Upon arrival at the scene, the victim was identified as Madeline Thomas, a homeless 25-year-old woman. She was found in an alleyway adjacent to The Spotted Cat Music Club, lying lifeless with multiple stab wounds to the chest. The victim was pronounced dead on site by the attending medical examiner.
Preliminary Examination:
The crime scene was processed and cordoned off for evidence collection. Several pieces of evidence were recovered and found near the victim’s body. Additionally, nearby surveillance cameras are being reviewed for any potential footage related to the incident.
Witnesses and Suspects:
Initial inquiries among witnesses in the vicinity revealed a bustling environment in the French Quarter at the time of the incident. Several musicians, artists, and street performers were observed in the vicinity. Additionally, The Spotted Cat Music Club was at capacity with a holiday celebration for the employees of Landmark Consulting. Interviews are scheduled with these individuals to determine if any were witnesses to the event or possess information relevant to the case.

The victim was a Hagar’s House women’s shelter resident on Canal Street.
