Chapter 26

Therapy in session

Boone: So Nan’s "helping out" at the Tipsy Cow tonight

Colter: Helping with what

Boone: Unclear. She borrowed my laptop for two hours and kept saying things like "presentation" and "optics"

Colter: That's not concerning at all

Boone: She also asked me what your best angle is?

Colter: My what!?!

Boone: Your best angle. Like for photos. I told her you don't have one, you're symmetrical in a boring way, and she got mad and said "clearly you've never sold a horse"

Colter: I'm not a horse

Boone: Try telling her that

Eli: This is the funniest thing I've read all week

Colter: You're not helping

Eli: Correct

Colter: Either of you know what she's actually planning

Boone: No idea. Vivi's being cagey too, which means Vivi knows and has been sworn to secrecy under threat of losing wedding planning privileges

Eli: My money's on some kind of public auction situation

Colter: What?

Eli: I'm kidding. Probably

Colter: PROBABLY?

Eli: This is Nan we’re talking about. So good luck though

Boone: Just wanted you to have a heads up. wear something you don't mind being photographed in

Colter: I'm not going

Boone: You're going

Colter: Why would I go into that willingly?

Boone: Because she already told Irma you'd be there tonight and Irma told half the clinic and if you don't show up the story becomes "Colter Callahan stood up his own grandmother" and that's a worse headline than whatever she's actually planning

Colter: I hate this family

Eli: Wear the blue shirt. brings out your eyes for the photos

Colter: I'm blocking both of you

Boone: See you at 8
