.

My chest rose as I watched him run the lighter down the length of the pre-rolled marijuana.

Soon, the funk of his drug filled the air as he pulled on it.

With his legs stretched in front of him, smoke covered his face, and the way it danced in the air had me biting back a moan.

How was it that everything this man did was a turn-on?

I watched as he took puff after puff, his eyes getting lower and redder.

“Real shit. I went through some shit with my ex. I nursed her back to health, and she did me dirty. Told myself I was done with shit like dat.”

My body tensed, and I was glad I was underwater so he couldn’t see my reaction.

“I’m not asking you to nurse me back to health, Tunan. I’ve been dealing with this since I was a teen. I got this. I just let the baby and all that get to me.”

His red eyes studied me. He was so damn fine when he was high.

“Ion care if you got it. I wanna help you, Glow.” He pulled on the weed again and blew the smoke away from me.

“I fuck with yo’ mean, wishy-washy, horny ass.

I ain't sayin’ I'm tryna rope you in some shit you’n want, but I want to make sure you're good. You got too much potential, Glow. You’re already great, baby.

We just gotta get this shit behind you.”

Perching the blunt between his lips, he reached for the water and grabbed my foot. Placing it on the side of the tub, he began a deep-tissue massage on my sole. My head flew back, and I could no longer fight my moans.

“You want me to fall in love with you so bad.” I joked.

“Nah.” He pushed his thumb into the arch of my foot. “I’m gonna make you fall in love with food first, and den we can work on us along the way.”

“I’m… I’m scared of you, Tunan. Not in a threatening way, but you see what happens to me when I’m stressed.

It’s the reason why I avoid relationships or anything serious.

It's why I never really found a career path. Any little thing triggers me. Social media works because I don’t let the comments get to me, and for the most part, my Pretty Eaters are nice. ”

“Lucky for you, my baby, we’re in a marriage.

You’n got no choice no more.” He chuckled.

“Real shit. This is our life now, Glow. We can make our own fuckin’ rules.

I can’t lie, I’m focused on gettin’ my paper right.

So sometimes, I’ll be distant. I just got out, so I’m gettin’ my life in order.

Plus, I’m the newest mob member. I’m tryna figure out what dat means.

I won’t crowd your space or no shit like dat, but I’ll be here when I can.

I’m gonna get you on track, my baby, because you deserve dat.

It’s the least I could do, especially since you did me dat solid and took my last name. ”

He switched feet, so I twisted my body to give him a better grip and to make myself more comfortable. Steam rose from the water as smoke still floated around from his blunt.

“So, I didn’t scare you away?”

“You scared me, for sure. But not away. You see I’m here.

You ain’t gotta push me away because you scared of the ‘what ifs’.

I know now, Glow. I know ’bout yo’ condition, baby.

I watched you seize four times and flatline once.

Ion never wanna see you go through no shit like dat ever again.

I ain’t gone stress you. I actually wanna make yo’ life as easy as I can.

Ion got all the answers, but I can feed you, fuck you, pay your bills, and let you live in dat soft life shit y’all girls talk ’bout.

Hoes is the last thang on my mind. You ain’t got shit to stress ’bout cuz I ain’t on shit.

I’m just tryna get my money right, baby. Like I said… We doin’ us—our way.”

“Are date nights a part of us doing us?”

“Is that what you want?”

I nodded.

“Den we gone have date nights. A couple of times a week, if you want.”

“One day a week is good. I know every weekend will be too much with me working and you doing… mob things.”

“Whatever you want, my baby.”

We locked eyes as he massaged my foot. If the mob didn’t work out, he could open his own spa for sure. With his good looks and skill, he would make a killing.

Knock, knock

With his left hand, he removed the blunt from his lips, lifted the toilet seat, and tossed it in.

“Hey! I’m headed to the hospital. Your sister just got up. No, you cannot go. I need you to watch the baby. Your daddy is about to pull up. Thanks for the food, son; it was amazing.”

“You welcome, Ma!”

The door closed back, and I closed my eyes, saying a silent prayer. The doctor had already told us Glee was in the clear, but hearing that she was awake eased some of my worry.

“We gone be aite, Glow. You gone be aite. Wash up. We on babysittin’ duty.”

He placed a kiss on my big toe, and then sucked it into his mouth before I could snatch it out of his grasp. He stood, laughing.

“I’ma go get the monitor.”

When he was out of the bathroom, I eased into the water as far as I could go without getting my hair wet.

“Dear God… Please don’t let this man be too good to be true.”
