Chapter Seven
Callie debated going to the party, changing her mind a dozen times as the weekend drew near.
Finally, she decided to go, which seemed to ease Ryan's tension. He suggested they not stay at the house and booked a room at a local bed and breakfast. The party was scheduled for Saturday, but they left for Queen’s Isle on Friday after work, eager to escape the city.
They dined in town, shared a few bottles of wine, then walked along the beach to unwind.
It was late at night, the stars were shining, but with no moon, the beach was quite dark.
“It's so beautiful here. I love being by the ocean. It’s calming,” Callie said, holding onto Ryan’s arm. She was very buzzed and enjoying the evening.
“It was fun spending time here as a kid,” Ryan said. “Amanda and I would be here all summer, usually with only staff watching us. Our parents would be in the city most of the time.”
“You were here alone?” Callie asked.
“With staff,” Ryan repeated.
“But no parents?” Callie continued. “Isn’t that weird to be away from your parents for so long?”
“I never thought so,” Ryan said. He paused to consider it. “You’ve met my parents. They aren’t exactly the nurturing types.”
Callie laughed, and he pulled her close and kissed her. He had his hand on her ass, pulling her closer as their kiss deepened.
“Have you ever had sex in the ocean?” Ryan whispered in her ear.
“No,” Callie confessed. “That’s pretty exposed.”
“It’s really dark,” Ryan observed.
He took her hand and led her toward the water.
Looking around, she saw there weren’t many houses nearby, and those that were had their lights out.
They kicked off their shoes and stood in the water as they kissed again.
The water was warm as it slapped their feet.
Ryan pulled his shirt off, tossed it onto the sand, and grinned at her, waiting to see if she agreed to what he wanted.
Looking around one more time to make sure no one was watching, Callie nodded, then pulled her summer dress over her head.
Ryan grinned, and they both finished undressing.
He led her into the water until it was chest-deep for him.
It was too deep for Callie, but Ryan lifted her, and she wrapped her legs around him.
The water now felt cool against her naked body, but Ryan was providing heat as he held her close.
He entered her slowly, and they stood there, just being close and kissing.
The waves were rhythmically pushing them forward, providing a slow, stimulating motion.
They almost didn’t need to put any effort into it.
Callie could feel Ryan growing more excited. He kept holding her with one arm as his other hand caressed her. Her skin was already sensitive from the water, but his touch heightened her pleasure. She began to move with the waves, deepening their pleasure.
“Oh fuck, Callie,” Ryan groaned.
She tightened her legs around him. His hands moved to her hips, helping to guide her. She could feel him getting close, and soon he was shaking as he climaxed. He held Callie tight while he caught his breath, then kissed her.
“You didn’t finish,” he said, concerned.
“That’s OK,” she said, grinning to hide her frustration.
“No, it’s not,” Ryan smirked.
He carried her back to the beach and gently lay her down on top of his shirt.
He grinned and slipped his hand between her legs.
She arched her back slightly to press against his touch, and he grinned again at her reaction.
He moved down on her and started to tease her with his tongue.
A wave of heat filled Callie’s body, and her breathing increased as he continued to work her most sensitive spots with his mouth.
She cried out as she came, and quickly slapped a hand over her mouth to stop herself from doing it again.
She wasn’t sure if the stars she was seeing were actually in the sky or a result of what Ryan had done to her.
Ryan wrapped his shirt around her as he pulled his pants back on. Then he lay down and pulled her close.
“I have a feeling you like the beach more than the ocean,” Ryan said.
“You seem to know what I like,” Callie laughed.
She lifted herself slightly to look at him, and he was smiling at her. Then she noticed someone standing at the very top of the beach, watching them. She thought she recognized the person.
“Someone was watching us,” she whispered to Ryan. “I think it’s your uncle.”
“For real?” Ryan said, starting to sit up.
“No, don’t look,” Callie said, pushing him back down.
“Do you think he knew it was us?” Ryan asked.
“Yeah, I think so,” Callie replied. “I can recognize him, even if he’s lurking in the shadows.”
Ryan started laughing.
“It’s not funny,” Callie protested. “We just put on a sex show for your uncle.”
“He’s the creepy one for watching,” Ryan objected. “I mean, anyone else, fine, stop and watch, but if it’s your nephew?”
“Nephew by marriage,” Callie pointed out. “He’s not a blood relative.”
“And that makes it better?” Ryan questioned.
“Not much,” she agreed. “But if you don’t want people watching you have sex, maybe don’t do it in public.”
“I didn’t hear you complaining a few minutes ago,” Ryan teased. “And who said I didn’t want anyone watching? It’s just him watching. I think it's weird.”
“Oh, now it’s weird?” she said. “So if I were to do this, you’d stop me?”
She was drunk, she knew that, and her judgment was impaired.
But she slowly reached into his pants and started to rub him.
She knew it would be hard for Ralph to see what she was doing from his viewpoint.
She glanced up to see that Ralph had stepped farther back into the shadows, trying to stay hidden.
Ryan was hardening again against her touch and she pulled his pants down and moved to straddle him.
She could see Ryan was conflicted. She was arousing him, but he was hesitant as well.
She still had his shirt on, but it was unbuttoned.
She took one of his hands and moved it to her breast. Then she increased her pace, and his hesitation was soon overshadowed by his needs.
He pulled her close to him and carefully reversed their position so he was on top.
He was taking her with desperation, and his intense movements were bringing her quickly to another orgasm.
She muffled her cry as she climaxed, and this time Ryan was the vocal one.
“Oh god,” he called out as he collapsed on top of her.
He lay next to her and pulled her close again. Callie lifted her head slightly off his chest to search the shadows. It took her a moment to find Ralph, and then she started to giggle. He was definitely still there, watching. He slowly walked back up the beach towards the house.
“I think we were a little too drunk last night,” Callie said, swallowing two Advil and handing the bottle to Ryan. “We shouldn’t have done that.”
“It’s going to be an awkward party this evening,” Ryan confirmed.
“We can just pretend we didn’t know he was there,” Callie suggested. “He wouldn’t have been able to tell that I saw him.”
“I don’t think he’s going to bring it up,” Ryan laughed. “I doubt he will thank us in front of the rest of the family for giving him a sex show for his birthday.”
“And if he does?” Callie teased. “Should we ask what he wants for Christmas?”
“I’m not having an orgy with him,” Ryan protested, and Callie laughed.
They nursed their hangovers until it was time for the party.
Ryan suggested they arrive later. He knew the house would be full of people, making it less likely Beth would make a scene and easier for Callie to avoid her.
Ryan hadn’t spoken to his mother about Callie or Lawrence since that day.
He didn’t know how to raise the topic, and she avoided it entirely.
He had seen her several times since the day they confronted Lawrence, but Callie had never been with him, and Beth never asked about her.
Ryan hoped Amanda had warned Beth that Callie would be attending.
They walked along the beach to the house, and by the time they arrived, it was full of guests.
As they entered, several people greeted Ryan, and Callie tried to remember everyone she was introduced to and their relationship to the Grant family.
There were a few family members from Ralph’s side, and Callie noticed they seemed more like the people she grew up with.
She wondered how Ralph had met Susan, given the vast social divide.
They continued through the house when Callie froze and tugged on Ryan’s arm.
He quickly turned to see what had happened, and Callie pointed ahead to the next room.
There was Damian, standing with Amanda, who was holding his arm tightly as she spoke with her parents.
“Well, that’s unexpected,” Ryan said, watching the interaction. “We'd better go say hi before this gets awkward. Then maybe we can find some alcohol. Lots of it.”
Callie tried to process what was happening.
Damian was there with Amanda, and they seemed very friendly.
Amanda likely had no idea what had happened between Damian, Callie, and Ryan.
Then there was Ralph, who was looking at them like dessert on a buffet table.
Callie agreed. She was too sober for this.
“Ryan, Callie, have you met Amanda’s boyfriend?” Susan asked as they approached.
“Boyfriend?” Ryan repeated, looking at Amanda. “Yes, we know Damian.”
Damian blushed; he seemed as taken aback by their presence as they were.
Callie didn’t understand why; he should have known Ryan would be invited to his uncle’s party.
She also wasn’t sure why it was upsetting her so much.
But it became clear that Amanda was the reason Damian had been avoiding them.
“It’s good to see you,” Damian said politely, as if they had never had a threesome.
