Chapter 6 #3
“Yeah, her pops bet the business and her. I had collected her, but when I bought her to the all hands meeting last night, Dad decided I needed a wife.” Lucca rubbed the back of his neck.
“Is she on board?”
Lucca shook his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. “I don’t think so. Her dad hadn’t even told her yet. I’m supposed to pick her up and move her into my place to get to know each other for our engagement period.”
“How long is that?”
“Three months and then we tie the knot.” Lucca’s hand moved to his temple.
“Is this what you want?” Dante leaned back and brought his hand to his chin.
“You know I can’t refuse Dad.” Lucca’s hands came down on his thighs with a sense of finality.
“Right.” Dante nodded. This was some serious shit.
“Anyway, besides my news, what’s yours? I hope it’s better than mine.” Lucca stretched out his legs.
Dante would process what Lucca had said later. He hoped the Don didn’t plan on matching them all up. He had missed an all-hands meeting. That wasn’t good. A picture of Madison flashed in his mind. He wasn’t ready to give her up.
“It’s not. You know my contact in the FBI’s financial unit gave me a tip that they are in the last three months of a sting operation against the Bianchis. They are planning to bring us down on money laundering.”
“Shit. So what is the plan? I’m too young to go to jail.” Gabe set his cup down. “But I’m serious, remember when Tata went in? The Mertuccis carved his face like a pumpkin. When he got out he couldn’t see out of his left eye after that run in. You know they run that prison.”
Dante ignored Gabe’s too young to go to jail comment. But what he said was true. The Mertuccis were the Bianchis’ rivals, and if they went in they would come out in a body bag.
“I’m not planning on going down for this. I don’t know what you guys think.” Dante took a sip from his own cup. He had to admit, Lucca’s coffee place was good. He trusted his cousins, but not enough to tell them he was cleaning up his mob-tied business and that he had a job offer on the table.
“Nope,” said Gabe.
Enzo and Lucca echoed his sentiment.
“So what are we going to do?” Lucca asked.
“Here is my plan.” They all leaned forward as Dante explained to them what they could do to clean up the business’ books and the best way to divide them up so that they each had what they wanted.
“So the one thing we need to do is figure out who’s helping on the inside, take care of them, and use our contacts to make our side look lily white. ”
Something flickered over Enzo’s face at the mention of a rat, but it was could have been because he was in charge of security and the fact that someone had either gotten in or turned traitor under his watch.
“We need to find out who it is as soon as we can,” Dante said. If they were still there, they could give up their new plan to the Feds.
“I’m going to have to tell Dad that someone’s been turned,” Lucca said.
“They had to have planned this for a while. They could have come in months ago with the new recruits,” Gabe said.
The room got quiet with the heaviness of the situation and the possible outcomes.
Dante’s voice broke through the thickness in the air. “I think everyone knows their roles. I have a meeting with Ed. I’ll see you guys tonight?”
“Yeah, I’ll be here.” Gabe threw his drink in the trash.
“I’ll let you know. Wifey situation and all.” Lucca gave a small tilt of his head.
Dante looked at Enzo.
“Yeah. I have a few things to take care of, but I should be here sometime before the night is over.”
Ed walked in as the guys left.
“What did you find out?”
“Looks like she has someone sick with cancer.”
“Who?”
“My guy hasn’t found out yet, but he will get back to me.
He’s chatting up a nurse on the inside. So far he has found out that she is a regular when he is in the hospital and they’ve seen them holding hands, but for the most part she sits by him while he sleeps.
He’s older than her, not like ancient, but not fresh out of college. ”
A stab pierced his chest. Had she lied to him and was seeing someone else? There was also the better blow job that she had given. Had she practiced on this guy after she slept with him?
The band around his chest tightened, and he struggled to take in a breath. She had cheated on or with him. He remembered Madison saying she didn’t know it could be like that. Maybe the guy only took care of his needs when he was with Madison, so she had never climaxed during sex.
They weren’t exclusive or even dating, but he would add that to what they were doing that they wouldn’t see anyone else until they were finished with each other. He planned to keep her so busy she wouldn’t have time to find someone else.
“But your sidepiece is smart and talented. Getting her Masters in Fashion Design and she is getting a chance for her work to be shown at fashion week for a chance to win a job at one of the top fashion houses.”
Dante was disgusted at Ed’s words and his stomach turned when he mentioned her as his sidepiece.
It didn’t make sense because all they were going to do was fuck.
It was just some itch they were scratching.
But she made thoughts he believed had died with Monica come back again.
But it couldn’t be. She didn’t know what he was a part of. They weren’t meant to be more.
He was jealous Lucca was getting married.
Dante had wanted the wife and kids with the picket fence and dog too, but what did he have to offer?
He was good with numbers. Numbers didn’t lie, well, maybe they did, but he could spot it.
He was more than just a numbers guy, but no one had taken the time to look past the mafia name.
Madison made him feel things that had died before, which was strange. They had only had sex twice, so none of what he was feeling made sense.
Besides, what did he have to offer Madison?
Nothing right now when they would need to work hard to avoid jail.
He shouldn’t see her again so he could focus on the task at hand, but he wouldn’t.
If he had to stay up all the nights that he wasn’t with her to be with her he would.
She was like a drug for him. Which was dangerous. Because he couldn’t let her go.
****
The next night, Dante was torn. He wanted Madison again, but he didn’t want to seem too eager. There was also the fact that she might be seeing someone else between the week when they had first had sex and last night.
He was too old to play the game of don’t see her until next week to make her think he could take it or leave it. He couldn’t leave it. But he knew one way to clear things up. He would propose his own deal so no one needed to be waiting by the phone.
They would be exclusive so if she was seeing someone else, she would need to break it off and they would see each other Thursday through Sunday after the bar closed.
They would have this arrangement for the time she was headliner.
Or at least until he stopped craving her body.
It would be four days a week until he got tired of her.
It might take a couple of weeks, but he knew it wouldn’t take three months let alone one.
They had exchanged numbers, so he shot her a quick text to come to his office after she got in. Then he tried to act as if was a normal day.
****
Madison entered the club and headed to the changing rooms to put her things in a locker. In the room were Amber and Brittney.
“Hey, how are you guys doing?”
They looked at each other and giggled.
“We’re good.” Brittney spoke for the both of them like normal. “We should be asking how you are. You should get checked.” Then they turned and walked away.
Madison was confused. It wasn’t like she was friends with any of the girls.
She tried to be, but they all didn’t get why she got out of club rules and it set her apart from the others.
She was like an outsider looking in. Even though Madison and Sabrina were friends outside of the club, Sabrina didn’t talk to her at the club.
She stored her bag and locked it up and then headed to Dante’s office. She knocked on the door.
“Come in.” His voice didn’t sound inviting. Had he moved on already and wanted to tell her it was over before it had even started.
She pushed open the door and stepped inside. “You wanted to see me?”
He looked up from his desk. “Yeah, shut the door and lock it.”
Madison’s sex tingled. Was he going to fuck her again in his office?
It would have to be quick, because she was needed downstairs.
The image of a quickie made her squeeze her legs together.
To go on stage with Dante’s cum inside her sounded hot.
Would he get turned on knowing he had fucked her and could fuck her whenever he wanted?
“Uh, sure.” She locked the door and turned back around.
“I had some concerns with regards to our arrangement.”
“The headliner shows?” She walked over to the chair in front of the desk.
He shook his head. “No, our other deal.”
“Oh ok.” She sank down to the floor; lucky that there was the chair to catch her. Did he want to stop it already?
“I wanted to make sure that we were exclusive. I won’t be sleeping with anyone else, and I expect you to not do the same.” He leaned forward over the desk.
What? “Ok.” Did he think she was sleeping with someone else when she had been a virgin only a week ago? She dry swallowed.
“Also I think we should have a schedule; we fuck Thursday to Sunday after you leave the club. For the three months that you headline for us. I mean we both feel this thing, and I think we just need to work it out of our systems. I could meet you at your place for the three months or less, to work it out.”
Madison was taken aback by the word fuck. She knew that’s what they were doing, but it didn’t sound pretty. “What happens if one of us has it out of our system before the other?”
“Then we go our separate ways. No hard feelings, business as usual.”
