8. Gigi
CHAPTER 8
Gigi
Just like my blind date with Pierre all those months ago, Zach pulled through once again. It has only been a week since he gave us the number of Lindsay, the realtor sister of his hookup, and for the last seven days, Lindsay has been showing us rental houses and apartments nonstop. According to her, she has a soft spot for young parents and will do everything in her power so that we can find the perfect housing for us.
“What do you think?” Luke asks the moment we are inside his truck and out of Lindsay’s earshot.
“Honestly, I love it.” I can’t hide my excitement. I feel my smile pulling my cheeks tight and the sound of my voice is higher than usual. “It’s near the restaurant, your gym, the campus…We don’t even need a second car for me. The apartment is smack dab in the middle of everything. I can just walk or take the bus.”
Luke smiles, but holds off on his answer, his gaze focuses on the road instead. After a few taps on the steering wheel, he finally says the reason why I really didn’t want to get excited for this place. “It’s kind of out of our budget.”
“I know,” I sigh. “We’ll find something else.”
“What if we don’t have to?”
“Did you magically list your grandma’s house and find a buyer who’d like to pay ASAP?”
“No.” He rolls his eyes as he smirks. The cheerful and playful Luke that I’ve been getting lately makes my hormonal body melt to the ground. I love him like this. Like he doesn’t have a care in the world. “But…okay, open mind, yeah, Gi?”
“I’m scared of what you’re going to say.”
“What if Kai moves in with us? That apartment is huge and it has three bedrooms. Kai already hinted that if we do end up living together before the babies come, he’d be open to renting it with us. He’s not too keen about looking for a new roommate, and he can’t cover the rent of our place alone.” Looking at me, Luke drives his pitch home with one more, very convincing argument. “It would look better on paper, Gi. His parents are willing to co-sign. The landlord would take one look at our application and pick someone else.”
“You’re serious.” I cock an eyebrow.
“Just saying.”
I don’t have much experience with sharing my living space with housemates. I spent most of my life being a latchkey only child. Aside from having Becca, things didn’t change much when Mom married Vince. The two of them were always working. But Becca was a child and Zoey is a girl. Living together with Kai and Luke sounds like uncharted territory. It could be fun, or I could be cleaning up after them round the clock.
“He’s okay with the babies?”
Luke shrugs. “He said as much to me at the gym yesterday. A and B won’t come until spring next year. He’ll only have to hear them crying for two months tops before he moves back home.”
It would be nice to have him in case of emergencies. Plus, it’s Kai. I know him. He’s my good friend. And the apartment was the best one out of everything we’ve seen so far. To new adventures…
“We can do that, yeah.” I already feel a smile forming on my face. “Just promise me you both won’t throw ragers or ignore me to play video games all day.”
Luke chuckles as he parks the car in front of my dorm building. “I wouldn’t dream of it, Gi.”
“I guess it’s official.” I feel Luke’s breath on my mouth as he bites my lower lip. “The three of us are going to move in together.”
“I’ll call Lindsay first thing tomorrow morning to thank her for the help,” I say, cupping his face with my hands. “She smooched us up real good to the landlords, too. She didn’t have to do that.”
Goodness gracious. Ever since the pregnancy, even something as simple as a kiss can make me wet, oozing with desire. If I’m honest with myself, I already felt the jolt of desire when Luke’s hand brushed the side of my neck before when we were talking with Kai. It was nothing. The guys were excited, talking about the move, and Luke looped his arm around my shoulders. When his fingers grazed my sensitive spot below my ear, I already knew what was on the agenda tonight.
Luke trails kisses down my chest and I use the opportunity to run my fingers through his hair. He never keeps it short anymore, and I know he does this for me. And fuck if this man and how much he loves me doesn’t get me wet even more. Tingles everywhere. All over my body, especially now that he’s sucking on my sensitive nipples, giving them both his equal, undivided attention. Tingles galore .
“Your boobs look really great, by the way,” he says, still rolling his tongue around one nipple while palming the other breast.
I laugh as I squirm under him. The B-cups are definitely an upgrade from my flat chest pre-pregnancy. The only things that fit me are my sport bras right now. “I bet you won’t say that once they turn saggy from breastfeeding.”
“Shut up,” Luke says with no bite. He plunges a finger inside my wet pussy before rubbing my clit, making me sag like my boobs probably will a year from now. “I’ll love them then, too.” His lips reach mine and he kisses me, the feeling of his tongue inside my mouth turning my brain into mush. “Because I love you , Gi.”
By the time the first wave of my orgasm arrives, I’m convinced that Luke and I are not like my parents. We’re amazing together. As he sinks inside of me, I’m almost certain the next time he asks me to marry him, I’d say yes. The second he starts promising that he’ll take care of me forever, on the precipice of his own climax, I know for sure that the two of us are meant to be.
