9. New Nanny, New Feelings

New Nanny, New Feelings

Nadine knelt down, straightening the collar on EJ’s school uniform.

“Mommy! Why do you keep doing that?” he whined.

Nadine smiled. “Don’t you want to look nice for your new nanny? We want to make a good impression, don’t we?”

“New Nanny? Mama Glinda isn’t going to take me to school?”

“No baby. Remember, she’s in Florida taking care of her sister.”

EJ looked up with sad eyes. “So she’s not coming back?”

Nadine cupped EJ’s chubby cheek. “No, baby. She's not.”

It had been forever since Nadine had been home early enough to get EJ ready for school.

She usually left before the sun rose to get an early start in the office.

Since she was working from home, this morning was a rare treat.

She enjoyed fixing his snacks, pressing his pants, and brushing his wild little curls into place.

It made her feel less guilty about working so much, even if for a brief moment.

Eddie lumbered down the steps, dressed in slacks and a university polo. “Hey baby.” He kissed Nadine on the cheek and tickled EJ until he was giggling. “I see you’re up bright and early.”

Nadine watched as he grabbed his messenger bag and keys. “Wait. You aren’t going to stay and meet the new nanny?”

Nadine had gotten a thorough dossier from the agency.

The new nanny, Zaire Baxter, seemed legit.

She was twenty-six, a graduate student with an undergrad degree in early childhood education and had been a nanny for several years.

She had glowing recommendations from previous employers, some stating that they wished she hadn’t moved away for school.

She was brand new to the agency, so her picture wasn’t in their database yet.

Her resume impressed Nadine enough for her to move forward with the selection.

Besides, EJ probably needed someone with some youthful energy to keep up with him.

Glinda was great, but EJ was indeed a handful.

“I’m sorry, babe. I got an early meeting with the athletic director today. It’s mandatory. We’re working on the budget for next year. Text me in case it’s urgent or she doesn’t work out.” Eddie pressed another kiss to Nadine’s temple and headed toward the garage.

Nadine sighed, turning to EJ. “I guess it’s just me and you, kiddo. What do you think about pancakes and sausage for breakfast?”

EJ smiled. “Can I have waffles? And two sausages?”

“Absolutely!” Nadine picked up EJ and placed him on the barstool at the island. “Coming right up, Mister Moody!” Calling him “mister” always made EJ giggle.

Nadine moved around the kitchen, cooking up waffles and sausage for her little one and making a simple bowl of oats for herself.

Nadine enjoyed actually taking her time for once, not rushing to scarf down a bagel and coffee to head out the door.

As she and EJ finished their breakfasts, her front gate intercom buzzed, alerting her that the nanny was there.

“Hello?” Nadine answered, looking at the small monitor in the foyer. A small black sedan was parked outside the gate. She could only make out the top of the woman’s head.

“Hi. Mrs. Moody? I’m Zaire. Zaire Baxter from the agency.” A raspy voice said through the intercom.

“Yes. I’ll buzz you in. Just park on the left side of the garage.”

“Alright.”

Nadine straightened out her casual Spanx loungewear set, smoothed back her ponytail, and quickly wiped EJ’s syrupy face, much to his protest. Once the doorbell rang, Nadine grabbed EJ’s hand and quickly walked down the marble laden hallway to the massive doors to meet Zaire.

When Nadine opened the door, her smile nearly dropped to the pit of her stomach. Standing on her front porch was the woman who had been haunting her dreams for the past few weeks.

Zen.

Nadine blinked a few times to be sure her eyes weren’t playing tricks on her.

No, it was definitely her, less makeup and toned down, but certainly her.

Same dark, supple skin. Same gorgeously faded hair.

She was a vision, standing there in a simple black tee, jeans that seemed poured on her, and Vans.

No way on earth that Zen is standing here in my doorway.

When she felt EJ tug on her hand, Nadine snapped out of her thoughts.

“Hi. Hello. I’m Nadine. Nadine Davis Moody. Mrs. Moody.” Nadine was a rambling mess.

“Hi. I’m Zaire.” The woman, who appeared much younger without the sparkles or moody lighting, gave Nadine a panty wetting smile.

She extended her hand, fingernails painted bright green.

Hesitantly, Nadine took it and shook softly.

Jesus, her skin was still as soft as butter.

Nadine quickly removed her hand. She didn’t need to embarrass herself further.

Zaire looked down at the little figure next to Nadine. “And this must be little EJ?”

EJ hid slightly behind his mother. Nadine looked down, shaking her head with a smile. “Sorry, he’s a little shy. It’s a big change for him.”

Nadine watched as Zaire got down on one knee, eye level with EJ. “Well, EJ, this is a big change for me too. You’re a new little boy I have to get to know. But I love making new friends. Especially ones that love Bluey.”

Nadine smiled. Zaire had definitely read up on all the notes that Glinda left for her it seemed.

EJ gasped. “You like Bluey!”

“I love Bluey!” exclaimed Zaire. “So, I think we can start with that, can’t we?”

EJ quickly shook his head, finally easing out of his mother’s shadow. “Yes! Mommy, can I show Miss Zay-yay my Bluey toys?”

“EJ, it’s Zaire,” Nadine corrected, softly. “And maybe later, ok? We’ve got to get you to school.”

Nadine looked up at Zaire, finding the woman smiling right at her. She couldn’t help but smile back. Damn, she was beautiful.

Zaire moved her gaze back to EJ. “I know that’s hard to say, but you can call me Miss Z. Since we’re gonna be friends, ok?” She stuck out her hand and the pudgy little boy took it, shaking it like a big boy.

“Mrs. Moody?” the woman furrowed her brow. “Is everything ok?”

Nadine hadn’t realized she was still staring.

What had gotten into her? “Ah, yes. Can’t have you standing out here the whole time.

Follow me!” Nadine quickly ushered Zaire through the foyer.

“I’ll give you a quick tour. If you want, you can take your shoes off here and put them in the holder.

In the future, you can come in through the garage.

We have a mudroom to put your shoes. Glinda would keep slippers here, so you’re free to do the same. ”

Nadine tried to put on some air of authority as the woman of the house, but internally, she knew she was failing miserably.

She felt nervous, her pits sweating and her hands shaky.

As she gave Zen a tour of the home, Nadine tried her best not to squeeze her son’s hand to death.

She could feel the boy squirming under her touch.

“And this is the spare bedroom,” Nadine said as she opened the door, allowing Zaire to look around. “In the event, we may need you to stay overnight or something. You’re welcome to bring anything you need to make yourself comfortable.”

Nadine watched as Zaire looked around, her hands gliding up and down the linen on the bed. For a quick second, Nadine had a visual of Zen spread across her bedding, legs open, pussy dripping. Nadine shook her head. Get it the fuck together, Deanie.

“This is lovely, Mrs. Moody.” Zaire nodded, her fingers fiddling with the scalloped edge of the comforter. “You have amazing taste.”

Nadine watched, never wanting to be a duvet cover so badly. She smiled. “Thank you.”

Zaire’s eyes lingered on Nadine, brazenly moving down her body. “Seems like that’s with everything, huh?”

Nadine swallowed, her breath caught in her throat. “I…I think we better get going. We’ll take my car so you can familiarize yourself with drop off and pick up. It can be a beast at times.”

“Sure thing, Mrs. Moody.”

After buckling EJ into his car seat, Nadine opened the car door for Zaire. Nadine wasn’t sure why she did that. But part of her just wanted to watch her slide that incredible ass across her leather seats.

“Thank you, Mrs. Moody.” Zaire smiled as she slid into her seat.

“Of course.” Nadine swiftly moved around to the driver’s side and buckled herself in.

“Can I listen to the Sesame Street show?” asked EJ

“Absolutely, Junior!” Nadine said, way more enthusiastically than she should have.

She usually hated listening to the Sesame Street podcast in the car but was entirely grateful for the distraction.

Anything to take her mind off the fact that this fine woman was in her passenger seat.

A woman she kissed weeks ago. The thought made her pussy hum like the engine of her car.

As she drove, Nadine peered at Zaire out of the corner of her eye.

She was looking around, seeming to take in her surroundings, and putting notes in her phone.

She wasn’t paying attention to Nadine stealing glances of her profile.

At least, she hoped she hadn’t noticed. Full, glossy lips.

High cheekbones. A barbell piercing in the helix of her ear.

Nadine remembered the piercing she saw on her clit at the club.

The thought made her salivate a little. She had to clear her throat.

Nadine pulled into the drop-off line at the posh Westmore School, just one of several luxury vehicles full of some of Atlanta’s most privileged children from some of its wealthiest families.

This hadn’t been Nadine’s first choice. She wanted EJ to go to a small Montessori school in the neighborhood, but the other athletes and coaches' wives insisted that it was the best place for kids “in their position”.

She was paying a fortune just for EJ to go to Pre-K for half a day.

So she enrolled EJ, not wanting to seem ungrateful for the recommendation. She was always one to go with the flow.
