CHAPTER 21
SHADE
This is so messed up.
If the situation was different, I totally would’ve laughed at Remmie’s joke, pulled her to my chest and told her I’d happily be her sex slave. But no.
Seeing Remmie tied up and hurt, being unable to do anything to help her, will haunt me for the rest of my existence.
This is why I ran and hid from Dalia for all those years. This is why I considered leaving Remmie behind so she wouldn’t get caught up in all of this. She came to save me.
And now look. She’s trapped here with me.
My love for this woman is as endless as the sea. But I would have given up my life to keep her away from this very moment.
I strain against the power that binds me, the pain of trying flooding through my every cell.
All I want to do is pull her into my arms and apologize for this darkness ever reaching her.
My legs move on their own, pushing Remmie through the long corridor, Dalia leading the way.
I am powerless to stop whatever is about to happen.
Maybe I’m just a cowardly demon, but I don’t see a way out of this one.
