4. Enzo

Enzo

“So, which one of you is going to tell us exactly what the deal with the four of you is?” Ronan asks, pointing at the four of us as we all stand in our kitchen.

The doctor left a few minutes ago after checking over Sebastian and Josephine.

Joe just needed a few stitches in her cheek, and Seb has a mild concussion, but other than that they’re fine, and she’s now taking a hot bath in his bathroom.

John is currently chained up in one of the interrogation rooms we have on the floor below us.

Like our penthouse, only we are able to access it.

But unlike the penthouse, you also need a key to be able to leave it.

So if by some miracle, someone we have locked up in there is able to break through their binds, there’s no way they’d be able to leave anyway.

Oh… and it’s completely soundproof.

Oddly enough… the rooms down there are much like the ones the three men staring daggers at us have.

Neither Dante, Seb, nor I say anything as we wait for Luca to take the lead on this conversation.

Between him and Ronan, he is definitely the more light-hearted of the two; they both stand head-to-head, arms crossed across their chest. But I can see, based on the profile of his face, that Luca is fighting a grin as the corners of his mouth twitch.

“Will one of you just spill. He’ll do this all day,” his younger brother says with a roll of his eyes. “Our wife’s the only one who ever gets him to cave.”

Finn snorts as he tries to cover up a laugh.

“I’m surprised the three of you haven’t asked sooner, honestly. Especially after everything with Harper.”

“How is my Bella, by the way?”

Ronan averts his stare and pins it on me. “I am not opposed to decking you in the face.”

“Lorenzo…” Sebastian sighs as I just chuckle.

Ronan refocuses on Luca. “Quite honestly, I didn’t care to ask.

You helped us when we needed it, and it has never become an issue.

I figured you’d tell me when the time is right.

But considering you ran through the streets in broad daylight today doing something that…

well, quite frankly… we would do, I’m starting to think now’s the time. ”

Luca hesitates for a moment, and I know how big of a deal this is.

Because outside of Luca’s dad, Pascal, and Josephine, we’ve never told anyone.

It’s how we’ve stayed alive this long. It’s how we’ve been able to accomplish everything we’ve accomplished.

However, we all know that after today, the anonymity of the darker part of our lives is no longer a secret.

None of us have checked our phones, but I am one hundred percent certain they are filled with calls, texts, and emails from Vittori Enterprise’s public relations team, reporters, investigators, and friends and family.

No one knows we’re The Horsemen… for now…

but every news outlet in New York City and across the rest of the country is spreading photographs and stories about everything that happened today.

Be that as it may, Sebastian and Joe are home, and they are safe…

so I know not a single one of us regrets our choices this afternoon.

However, like I knew he was going to, Luca sighs and answers, “Alright. Let’s go sit down.”

“Can we at least order dinner first?” I interject before anybody moves. “I’m fucking starving, and I know Big Daddy over here is probably due for his first dinner of the evening.”

“One of these days I am going to shove my foot so far up your ass,” Dante grumbles.

“Or you could shove something else up—”

“Don’t.” He points his meaty finger at me, and I can’t help the grin that splits my face.

“This is interesting,” Mac says as he points between the two of us with a devious smile. “I’d like to see more of this.”

“Don’t encourage him,” Luca says to Mac before looking back at me. “And yes, you can order dinner.” Then he winks at me and makes his way over to the couch.

A second later I feel Seb at my side, and his lips graze against my ear. “Beef and broccoli, please.”

“Who said I was getting Chinese?” His teeth clamp onto my earlobe, and a hiss leaves my lips. “Alright. Chinese it is.”

Seb plants a soft kiss on my neck just below my ear and whispers, “Good boy.”

Thank god the two of them didn’t die.
