Chapter 4

And she was gone. She was right. With the way she danced, he believed she was more experienced, but it didn’t take away from the fact that she blew his mind.

And the knowledge that one time wouldn’t be enough.

It had been the way she moved, as if unsure of what to do and he noticed the pain in her face when he entered her.

There were so many ways he hadn’t had her yet and things he wanted to try with her.

And now that he knew he was her first, there was a primal need to be the one to show her everything she could know on the subject of sex and help her learn her body and what she liked and what gave her pleasure.

And that wasn’t a good thing. Especially when she didn’t even know of his mob ties and that he didn’t do relationships.

He looked down at himself. “Shit.” He hadn’t put on a condom. This night went from great sex to a bad finish and to an even worse ending. First he didn’t even know what compelled him to tell her he didn’t cheat. It was one thing he couldn’t stand and didn’t do, but she didn’t have to know that.

He could have just said yes and left it at that. But he had to explain himself like a lovesick fool. Which he wasn’t because it was just a one-time thing like she pointed out. But back to the matter at hand. No condom. He doubted she was on birth control, but she might surprise him.

Dante cleaned himself up and zipped up his fly when Enzo came in, followed by Gabe and Lucca.

“What did you do? Take a leak in the office?” Lucca slid into a chair.

“Nope.” Gabe sniffed the air. “Smells like straight up sex in here.”

“You were supposed to be up here to talk with Madison, not fuck some girl. Did she turn down your deal?” Enzo stood in the doorway.

“No, she didn’t turn down my deal.” Dante sat down behind the desk. “She told me to tell you to call her with her schedule for the next three months.”

“So she left and you had some girl come up.” Enzo pulled out a chair and turned the calendar around and flipped through it.

“No.” Why did they care that he had sex in the office? It wasn’t the first time and wouldn’t be the last time. He also didn’t want to say what he and Madison had done. It was private and just between the two of them.

“No way man. You fucked ‘no touch’ Madison?” Gabe leaned forward.

Dante’s jaw tightened.

“No answer now, man?” Lucca straightened out his legs.

“Dante, man. Tell me you didn’t fuck her. Please.” Enzo looked up from the calendar, his eyes pleaded along with his mouth.

“Why is this a big deal?” Dante didn’t understand. And why was Enzo worried? Did he like Madison? She said she wasn’t seeing anyone, but he couldn’t imagine anyone not wanting to date her.

Even from the little bit he knew, he wanted to know more and if he wasn’t lying to himself, which he was.

He wanted to maybe see where things lead Madison and him.

He could see turning this thing into a booty call until he got bored.

Which was why anything more than what they had done would be a bad idea.

What would she do when she found out she slept with a mobster?

“Is she open for business?” Lucca shifted in the chair.

“Yeah, let me know when you’re ready to pass her around.” Gabe sat down on the sofa.

“You don’t get a turn with her,” Dante answered, teeth clenched.

Madison wasn’t like the girls they would pass around when they were younger.

Those women knew the deal. Madison was different.

He had never had this possessiveness before, even for Monica when he dated her, and that sent alarm bells off in the back of his mind.

Bells that he knew he was going to ignore.

“Damn, I knew she had to be good. The way she worked the pole.” Gabe kissed his fingers.

“Wait, which Madison is this?” Lucca looked between them all.

“The one who doesn’t have to follow club rules,” Gabe answered.

“The ice queen?” Surprise registered in Lucca’s eyes.

“That’s the one.” Gabe nodded and looked at the sofa. “You didn’t fuck her here, did you? Don’t want none of your fluids on me. Now hers, I wouldn’t mind.”

Before Dante knew it, he was out of his seat and had punched Gabe with a quick jab that stunned both of them. As boys, the cousins had fought, but now that they were grown, they didn’t fight like they used to.

“What the fuck, man.” Gabe held his jaw.

“Sorry, man, but don’t comment on Madison like that.

” He couldn’t, no he wouldn’t stand by and let them disrespect Madison like that.

She wasn’t like the girls they would share.

She was special. Which was why he should leave her alone, but he wouldn’t.

He knew deep down that he had to have her.

She had gotten under his skin already and was in his system.

All he had to do was fuck her out of it and everything would be fine. He wouldn’t be thinking what if?

“You can’t punch everyone who says something when they find out.” Lucca stood and walked over to Gabe.

Dante turned around. “They won’t find out; it’s between me and Madison.”

“We found out,” Gabe muttered and moved his jaw around.

“By chance. It stays here.”

“Fine.” Gabe put up both hands, palms out. “Won’t say another word.”

“So what is this deal?” Enzo asked as an emotion flickered across his face that Dante couldn’t quite place.

“Same one you had with her, only she is exclusive to il Signore.”

“Wow, you snagged her with exclusivity. That’s going to drive the numbers higher if she can only be seen here. I know some guys follow her to different clubs,” Lucca said.

“Exactly.” Dante clapped Gabe on the shoulder. And held his hand out.

“My man with a plan.” Gabe clasped hands with Dante and let go. “We good.”

“Enzo, what’s Madison’s address? I forgot something.”

Enzo’s eyes narrowed. “What did you forget? I can just tell her when I call with the schedule. What is it?”

“None ya.” Why was Enzo so concerned? He acted like he was her father or something.

“Round two?” Lucca stepped back out of punching range.

“No. It’s just not any of your business what it is.” Dante wasn’t going to tell them they had already done several rounds or that he had forgotten to use a condom.

“Here it is.” Enzo pulled out his phone and sent it to him. “I hope you know what you’re doing.” His tone said he didn’t approve. Dante wanted to know why? Was it because he wanted Madison? That had to be it. But did she want Enzo back?

“Is there something you want to tell me?” Dante sat back behind his desk and looked at Enzo. “She said she wasn’t seeing anyone. Are you saying something is different?”

Enzo’s jaw tightened. “No. As far as I know she is free.”

The tightness in Dante’s chest loosened. “But you wanted her?”

“Yes.” Came out like it was said between clenched teeth.

“Then why didn’t you make a move?” Dante was confused. None of them were shy around women. They had all had plenty of experience with the opposite sex.

“I was waiting. Giving her some space, and she hadn’t been back to the club for a while.” Enzo stood up.

“Space from what?” Dante pushed his chair back and stood too. Dante knew you could have a relationship without sex. Was that what she had with Enzo and then they broke up because Enzo wanted more? Then why did she have no problem sleeping with him?

“I don’t know.” Enzo sat back down and put his head in his hands. “She also doesn’t know what type of business we’re in. From what I remember in high school, she didn’t mess with anyone doing anything bad.”

“Doing anything bad like what?” Dante walked closer to Enzo.

“She was like a snitch, but not in a complete bad way.”

“And you have her working for us?” Gabe sat up on the couch.

“She doesn’t know,” Enzo said.

“But what if she finds out?” Gabe asked.

“What does not in a bad way mean?” Dante was concerned, especially with the information he had been told.

“Like she didn’t try to get people in trouble on purpose, but it might just happen.”

Was Madison the informant?

“That’s why I was giving her space.”

“But you have her number and address. You could have called her or stopped by.”

Enzo jumped up. “Like a stalker?”

“So she wasn’t interested in you.” Gabe stepped in between them.

“No.” Enzo gritted out.

Dante knew that had to suck. To want someone who didn’t want you.

“She friend-zoned you?” Lucca moved to Enzo’s side.

“No.”

“It sounds like you had a crush on her that she didn’t return. You can’t be mad that Dante hooked up with her. He didn’t take anything from you. She was a willing participant.” Lucca clapped Enzo on the shoulder. “You know that right?”

“I see how it is.” Enzo looked between them all. “I have some things I need to go check on. I’ll catch you guys later.” Enzo slipped past Gabe and Lucca and out of the office.

“Don’t worry. I’m sure he’ll cool off.” Lucca sat down again.

Dante knew Lucca was right. Enzo just needed some time.

“What are you going to do now? Did you want to go down on the floor?” Gabe asked.

“Naw, I got something else to do. Feel free to stay, but I’ll catch you later.”

Madison finished up the newest outfit she had made when there was a knock at her door. It was late and she didn’t expect anyone. The neighborhood wasn’t so good, but she could afford it, and she hadn’t had any problems with strangers coming to her door.

They knocked again, and the door shook. At first she thought it might be a neighbor, but why would they come over so late? And they wouldn’t try to break into her place.

“Go away, or I’ll call the cops.”

“Madison, open up, it’s me.”

“Dante?” Madison was confused and tried to ignore the flutter in her heart. She looked around her place. It wasn’t ready for company. She had design things out and sketches covered every flat surface.

“Yes.”

Madison hustled over and opened the door and wedge her body in the open crack. “Why are you here? I believed you were a criminal.”
