Chapter 76 – thiago #2

That one word hits me square in the fucking chest.

I pull her mouth back to mine, and she clings to me. The tenderness lasts all of a few seconds before need takes over again.

“Say it again.”

“I’m yours, Thiago.”

I drag her closer, and she meets me harder, her body pressing against mine.

“Climb in the back,” I rasp, already lifting her off my aching cock.

“So you do have a death wish.”

She starts to twist toward the back seat, bracing one hand against the steering wheel for leverage and accidentally laying on the horn in the process.

The loud blast makes us both freeze, and she slowly turns toward me with wide eyes.

“Did you just fucking honk?”

“Shut up.”

I burst out laughing as she scrambles into the back seat. “Really helping with that whole traumatizing-your-family thing, baby.”

She shoots me a look over her shoulder. “Get back here and fuck me, Braga.”

The comeback I had dies in my throat when I see my girl on her knees, ass up and glistening cunt dripping, waiting for me.

My mouth waters at the thought of sliding back inside her, but when I try to follow, I run into a snag.

“Thiago,” she says, looking back at me. “What the hell?”

“I’m trying.”

I duck my head and twist sideways, maneuvering one leg over the center console before my shoulder slams into the roof.

Maybe Remi is right about this truck because I might actually need a fucking van.

She laughs. “Need some help, big guy?”

I can’t help but join her because if it weren’t for the tints and windshield cover, the whole track would have a perfect view of my bare ass.

“Not a word, chama,” I say, finally making it all the way over.

I kiss my way up her back, fingers sliding between her legs, circling her clit to get her to shut the fuck up. My mouth brushes her ass cheek, and I resist the urge to bite down or taste her.

“Thiago, please.”

The impatience in my name makes me smile against her skin.

“Much better.”

I set the heel of my hand against her shoulder and push her farther down. Her laughter fades as she looks back at me, the heat in her eyes bringing us right back to where we were.

“Goddamn, all this is mine.”

“Then stop making me wait.”

I grin, brace one hand against the glass, and sink inside her. Her head drops forward with a broken sound.

“Fuck, fuck.”

“I’ve got you, baby.”

Her palm covers mine against the window, our fingers threading together as the glass fogs around them.

I bend over her until my chest meets her back and kiss the side of her neck.

“Look at me, chama.”

She turns her head, and I catch her mouth, swallowing her whimper as her fingers tighten around mine.

“Thiago.”

I know my girl well enough to hear what she needs from the way she moans my name.

“Sing for me, baby.”

I pick up the pace, and she moves with me, her hips meeting mine again and again. Everything between us becomes faster and more desperate as I bury my face against her shoulder and hold her as close as the cramped back seat allows.

“Come with me, chama.”

“Don’t stop, Thiago. Don’t let go.”

“Never.”

Her whole body tenses against mine, and hearing her come apart with my name on her lips sends me over the edge right behind her.

Our hands stay linked on the window while we catch our breath, and I kiss my way to her neck.

Remi eventually looks back at me. “Still think the truck was a bad idea?”

I laugh against her skin. “Ask me when I can feel my legs again.”

By the time we manage to get dressed, the windows are still fogged, and we’re in no hurry to leave the back seat. Remi stretches her legs across mine while I lean against the door, enjoying a few more minutes alone with her before our family inevitably comes looking for us.

I think about Amalia talking about my aunt sitting around their table and how natural it sounded. A year ago, our lives were divided by secrets and everything I kept from Remi. Now her family and mine are becoming part of the same life.

There’s something I’ve been thinking about giving her for a while.

For a long time, I couldn’t decide whether letting her read it would finally put that part of our story behind us or drag her back through something she’d already worked so hard to forgive.

But sitting here with her now, after everything we’ve rebuilt, I don’t want to keep this part of me from her anymore.

“Remi, I want to show you something.” I reach across the front seats and into the glove compartment. I’m barely up for two seconds when Remi’s hand cracks against my ass.

She laughs, and I look back at her with a quirked eyebrow. “Really?”

“You do it to me all the time. Plus, how could I resist?”

I shake my head and settle beside her again with my father’s notebook.

She looks down at it. “What’s that?”

“Something I want you to see,” I say, holding it out to her. “I’ve spent a long time debating whether to give it to you or just burn it, but I think I need to do this so I can finally put that part of our lives behind me.”

She takes it but doesn’t open it yet. “It's a notebook.”

“It’s about you.”

Her eyebrows lift. “You have a notebook about me?”

“That sounds significantly creepier when you say it like that.”

“Is there another way to say it that doesn’t sound creepy?”

“Probably not.”

Laughing lightly, she runs her fingers over the cover. “So what exactly did you write?”

“Read it.”

She opens to the first page, and I watch the amusement slowly disappear from her face as she realizes what she’s holding.

The earliest pages are filled with my father’s handwriting.

Remi looks up at me. “These were your dad’s case notes.”

“Keep turning the pages.”

She drops her gaze to the notebook and reads on. I know when she reaches the parts that no longer belong to my father because she slows down, taking more time with each page.

The entries were never really about the mission. They were about her. The way she talks to herself when she works, the watermelon lollipops, how fucking happy she looks behind the wheel of a car, and how much I love the sound of her laughter.
