Chapter 18
The sweat I’m breaking should only mean two things: I’m working out or I’m having sex. Neither is happening. I pry an eye open, only to be faced with a hairy arm. Which explains my hard pillow. I have to move; my body needs to stretch.
I’m tangled in all man parts. I’m not complaining but he’s heavy. I twist, trying to wiggle free of him. I turn to my back; his hand rides up my stomach. Oh, hell, no! I squirm again, trying to free myself from his arm. It lands on my breast, palming it.
I cock a brow, turning to look at him. He appears to be asleep. I glance at his hand, giving thought to staying here and pretending to wake when he does. Weird, right? I move my hips. He moves his crotch against them. Fuck it, I’m staying here.
When his cock begins to swell, I have no doubt… he’s fucking with me and not in the way I want him to. “Walker. Walker,” I call his name, resulting in him nuzzling my chest. Yeah, I’m never leaving.
“Mornin’,” a gravely, sexy voice rumbles through my chest. My panties are immediately wet.
I tilt my head to face him. “Hey, handsome.”
“There’s so much I want to say but with my hand full of your almost exposed breast, I’m wishing my teeth were brushed for a different activity.” His eyes haven’t left my cleavage.
“So, the fact your hips are riding me as your knee is wedged between my thighs does nothing. It’s all about the breast.” I wave my hand around my boob.
“Yeah.” He winks at me and I swoon.
“You gonna just lay there or let me up?”
“Lay here.” He brushes my nose with his. “You do realize we didn’t even kiss last night.”
My nipples tighten. I know he realizes it because his nostrils flare, and I drag in a ragged breath. “I also see we still have our clothes on.”
He sighs. “Not my choice. You fell asleep.”
“Where are we?” I wring my neck, looking around the room. “How’d we get in your bed?”
“I carried you.” He grins, and I’m mortified.
I cover my face with my arm, dying. “You carried me? From over there to here?”
“Yes. And I showed great restraint in not undressing you.” He runs his lips across my jaw. I fight to keep from squeezing my legs from the fire burning in my core.
“Are you going to tease me forever?”
“Maybe. I sure as hell like your body’s response to me.” He nips my earlobe.
“Damn you. If you don’t take me soon, I may need to top from the bottom.” I squirm under his perusal of my body. He grinds into my thigh while kneading my breast. His finger slips beneath my bra, grazing my nipple.
“What if,” he places soft kisses on my cheek, “you come to dinner with me Friday at Riley and Ava’s?”
I can feel my pulse in my panties with his every word. “I can do that.” I lay as still as possible as he murmurs in my ear.
“After dinner, we can come back here and watch some more movies.” He licks my ear, making me scream.
“Ah, dude.” I kick at him until he wraps me in his arms.
“I’m kidding. If you want, you can spend the night. Bring a change of clothes or three and we can get to know each other better.” Walker bites his lip as if he’s holding his breath, waiting for my answer.
“So, if I want to stay, I’d need clothes for dinner and an overnight stay.”
“Or a few things for several nights stay.” He moves until he hovers over me. “Or clothes for one night and we can order out.”
I lay my hands against his hard chest, licking my dry lips as he watches the path my tongue takes across them. “I’ll play it by ear.”
“All right.” His eyes burn a trail down my body to where my skirt has ridden up my thighs. “Do you always wear lace panties?”
“Uh huh.” I groan as he scoots down the bed between my legs. His hands slide up my legs to the hem, pushing it higher. I lay there under his scrutiny. A warm rush of air heats my pussy as he lowers his head.
“I really like these panties, Miss Morgan.” He places a soft kiss on them. “But I thought you didn’t like panties?” He peers up at me.
“I-I don’t. I wear them to work but nowhere else.”
“This is nowhere else.” His puckered mouth releases another gush of heated breath.
“My word.” My chest heaves with a heavy sigh. “I hadn’t planned to be here with you when I got dressed yesterday.”
“I see.” He blows on my pussy again. “Plan on that from now on, okay?” He hooks his fingers in each side before it dawns on me what he’s doing.
“Oh, good lord.” I fist the sheets beneath me. “Yes.”
His gaze flickers between mine and my panties. “I want these.”
“Umm, why?” I raise my head to peek at him, only to fall back when he presses his mouth against me.
“To remind me every day this week, you’ll be here Friday without them between us.” His voice is raspy, and all I can see is his dreamy blue eyes between my legs.
“Dammit.” I hit the bed with my hand. “Take them.” I raise up on my elbows. “But for the record, the next time you’re down there, it’ll be neat and freshly showered. Now, fuck me I can’t believe I’m saying this, get your face outta my pussy.” I flail, slamming back into the mattress.
He laughs and climbs up my body, his hands on both sides of me, blocking my escape. “Baby, I’ll keep my face in your pussy as soon as you say the word.”
“Now you tell me?” I stammer.
“I want us to take our time, Reese. I don’t think I’d survive fucking this up.” He leans in, placing his lips on my jaw. “Chemistry’s our best subject. Let’s work on all the rest.”
I buck from the contact, squeezing my thighs. “Sounds good.”
“Bathroom is that way, clothes are there if you need anything, and I’ll make some coffee.” He bends to my ear, whispering, “Thank you for being here.”
My legs waiver as he slides from between them, staring at my bare pussy.
I watch his perfect ass walk away from me. The sinew of every muscle, defining the smallest of movements. The minute he’s outta sight, I scramble for the bathroom. I slap at the light switch, rushing to see what I look like. “Fuck! You have to be kidding me?”
I have raccoon eyes from hell. A path of drool is crusted on my jaw. One boob is practically hanging out. Cupping my hand, I take a quick check of my breath. “Oh, no. Did I eat dog food last night? Cheese! Why are you so good?”
I freeze when I hear a sound from the behind the door. “Hey, are you okay?”
I stare at the wreck standing before me. “Yep. All good in here.”
“Do you need anything?” He asks.
“Naw, I’m good. Thanks.”
“All right. Coffee’s ready when you are. No hurry though,” he calls through the door.
“Wonderful,” I answer, dragging my fingers through my hair, trying to make it look less like a rat’s nest.
I listen at the door. As soon as I can tell he’s walking away, I spring into action. “Reese, you can do this.” I give myself a pep talk as I pull myself together at neck-breaking speed. I grab the toothpaste, squeezing it onto my fingers. I shove it in my mouth, rubbing vigorously.
I rinse my mouth before splashing my face with the warm water. I take the corner of the inside of my blouse to clean up my eyes. Going from Rocky after the fight to Adrian before it. I pull my skirt up higher with a determination of making my girl fresh.
I soap my hands lightly, filling them with water so there’s not much irritation after. I wash up as best as I can. That’s a whore’s bath for sure. I pat her dry with toilet paper, tossing it in the toilet to be flushed. I borrow some deodorant and leave a tad bit fresher than when I walked in.
I stick my head out from behind the door. “Are we alone?”
He looks up from his phone, his eyes glistening in the morning sun. “We are. It’s still early.”
I stumble into the room. “Do I smell The Gods of the Coffee Bean?”
“You do but I’m not sure how you take it, so I got a little of everything out. Donna loves this stuff in hers.” He pushes the flavored creamer at me.
“Thank you but I’ll take it straight, sir.” My heart quickens when he doesn’t take his eyes off me. “What?”
“I like you. I like you a lot.” He wiggles his brows.
“Right back atcha, babe.” I sip the dark libation from the cup, happy to help clean my breath up.
“I had a thought I wanted to run past you.” He folds the paper, laying it to the side as he straightens in his seat.
“This sounds serious. I’m not sure I’m functioning enough for it.”
“Let’s say we allow the judge to decide what gets done with the property.”
I narrow my eyes at him. “Isn’t that defeating the purpose?”
“You said you know the latest draft couldn’t get much better.” He inclines his head.
“Agreed. It was pretty good.”
“So, we give him all three proposals.” He raises his brows until the light clicks above my head. We begin nodding together.
“He’ll pick the last draft and we’ll all win.”
“I’m afraid The Historical Society won’t be happy. How do you feel about it?” He leans in, a crease appearing on his forehead.
“It’s fine, Walker. I’ve done my level best to get them exactly what they want but it’s not fair to ask DII to give so much. They’re being unreasonable.”
“So, it’s a go?” he asks.
“Absolutely. Let’s do it. Time to put this to bed.”
“I need to jump in the shower. Will you wait until I’m out?” He stands, taking his cup to the sink.
“I really should go. I need to shower and try to pull myself together.”
“Oh. You’re scared you’ll be seen?”
My stomach flips at the mere idea. I shudder. “Yes. Walk of shame is not my style.”
“I understand. Let me see you out.” He jerks a shirt off the chair beside me. “Ma’am.”
“Why, thank you.” We walk down the stairs slowly.
“This isn’t permanent.” He waves his hand at the building.
“No? I like it. I was quite surprised how you have it set up.”
“I wanted to be away from everyone for a while and this fit the bill.” He shrugs, unlocking the door for us to get out.
“But we’re all done with self-imposed shit, right?”
He spins me, pinning me against my Jeep. “I’m not sure. A self-imposed sex weekend locked away from everyone might be what the doctor ordered.”
“In that case, I offer my body up in the name of science and research. Do with me what you will.”
He takes my hands, locking them behind me in one of his. “I promise you, I will have you.” He brushes my hair to the side, wrapping his hand around the nape of my neck. After a slight hesitation, he takes my mouth with no more force than that of a whisper.
His lips soft and yielding, yet another aspect of this man I’m falling hard and fast for. Walker’s lips sweep across mine with care, tender and sweet. Everything I knew he could be. My face flushes. I swear I can feel my heartbeat in my ears.
I lay my head on his chest, praying I don’t hit the ground. “You’re so unexpected.”
He rubs my back, sending goosebumps spiraling over my body. “I’d follow you anywhere, Reese.” A car pulls in and I’m overcome with embarrassment. Hauling him into me, I bury my face into his chest. “Good morning, Donna.” Walker’s voice is low, like a growl.
“Good morning, Walker. Miss Morgan.” I’m stunned but find my manners. I lift my head as she hurries past.
“Hello, Donna. It’s good to meet you.” I offer her my hand to Walker’s approval. He likes her. His face lights up when she takes my hand.
“Wonderful to finally meet you. Walker talks about you fondly.”
I can’t stop myself. “Ha! I knew it.” I jump from excitement.
“Excuse me?” Donna frowns.
“He acts like he doesn’t like me. I knew better.”
“Yeah, yeah. Anyway, you need to get home.” Walker steps away, grabbing my door handle.
“See you later, Donna.” I wave and step into my car.
“Be careful and text me when you get there.” He kisses me. “And at lunch.” He kisses me again. “And on breaks.” He kisses me for the last time.
“I will. Bye, Walker.” He shuts my door and I switch on the ignition.
I pull away, turning onto Highway Seventeen with Walker in my mirror. “No way in hell is this my real life.” I plug my dead phone in at the first stop light. At the first sign of life, it buzzes with a hundred incoming texts. I glance at the next light, cringing when I see who it is.
“Shit! Alden.”
I park in my usual spot to be met at my door by Alden. “Where in the hell have you been?”
“Sorry, Walker’s. My phone died and we fell asleep.”
“Young lady, did you sleep with that man?” He winks at me as I hurry through the door, tossing things everywhere.”
“I did!” I yell from the bathroom. “But we didn’t have sex. We cuddled.”
“No fucking way?” Alden shouts through the door.
“He carried me to bed after I fell asleep on his couch. I woke up, draped in gorgeous man.”
“And he didn’t try anything?” he says loudly.
“He took my panties.”
“How’d he get them?” I swing the door wide with my toothbrush in my hand.
“He asked, I allowed him to take them.” His mouth pops open. “I was mortified. I had those things on for a while,” I say before shoving the brush in my mouth.
“Helluva man, brave if nothing else.” He chuckles as I spit.
“Anyway, I’ll be home tonight and give you all the details.” I wander into my closet, tossing clothes.
“Did you eat? Where’d he take you?” he asks.
I step out with grey slacks and a black shirt on. “He cooked. And kissed me a million times this morning.”
“This morning? No wonder you didn’t get laid. He didn’t try last night?” A line forms between his eyes.
“No, but it’s the way it should’ve been. We had a ton to talk about.” I twist my hair on my head, grab my makeup bag and rush to the door.
“You talked? All night?” He folds his arms over his chest.
“We did. Well, until I fell asleep.” I kiss his cheek. “I gotta run. Dinner? I’ll text you.” I wave over my head as I run to my Jeep.
