Pink Bunny Fresh Victim

Olivia was grumpy when Colin woke her up at three in the morning to prepare for the procedure. She grumbled moodily, not wanting to wake up. So resigned to her early morning attitude and lack of response, he had to pick her up and walk her into the shower, pajamas and all.

After she brushed her hair and her teeth, she dressed in a very light pink strapless maxi dress with no bra. Something easy for her to pull over her head when it was over.

They drove in comfortable silence for the hour to the surgery center, listening to instrumental music along the way.

He sent the vehicle off with a valet and checked in with registration. The nurse settled them in a private room, where she had to wash down with special wipes before dressing in a hospital gown and cap. She made Colin leave for that part.

“So sexy, huh?” Olivia huffed, not appreciating looking like an invalid next to this man who’d just spent a small fortune to get her to bend to his every desire. He responded pleasantly and told her she should think of it as her investing in her future. And she hammered that into her head during the times she found herself lost in thought, thinking about some of the things she’d read in their contract.

The fact that he’d not listed much of any hard limits was a little scary. Only a safe word that was of her choosing. Implying that almost nothing was off limits, and her mind went wild with varying possibilities.

The anesthesiologist came in explaining that he might need to up her dose depending on how she fell asleep, and the possibility of her waking up on the table during the procedure. Which almost made her call off the whole thing the prospect terrified her so badly.

At Colin’s stern look, she bravely listened to the man and asked him a few questions to help soothe her mind. Grateful that Colin was there to hold her hand as the anesthesiologist ran her an IV in order to distribute her medicine.

Her eyes watered as Colin softly kissed her goodbye, whispering in her ear that she was brave, and she was going to do well, before they wheeled her out.

Olivia indeed woke up on the table, but then was quickly put under once more.

In recovery, Colin raised his eyebrow at her when the doctor explained that she was hard to put to sleep. They explained that her injury was, in fact, a tear that most athletes get after years of being in their career. They went in microscopically, so the scaring should be minimal. The post-surgery grogginess helped her to keep quiet about what she did to cause the injury, only thanking the doctor before he left her to get dressed.

At her insistence, the nurse helped her dress and then strapped her into a sling.

Ignoring her pleas to walk, they wheeled her all the way to the front entrance. She grumbled once more when Colin had the hospital valet bring his vehicle to the front for her so he could be with her every step of the way.

Bending down, he scooped her up from the chair and deposited her carefully into the passenger seat that he already had reclined. Olivia giggled groggily as he produced a small pillow to place under her arm to help prop it up.

Colin turned and flashed the accompanying nurse a megawatt smile as she praised him for taking such good care of her. He gently closed the door before getting in next to her and pulling off.

On the highway, Colin voice texted Vanessa to inform her they were on the way home and sent her the address to the house again. Then he preordered take out for them all for dinner, pizza and pasta this time.

Something easy and that he knew Allison should like.

Olivia succumbed to her medicine and slept reclining on the way home. So, he took advantage of the opportunity to stop at the pharmacy drive through and pick up her prescription medicine and her birth control pills. Now and then he reached over to run his hand down her bare arm affectionately.

Finding that it was difficult to keep his hands off her.

He was incredibly proud of how brave she”d been, despite her grumpy mood. And he was trying to think of a way to reward her in a way that she would be receptive to.

Pulling onto his property, he parked in the front drive again by the fountain, reaching in to lift her still sleeping form out of the car. He carried her into the house and laid her in the informal lounge by the kitchen. Covering her gently with a plush Hermes blanket to make sure she was comfortable. He turned the sound system to some soothing music to create some white noise so that he wouldn’t disturb her while he pitter pattered around the house.

Four hours later, he was sitting on the couch across from Olivia on his computer. Enjoying an expensive scotch and watching the news, when his phone pinged with a message. Vanessa said she was off work and on her way with Allison, coming to spend the night after Olivia’s surgery.

Colin ran upstairs to check that the guest room and ensuite were suitable, and he opened the doors to their private terrace, letting a breeze in.

He smoothed out the cream sheets on the four-poster bed, turning the two lamps on a low setting on either side of the bed. He glanced at the plush unicorn that he had Mary pick up for Allison, sitting on the side chair waiting for it”s new owner. Then he headed into the bathroom, making sure there were enough toiletries for them and towels.

After a few more seconds of running around, he stopped, realizing that he was trying to impress Olivia’s sister and niece. He wanted them to know she was being taken care of.

The thought of caring enough to prove his intentions threw him off kilter, so he put a lid on the whys and went downstairs to grab the pizza and pasta delivery. Placing it into the warmer.

Colin”s phone rang. Vanessa again. He answered it quickly. Looking over and seeing that Olivia was still deeply asleep, he turned, making his way down the hallway.

“Hey Colin,” Vanessa sounded slightly irritated. “I think we’re lost.”

“Did you double check that you put the right address in the GPS?” he enquired. Stepping quickly into his downstairs study, he sat down at the mahogany desk and pulled out his personal laptop. He put her on speaker while he jiggled the screen awake. Wincing when the bright light assaulted his eyes, he reached for his readers to slip them on quickly. There was a light shuffle in the background.

“Yes but I barely see any houses and everything’s gated. I pulled over just to make sure. I didn’t want to bug you, but I thought it might be worse if we were truly lost,” her soft voice carried through the phone along with Allison’s murmuring.

Colin typed in his password and pulled up his favorite search engine. Leaning back into the seat, he settled in comfortably, hearing the comforting creak of the leather of his expensive office chair.

“It’s no bother at all. Send me your location really quick,” he said, as he busied himself pulling up a luxury website for bedsheets.

He scrolled through the thread count for California king size sheets and found the nicest ones at almost half a grand a piece. Putting several set sheets and pillowcases in the cart before clicking the check out button, ignoring the steep price tag. Considering how wet she’d gotten yesterday morning, and the night of their first date, he wanted spare sheets for their bed for when Olivia was healed up. He had a feeling they were going to need them.

His phone pinged, and he checked Vanessa”s location.

“You’re in the right place. You have a few more minutes to drive. The code is nine-four-two-ten. By the way, I put two million dollars in your account Vanessa, where did you think I lived exactly?” he chucked down the phone, teasing her.

He listened to her shocked scoff and wished he could visualize her face.

“These are insane homes, not your regular mansions. I didn’t know. We didn’t exactly grow up around wealth to know the difference. I mean, you’ve seen my house, right?“ she said tiredly, and he felt bad for making her feel less than. So, he pulled up another webpage and bought a ridiculous unicorn and flamingo floating device for the pool, hoping that Allison would like it.

Then immediately felt torn again for trying to impress them.

“Just for the record, neither did I. I’ll see you when you get here, park by the fountain. If you still can’t find your way, call me back and I’ll jump on my bike and come find you,” Colin disconnected the call, texted her the code as a reminder before he went back towards the lounge to check on Olivia, who was still sleeping. Noticing she’d moved at some point, her blanket slipping slightly off her torso. He pulled it back on her, careful not to disturb her.

He ran his fingers down her soft cheek, watching her eyelids flutter slightly, wondering what she could be dreaming about. If she found peace and solace inside her head when she was unconscious. He hoped so.

Colin grabbed Olivia”s pills and a bottle of water from the kitchen counter, quietly placing them on the table in front of her so they could be handy when she woke up. He walked to the glass double front doors and opened them. Walking out to the stairs and seeing the sun setting into brilliant shades of blues, pinks, and lavenders, throwing the property’s lights on. Illuminating all the various landscaping, the fountain, and the home magnificently in the dusky atmosphere of the evening.

A minute later, he heard Vanessa”s car pull up. The engine was knocking, immediately causing his mood to turn sour. It seemed that when Olivia wouldn’t be irritating him, her sister would be stepping in to substitute in some way, shape, or form.

God, that irks, Colin thought. He just wanted everyone to behave. And not drive a car that sounded like it was going to blow up.

He walked down the stairs to meet her, as she exited her dark blue vehicle, raising his hand in hello. She was so busy staring at the house that she couldn’t even speak at first.

“H-hey Colin. This is a nice…” she said, her head craning back to take in the architecture. She snapped out of it and bent down, grabbing Alison from the car and putting her briefly on the ground so she could reach back in to grab their overnight bag.

“Thank you,” he chuckled, amused. His irritated mood dissipated quickly with the compliment. He didn’t bother to correct the fact she didn’t finish her sentence.

He smiled wider as he watched Allison”s slight form toddle back a few steps, her own head craning this way and that way to look all around her.

She was holding a worn pink bunny in her hand, one of the floppy ears dragging on the ground, looking like it’s seen much better days. She suddenly spotted him in her perusal and rushed towards him, saying “up, up” while making little grabby hands and grunts. He bent down and picked her up easily, placing her in one arm and reaching out to grab the bag from Vanessa.

The little girl smiled into his face before speaking.

“Is this your castle?” she whispered excitedly, grinning at him. She placed her hands on his cheeks and stared into his eyes with her green almond ones. His heart tugged at how dull her eyes looked.

Poor little nina shouldn’t be having to go through this at all, he thought, planning to take time to say extra hail Mary’s for her throughout the day and at night with his mother’s rosary.

“Yes,” he whispered back. “Your aunt’s inside. Would you like to go see her now?” grinning at her just as stupidly. He turned with her in his arm and jerked his head to Vanessa, who was busy feeling the top of her hood. He rolled his eyes, not sure what she thought that feeling the top of her hood was going to do to fix her predicament.

”You have to lift up the hood and look inside of it silly,” he shook his head, already resigned to fixing it. She glanced up and walked to him with a slightly embarrassed look on her face. She bumped her shoulder against him lightly in jest, and he bumped her back, causing her to grin at him.

“You know I’m going to look this place up on Zillow as soon as we get settled in, right?” Vanessa teased, not even trying to hide being nosy and making Colin laugh the hardest he’s laughed in weeks. “What’s the taxes on this thing?”

“Vanessa, I’d think something was wrong with you if you didn’t. You nosy woman,” he ribbed back, as he escorted them into the home and dropped the bag on the floor.

Allison spun in a circle so hard trying to look at everything that she tripped on her bunny’s ear and slipped, falling onto her behind. She got up rather quickly and suddenly called, “Tee-Tee! Where are you?” her adorable strawberry blond curls whipped around as she turned.

Colin winced at her high-pitched voice. He ushered them around the foyer table with the roses and into the lounge across the way from the massive kitchen. On the couch, Olivia was stirring, finally waking up.

“Ally! Hi baby! I missed you!” Olivia crooned, sounding groggy.

With his help she gingerly pushed herself up to an incline as Allison first ran towards her, then stopped, tiptoeing as she got closer to her aunt. She finally made it to her, and her green eyes stared into Olivia’s as she leaned in, careful not to touch Olivia’s arm. The little girl wrung her fingers in front of her small body, unsure of herself.

“Auntie Ollie, are you ok? Does your arm hurt a lot?” she whispered in her little voice, trying to snuggle but careful not to touch Olivia’s arm.

Vanessa had settled onto the opposite couch after leaning in to give Olivia a kiss on her forehead. Colin motioned for her to grab the matching Hermes blanket for herself as he turned the television onto the app store. The mason made chunky stone fireplace was gently roaring, and he made sure the iron gate to it was nice and secure. Safety was always his top priority.

He paused, looking at Olivia contemplatively for a second before reaching onto the couch behind him and grabbing a thick throw pillow. He walked to her and leaned her forward slightly, placing the pillow behind her back and helping her to settle more comfortably. She smiled her thanks at him, not able to talk as Allison had one hand around her jaw another around her neck and was shoving her face into her neck.

He chuckled in amusement. “Please help yourself to something to drink,” he said to Vanessa, resuming flicking through the apps.

Olivia helped Allison settle against her in a way that was more comfortable before replying to her.

“Only a little sweet pea. It’s better because you’re here now,” she smiled, leaning down to give her cheek a kiss as she giggled at her niece. Colin’s heart swelled just a little watching them.

“So, how’d it go? Okay?” Vanessa asked, pulling out her phone and snapping a quick picture. His phone dinged a second later. She’d sent him the picture of Olivia and Allison. Smiling his thanks, he quickly saved the picture to an album he mischievously titled ”Ollie”.

He resumed scrolling through the apps on the television he never watched unless he had the news on.

Suddenly feeling three pairs of curious eyes on him, he sat on the couch. Realizing just then he was the only one standing. He wasn”t used to having others in his home.

“So, what do you want to watch?” he asked, leaning back and sipping his whiskey. Looking over at Allison. Her eyes went wide as she stared hard at him, contemplating.

“Do you have the Little Mermaid?” she said excitedly, clutching her bunny so hard he wondered if the thing would still have ears by the end of the night. The seams were splitting rather alarmingly. He was happy that there was a fresh victim upstairs just waiting for her to mangle it.

“Do I? I don’t know…let’s see,” he mused out loud, pulling up the Disney app and hurriedly creating an account, making quick work of it as he’d had his credit card memorized. He looked over at Vanessa and leaned forward. “Can you get the pizza and pasta out of the oven and the plates and napkins? They’re in the kitchen in the warming drawer in the island, to the left.”

She nodded and got up gracefully, padding to the kitchen.

Colin heard a bunch of rustling before she appeared with the two pizza boxes. She thoughtfully spread a huge kitchen towel on his wood table before laying the pizza boxes and spaghetti down. He looked at her and nodded in thanks, locating the movie, and pushing play.

Allison got on her knees in front of the table as the opening of the movie started. He watched her reach in the box for a cheese pizza before carefully placing it on a plate with the help of her mother. She took a bite before turning and offering it to Olivia to have. Everyone smiled. Colin chuckled, thinking kids were cute. He”d never really thought about having one of his own.

His eyes slid slowly to Olivia. Knowing Johnathan was right to assume he was crazy, because he couldn’t help imagining her pregnant. With his child. Children he’d never thought about having, until he met her. This stranger who really didn’t feel like a stranger. He felt like he’d known her his whole life.

“No sweety thank you,” Olivia shook her head before leaning back once more and sighing. Colin contemplated her for a second before reaching forward to unscrew her medicine bottle and dumping out two pills in his hands. Handing it to her with some water.

“You need to take this. Before the pain starts to take over,” he encouraged, placing the tablets on her tongue, and watching her sip the water carefully. She shakily smiled her thanks before leaning back and settling deeper into the pillows.

They watched the mermaid movie and ate all the pizza.

Colin assumed his usual position, ankle over his knee, propping his head against his fist. Finding himself ironically thinking that this was the most red-head action he’d ever had in his house. He watched with interest as the purple sea witch rose out of the sea ominously. Her stolen crown separating the Princess and the Prince, forcing them to plunge into the sea separately. Only to come together in the end.

He rather enjoyed it.

He’d gotten a tremendous thrill from hearing Allison yell with excitement when he took her and Vanessa up the elevator to their ensuite, showing them their bedroom and bidding them goodnight. He paused outside of the guest bedroom to text his good friend and business associate Johnathan that he needed a new car delivered tomorrow. Worried about the engine knocking on Vanessa’s vehicle.

Going back downstairs, he rubbed his eyes. Beginning to feel pangs of fatigue from constantly going since three in the morning.

Colin scooped up Olivia’s sleeping form and took her to their bedroom. Laying her in the bed and covering her up gently. He went out in the hallway and looked at the guest bedroom and saw their light was turned off. Activating the house alarm on the phone, he showered and brushed his teeth before donning a pair of silk pajama pants and crawled into bed next to Olivia.

Making sure to place an extra pillow under her arm so she wouldn”t jostle it in her sleep, he leaned in and kissed her lips goodnight. Softly as to not disturb her.

He settled in close and drifted to sleep, facing her, his hand on her belly.
