Chapter 34 – Remi #3

Thiago stops immediately and looks toward the skyline as a burst of red light blooms over the buildings, followed by another explosion in white and blue.

Fireworks fill the sky.

I stare at them until the date finally clicks into place.

“Oh, shit.”

“What?”

I start laughing, still clinging to him. “I completely forgot it was the Fourth of July.”

He looks back toward the skyline. “Fuck. So did I.”

“With everything going on lately, I barely know what day it is.”

“Apparently, neither do I.”

Another boom rolls across the city, and gold sparks scatter above us, reflecting across the surface of the pool. I’m still watching them when Thiago starts moving again.

The next burst lights up the sky at almost the exact same time he drives into me, pulling a startled gasp from my lips.

He pauses only long enough to look at me and grin.

Gold floods the terrace as another firework opens overhead, and he settles back into the rhythm. His next thrust lands with a deep boom that rolls through the night, so hard I feel it thunder inside my chest.

“Don’t you fucking stop.”

Everything blurs together until all I can register are his hands, the heat of him inside me, and the fireworks shaking the sky.

Each blast seems to beat in time with my heart as pleasure builds with every movement.

I cling to him, barely aware of anything beyond the way he feels and the flashes of color spilling across his face.

A fresh explosion ripples overhead, and the force of it steals my breath as Thiago drives into me again and again. My body is already too sensitive, every stroke pushing me closer while the fireworks keep bursting in rapid succession.

“Thiago, I’m...fuck.”

He hears the change in my voice and pulls me tighter against him. “That’s it, fera. Come all over my dick. I want to feel you squeeze every inch.”

I bury my face against his neck as the pressure climbs faster, my legs trembling around his waist while another burst lights the terrace and shudders beneath my ribs.

“Oh, fuck.”

My whole body locks around him, each pulse seeming to fall in time with the fireworks booming across the sky.

He holds me through it, one arm firm around my waist while his other hand cradles the back of my head.

I can hear him saying my name against my temple, but everything else has dissolved into water, color, and the pounding of my heart.

I’m still catching my breath when Thiago’s rhythm falters. His face presses into my throat, and the rough sound he makes against my skin sends a weak aftershock through me.

“Oh, fuck, fuck,” he growls. “Keep squeezing me like that.”

I slide one hand into his wet hair and tug his face from my neck until his mouth is inches from mine. “Give it to me.”

His hips jerk against me as he comes, and I feel every shudder that moves through his body.

We stay pressed together on the ledge as the water settles around us and fireworks continue. My breathing slowly evens out, but my heart still pounds so hard that every distant thunder seems to answer it.

Thiago lifts his head and brushes my wet hair away from my face. “You okay?”

I nod, then laugh. “I think I just came to a fireworks show.”

He laughs softly and kisses my temple. “That was one hell of a finale.”

“You’re ridiculous,” I say, tracing my fingers along his jaw.

“Worth it.”

I smile and rest my forehead against his. “Yeah. It was.”

He keeps me close, and I make no move to leave his arms.

“Not a bad way to spend the Fourth.”

“No,” I admit, resting my head against his shoulder. “Not bad at all.”

Thiago shifts us on the ledge until his back rests against the edge of the pool, then pulls me into his lap. I settle between his legs as his arms circle my waist and my head falls against his shoulder.

Another firework erupts, this time casting gold across the night, and I tilt my face toward the sky to watch it fade. After a while, I notice his thumb moving slowly over my stomach and realize he hasn’t looked away from me.

He isn’t watching the show at all.

“What?” I ask softly.

“You’re beautiful.”

I turn toward the sky again, suddenly grateful for the darkness that hides how much those words affect me.

“You have all that happening above us, and you’re looking at me?”

“I am. They could light up the whole fucking sky. It still wouldn’t be enough to steal my attention from you.”

Glancing back, I meet his eyes, unable to stop smiling. I don’t have a response, and I don’t want one.

Thiago kisses into my hairline, then pulls me more securely against his chest. “Thank you.”

“For what?”

“For trusting me enough to bring me here. I can tell this place means something to you. And I know you don’t bring just anyone up here.”

My hand drifts over his forearm where it rests across my stomach as I tip my head toward the fireworks again.

“You gave me something important today. Your lake for my pool.”

He threads his fingers with mine. “My lake for your pool.”

Gold glitters above us as I stay tucked against him, not wanting to be anywhere else.

* Fuck, you’re mine.
