EVERLY
My heart thunders in my chest as the sound of motorcycles fills the air. Sophie and I rush to the door together as the guys pull back into the clubhouse lot. I sigh in relief as soon as I see Rowan.
I can’t tell if he’s injured or not because darkness has fallen since they left, but he’s here . He’s alive.
I don’t even wait for him to stop before I’m rushing across the gravel lot and throwing myself at him. He catches me with an “oomph” and rests his head against my breasts.
“Did you miss me?” He asks and I can hear the smirk in his tone.
“Shut up,” I mutter as I hold him closer. “Are you okay?”
He pulls back and climbs off his bike. “I’m fine, baby. Just a little bruised.”
He tucks me under his arm and leads me back into the clubhouse where everyone else is waiting. Lisa watches on with a worried expression until she sees both of her sons, then she snuggles a sleeping Hazel closer to her chest.
The Tennessee charter cheers and calls for rounds of drinks for the guys. Rowan and Grayson don’t join, though, they just stick close to their family.
I finally get a good look at Rowan and see blood on his knuckles and a bruise forming near his eyebrow. “Let’s go upstairs so I can clean you up.”
I take his hand and pull him with me, leading him away from all the people and into our quiet space.
The door snicks shut behind us and I take him to the kitchen sink, pulling out a first aid kit from the cabinet and opening it up.
I turn on the water and pull his hands underneath the flow, cleaning away the blood.
It’s then that I realize, he doesn’t need the first aid kit. It’s not his blood.
“You know, this is oddly reminiscent of the night I pulled you from the wreck,” Rowan says as I dry his hands.
“I was in a daze when I got back to the clubhouse and came to this sink to clean the blood from my hands. Grayson, Axel and Sophie followed me upstairs because they were so worried. Seeing you like that did a number on me and I didn’t even know you,” he murmurs.
“I’m sorry you had to see me like that,” I tell him.
“I’m not,” he murmurs. “You wouldn’t be here today if it didn’t happen. It may make me a twisted man to be thankful for it, but I am,” he says as he reaches out and lifts my chin just as his mouth comes down to claim mine.
I stand on my tiptoes as I slide my hands around his neck, my fingers sinking into his shaggier-than-normal hair. He groans as my tongue meets his, his hands finding my hips and pulling me against his hard cock.
He lifts me up and deposits me on the counter, never breaking our kiss. He stops long enough to pull my sweater over my head and yank my leggings and underwear down before stripping himself bare, then he’s back on me, fitting himself between my thighs and kissing me fervently.
My hands find his cock and guide it to my pussy, scooting forward to slip the tip in. He groans against my mouth before he pushes all the way in, burying himself to the hilt.
He pounds into me, hitting my g-spot over and over again. I hold on for dear life as he thrusts in and out like a mad man, sucking my nipple into his mouth and giving it a gentle bite. I detonate like his teeth are a live wire directly to my orgasm.
He thrusts through my release, muttering curses as he tries to hold out. He comes a moment later with one last thrust, groaning into my neck as he fills me up.
“I fucking needed that, darlin’,” Rowan murmurs before planting a gentle kiss on my lips. A kiss that’s so different from the fucking we just did. So sweet, so unhurried.
“Me too, baby,” I say against his lips.
“Let’s get cleaned up and head back down, though,” he says after a moment. “I need to see what Grayson thinks and see my little girl.”
I smile at him calling Hazel his girl. It never ceases to make my heart skip a beat.
“What are you smiling about?” He asks with a smirk.
“I’m just happy,” I tell him honestly.
“I’m happy, too,” he says as he grabs my hand and helps me down. He pulls me into his embrace. “I’m happy because of you and Hazel. I’m happy because I love you both.”
“I love you, too,” I murmur through the lump in my throat. “We love you.”
His face lights up in the brightest smile and he hugs me closely. “I don’t want to go downstairs now,” he groans.
I laugh. “Too bad. We have to.”
I reach around and smack his rock-hard ass before grabbing my clothes from the floor and getting dressed.
He quickly dresses and then we head back down to the main room where everyone else is still waiting.
Most of the guys are drinking and celebrating, but Grayson is sitting at the table with his family.
Rowan and I join them after he takes Hazel from his mom, sitting across from Grayson and his dad.
“The cops are going to be a problem,” Rowan says, making me furrow my brows. The cops?
“I know,” Grayson mutters. “He can’t run around thinking that he decides what happens in this town, though.”
“How did they even know what was happening?” Kurt asks.
“I felt like they were going to do something to betray our agreement,” Rowan says. “Do you think they’re the ones who called it in?”
“Why else would the cops let them through?” Axel startles us as he comes over to join the conversation.
“I thought they were going to jump us with more men,” Grayson admits. “Not call the cops on us.”
“Me too,” Rowan murmurs.
“Running to the cops when it’s business between clubs is a line that shouldn’t be crossed.”
“Something that can’t be tolerated,” Rowan says ominously.
This just became a different ball game.
