Epilogue
Lachlan couldn’t believe how much in his life had changed.
A year ago, he would never have believed he’d have two children, a mate, and such a laughing, happy household.
He looked around his family room, where Lars, Bryant, and their Kaden and Jayla sat, doing puzzles with Samuel and his brood. Kieran was playing a board game with Alban and Arthur, and Logan and Bea were watching some sort of ballgame.
He grinned at Jake, who sat next to him, sipping a beer, corralling Grant, who was in dad-jail.
“Can you believe this is our life?”
“No.” Jake clinked bottles with him. “I’m constantly amazed.”
“Me too.” Lachlan had been alone for a long while, even before the incident. He’d never expected this.
Even Gareth had met Micah, face to face, and had been able to integrate into the wing.
The world had totally turned a full three-sixty.
And he couldn’t be happier. The wing was safe. The wards hadn’t been breached since Wiver, and no one else had come looking.
And he had his mate. His gaze sought Kieran, and Lachlan smiled so hard his cheeks hurt.
His mate glanced up at him, the light glowing gently from him. All is well?
It’s perfect. Well, until we have pie and then shoo all of these people out of our house so I can love you.
Kieran laughed aloud, drawing smiles and questioning looks. “Blame Lachlan,” he murmured.
Bryant’s lips twisted. “Have been for an eternity, thanks.”
“Smart dragon,” Lachlan teased.
Lars rolled his eyes. “Guardians.”
Kieran nodded. “Mates.”
They all dissolved into laughter, and he knew he’d found the one place where all of these dragons could come together and be who they were.
There was no other wing like Oro Escondido.
