Queen Stepping Back from Public Duties

Queen Beatrice announced that she has made the decision to step back from her role as a senior working member of the royal family.

Through the Crown’s communications secretary, the Queen Mother released a statement today, which reads:

“Ever since I married into this esteemed family, I have loved leading Belgrovinia, but the time has come for me to step down from my public duties. Following my husband’s passing, I have witnessed my children rise to the pressures and rigorous demands of leading our monarchy, and I am assured that they will continue to do so with the utmost respect and resiliency. ”

In a telephone interview following the release of the statement, Queen Beatrice revealed that she made the difficult decision after the death of her husband last summer.

“Life is short. I’ve spent my adulthood fulfilling my duties as the queen of our great nation, but now it is time for me to clear my royal calendar and ease into retirement. ”

When asked about her future plans, the Queen revealed that she intended to escape the busy hustle and bustle of Windingham Palace and move to one of the royal family’s country estates for a quieter, more private life closer to her daughter and granddaughter.
