Chapter Four #3
Edward’s penthouse was in one of the city’s wealthiest buildings.
It was a two-story unit at the top of the building.
Ryan had expected the space for this gathering to be smaller than the Queen’s Isle house, but he didn’t expect it to be only marginally smaller.
They stood on the balcony that ran along the building’s perimeter, overlooking the city and the waterfront.
Ryan stood behind Callie and wrapped his arms around her.
She leaned back against him, looking out over the water.
“You’re pretty rich, right?” Callie asked suddenly.
“Sure?” Ryan laughed.
“But you aren’t Edward Kline rich, are you?” Callie continued.
“No,” he laughed again. “I’m not Edward Kline rich. Why are you asking? Are you looking for an upgrade?”
“Always,” Callie teased. She turned to face him as he kept holding her. “It’s just strange to me. I think my childhood home could fit in one of the closets here. Why would anyone need this much money?”
“It makes life a little more fun,” Edward said as he approached them. “And, I’m always available if you’d like an upgrade.”
Callie blushed. She hadn’t meant for him to hear her comments. Edward waved over a server and insisted they have another glass of wine, even though their first glass wasn’t finished yet.
“I didn’t mean to be rude,” Callie apologized quickly.
“It wasn’t taken that way,” Edward said, leaning in to kiss her on the cheek. “And if you think the closets are big, you should see my bedroom.”
“She’ll be avoiding your bedroom tonight,” Ryan said quickly, but he said it in jest, and Edward laughed.
“If you happen to be talking to Annie, please tell her I hope she feels better soon,” Edward told Callie.
“Annie?” Callie repeated. She hadn’t heard from her friend in days, but she figured her Annie was just busy.
“My request to see her tonight was rejected,” Edward said. “I was told she’s unwell.”
Callie’s heart sank. When the Night Service said someone was unwell, it could mean many things, and usually not a cold or the flu.
For Annie, the list was even longer. Callie suddenly felt concerned for her friend.
Annie never hesitated to call Callie for home care when she had the flu or wanted a ride to rehab, but this time she had stayed silent.
Callie could only think that her illness was drug-related and that Annie was embarrassed.
“I’ll make sure to check in on her,” Callie said carefully. Ryan slipped his hand into hers. They were thinking the same thing.
“I hope you will allow me a dance at some point this evening,” Edward said to Callie. “And Ryan, you may find the study on the second floor of interest later this evening.”
Edward excused himself to greet other guests, leaving Callie and Ryan alone once more.
“And is the study your interest?” Callie questioned Ryan, and he blushed.
“You’re always my interest,” he replied. “In which room is irrelevant,” he said, then kissed her.
“Good save,” Callie grinned at him.
They continued to enjoy the wine and several other drinks, and soon found themselves drunk enough to make decisions they wouldn’t make sober.
Ryan didn’t object to Callie accepting Edward’s invitation to dance.
Although Edward held her close, with a hand more on her ass than on her back, Ryan didn’t seem to mind.
She noticed a couple of times that the two men exchanged glances, but Ryan just laughed at the unspoken conversation they seemed to share.
After the dance, Edward returned her to Ryan and excused himself again. Ryan pulled her close for a kiss, but this time the affection lingered long after.
“Maybe we should find the study?” Callie suggested.
“Well, if you’re insisting,” Ryan said, and Callie playfully slapped him on the chest.
They headed to the second floor and found the door to the study.
Behind it, they found the room was well used.
Maybe it was the smaller space, but people seemed much more active this time.
There were several couples, fully naked, engaged in intercourse.
But there were also couples who had paired up, enjoying each other in groups.
Others were sitting around the room in various states of undress and engagement.
Ryan led her to a small sofa set off to one end of the room, and they were quickly offered new drinks by a server.
“This seems much more intense,” Ryan said softly to Callie.
They both watched the room for a bit, quickly downing their newest drinks.
Callie could feel her head starting to spin slightly, and she knew she needed to stop drinking or Ryan would be carrying her out.
She leaned over to kiss him, and he quickly pulled her close to sit across his lap.
She felt him hard between her legs already.
He grinned at her when she smiled at his reaction, and started to unbutton her top.
He slipped it off her shoulders, then stopped seeking her approval to go further.
She nodded, and he reached around her to unclasp her bra, which quickly fell next to her top.
His hands went to pleasure her, and she gasped when he started to use his mouth.
One of his hands found its way under her skirt, and she could feel his fingers stroking her through her panties.
A heat started to spread through Callie, and she knew she would need him inside her soon.
The various groans and cries of satisfaction coming from the room behind her were adding to her excitement, and she let out a groan, louder than she intended.
While she still could, she stood, pulled off Ryan’s shirt, then removed the remaining clothing she had on.
She stood in front of Ryan naked as he removed his pants.
He placed his hands on her hips, gently pulling her forward so he could kiss her stomach, then he moved lower, kissing her legs and inside of her thighs.
She thought she might lose her mind; she wanted him so badly at that moment.
Nothing else mattered, and there was no one else in the room as far as she was concerned.
Ryan had her complete focus. He wrapped his arms around her waist and lay her on the small sofa, moving between her legs.
But he didn’t give her what she wanted right away; instead, he teased.
She groaned in frustration as she tried to push her hips up to have him.
Grinning at his success in fully aggravating her, Ryan waited a moment longer, then drove forward.
“Oh god,” Callie yelled out involuntarily.
