Epilogue
Three weeks later the charges against Dante had been dropped.
Madison stood outside the doctor’s office and waited for Dante.
He had taken the position with the brokerage firm.
Madison was more comfortable now that she knew Dante had a regular nine-to-five.
She knew they would always be his family and in turn her family, but she was happy to be removed from that aspect.
Madison checked her watch. Dante was never late, and she didn’t have any messages on her phone. She took a deep breath. He wasn’t late. She was just nervous. This was their first prenatal visit, and she was excited to see their baby.
She looked around her surroundings. To everyone else today was a normal day.
Dante had given her the start-up money for her own fashion house, and she had been busy with that and getting things set up.
She and Dante hadn’t spent as much time together as they wanted.
She had done a half day of work, and Dante had taken the rest of the day off from work as well.
They were going to spend the time together. They had both been busy.
Home for a quick dinner and then fall into bed together. Madison was in charge of the wedding planning, and Dante was in charge of finding them a new place to live. Between that and their real jobs, they had not a lot of time left over.
“Hey.”
Madison shrieked a little. “You scared me.”
“Sorry, you were lost in thought.”
“Yeah, I was thinking. We’re already married, and I don’t need the big fancy wedding. So what if we just go on honeymoon instead since we never did that?”
“That’s a wonderful idea, Mrs. Bianchi. Let’s do it.”
“Thank you, Mr. Bianchi. Now let’s go see our baby.”
And they walked hand in hand into the office.
