The Prince of Hearts Debuts Serious Side
In his first public appearance since his father’s passing, Prince Nicholai surprised the residents at Marymount Orphanage and Care Home on Thursday by hand-delivering new bicycles to every resident at the monarchy-funded facility.
After helping to unload the bicycles, Prince Nicholai stayed for several hours, conversing and playing with the children. He even taught one young boy how to ride his new bicycle, something Prince Nicholai shared that his father had done with him as a boy.
"My father, while being a great king, was also a wonderful and dedicated father. I was blessed to have had him in my life. My heart goes out to these children who have lost their parents, and I will do whatever possible to help them," the prince said.
It seems that the prince, best known for his revolving door of dating partners, is maturing, and he credits his father's death as the motivation for his personal growth.
"He always pushed me to strive for greatness, and I wish to honor his legacy by becoming the man he always knew I could be."
When asked if he planned to have children of his own, Prince Nicholai replied with a grin, "Of course, but I'm in no hurry."
Since King Christian's sudden death, the Crown has encountered several public relations crises, from King Alexander's short-lived engagement to the royal family's abysmally low approval ratings.
Perhaps the answer to their problems isn't to focus on the new king, but instead to focus on the Prince of Hearts.
