Chapter 10

I Set The Boundary, You Follow

PRYCE

For the first time in six months, I just woke up.

Not because my alarm had prompted me or because my mind had been running ahead of me.

It had actually quieted overnight, allowing my body to rest. It took me a second to realize why until I looked over to see Adai cuddled at my side.

The sheets that she’d hogged last night lay halfway across her body, exposing a little titty meat and a little belly.

Sliding my hand under the sheet, I put my arm around her waist and pulled her as close to me as her belly would allow. She shifted, moving her head so that her face was nestled into my neck. That small movement felt familiar. Only it was a move I usually did.

“You up early.” She spoke quietly into my skin. “You okay?”

I chuckled inwardly while rubbing her back. Every time I did something that she felt was out of the norm, she’d asked if I was okay.

“I’m good,” I assured her. “You sleep okay?”

“Like a baby,” she replied. “But not like our baby. Our baby has absolutely no respect for my sleep.”

I rubbed her belly and kissed her cheek.

“My legs are a little sore.”

I smirked. “That’s what happens when you get up on a horse in your condition.”

She looked up at me and smiled, squeezing my dick under the covers. “I made that horse spit while I was up there though. Didn’t I?”

I nodded, kissing the tip of her nose. “Rode that muhfucka like you was a professional.”

She pecked my lips and put her face back in my neck.

Being back inside of her again felt like having my own little slice of Heaven.

Everything felt the same but better. Her pussy felt warmer, wetter, and tighter.

I assumed it had a lot to do with her being pregnant.

And as soon as I found out for sure, I had every intention on plugging her up again.

“I’m gonna call the doctor’s office in a minute to make the appointment,” she said after a few seconds of breathing into my neck.

“Sounds good. You going to your regular pussy doctor, or were you getting someone new?”

“Why do you call her that? Is it so hard to just say GYN?”

“Nope. Not hard at all. I just like the way pussy doctor sounds. Now, are you going to the same one?”

“Yes. I am.”

“You wanna find out what we’re having?”

She lifted her head and nodded quick. “I do. And I was hoping you wanted to.”

“Yeah. I wanna know who I’m getting prepared for.” Whether a boy or girl, it didn’t matter to me. I just didn’t want to be surprised.

“I wanna do a reveal. Something special for the family.”

“Like what? And before you ask, yes, you can have whatever you want after the way you threw that pussy at me last night.”

“I figured you’d feel that way.” She winked and sat up on the bed.

I looked up at her sitting with her back against the headboard. I’d fucked her hair up. Her bun was now a loose ponytail. The glow on her face seemed to be permanent though.

“What do you think about a maternity shoot/gender reveal?”

“I gotta get dressed up? I ain’t tryna have my feet out and shit.”

She laughed, resting her hand on her belly. “I mean, you don’t have to wear a suit. You do have to let me dress you. And no, your feet won’t be out.”

“Aight.” I agreed reluctantly.

Pictures weren’t my thing. I was a live in the moment type of guy. But this was my first born. And after missing out on the first six months of memories, it made sense to capture the last few.

“Awww, forreal?” she asked, sliding back down in the bed, facing me.

I reached up and brushed my thumb over her nipple. She hitched in a breath but kept her eyes on me.

“Yes,” I replied, my dick swelling as her nipples hardened.

“I’m hungry,” she crooned.

Pulling back, I snatched what little sheet she allowed me to have off and made my dick jump. “You want me to feed it to you?”

“Later. Right now, me and the baby want salmon croquets, grits, eggs, and corned beef hash from Sullivan’s Diner. You would be such an amazing daddy if you took us to get it.”

“Aye, don’t mention my baby while my dick is out. That shit weird.” I covered myself back up.

She laughed. “Your mind is the one that’s in the gutter. I was strictly talking about food. Can we go to Sullivan’s please?”

“Yeah, greedy. Let me hit the shower real quick then we can slide by your crib so you can change and pick up whatever necessities you need.” I got up and headed for the bathroom.

“Necessities?” she questioned.

I stopped and turned back to her. “I want you here where I can keep an eye on y’all for the remaining duration of your pregnancy. We can talk about living arrangements once the baby gets here.”

Now that Dai was back and pregnant, I had no desire to live in separate households. And I didn’t do visitation. So, I wasn’t about to shuffle my child back and forth between two houses.

She sat up a little, resting her head on her arm. “Oh, now that you’ve played in the pussy pool, you’re making living arrangements? What if I don’t wanna live with you just yet? What if I don’t wanna live here?”

I crossed my arms on my chest, dick out but my posture serious.

“Number one, I ain’t never played in that pussy, Dai.

Every stroke has always been serious. I got the marks on my back to prove it.

Number two, I never envisioned myself living separate from my child.

If you don’t wanna live here, cool. Go house shopping.

Just make sure we have a backyard with a fenced in pool and a man cave for when I need to get away from you and everybody else with my baby. ”

She launched a pillow at me, and I dodged it. “You did not have to say that last part.”

I laughed. “Remember the nigga you fell in love with.”

“Whateva,” she said, rolling her eyes.

“Real shit though. I need y’all close, and I hope you don’t fight me on it.”

“I’m fine with it. I just wanted to see if you were gonna do your normal Pryce thing.

And you didn’t. You considered me and the baby.

You also provided reasoning that doesn’t only make sense for you but for both of us.

” A wide grin spread across her face like she was proud.

“Do we go half and half on the bills? Or you take the mortgage, and I take the utilities? Either way is fine with me.”

“Dai, go half and half on these nuts and stop playin’ wit’ me.”

She burst out laughing, unable to keep a straight face.

Adai knew damn well we weren’t going half and half on shit.

The mortgage payment on her condo had been on autopay from my account since the first month after I met her and even while she’d been gone.

The only thing she had to upkeep was her business.

And that was only because she insisted on doing so.

“Just pissed you off.” She laughed. “But speaking of your nuts, I don’t want to have to worry about any uninvited guest seeing as you are moving me in here.” She tried to take an indirect shot, so I responded directly.

“The one person that I have fucked outside of you since you’ve been gone has never seen the inside of my car, let alone the inside of this house.” I made clear.

She nodded, but the skepticism was written all over her face. “I hear you. Can you grab my purse from the car before you shower, so I can call the doctor? The keys are probably on the floor near the door.”

“Aight.”

Picking my boxers up from the floor, I put them on, along with my robe.

Downstairs, I found her car keys next to the door where she said they’d be.

Hitting the lock on her key fob to unlock the door, I grabbed her purse.

As I went to pick it up, I didn’t realize how it was positioned, causing some of the contents to fall out.

Her wallet, phone, and a couple other items ended up on the side of the driver’s seat.

“Damn,” I said out loud, reaching down to retrieve them.

Making sure I had everything, I went to toss them back in the purse when her phone chimed. Looking at the screen, the notification was a text from a Trill, the rapper nigga I remembered from the blog. I read the preview of the message and instantly got hot.

Trill: What it do, shawty? You don’t had a nigga on ice fa fo’ days now. I think you proved that you ain’t goin’ fa no bullshit. I respect that. I miss the fuck outchu. Call me soon, bae.

If I held onto her phone any tighter, I was sure I'd break the screen. Slamming her door closed, I locked the car and went inside the house. When I walked back inside the room, she was up with her dress on, trying to zip it.

“The way this baby seems to be growing by the minute don’t make no sense. I was just able to zip this up last night. Now, I’m struggling. Ain’t that crazy?”

I didn’t respond, but she kept talking with her head down, completely oblivious.

“You know, I’ll just shower here, throw something on of yours, then change at my house.”

When she finally glanced up, she looked confused by my stance. “What’s wrong?”

“What you tell this Trill nigga?”

“What you mean what I tell him?”

“I mean, he texted ya phone on some I miss you shit, and I’m just about as confused as you look.”

She sighed. “I haven’t said anything to him yet.”

“There’s no time like the present,” I replied, handing her the phone and purse. “I won’t be long.”

I wasn’t about to stand over there and monitor her. This wasn’t about no jealousy shit. This was about boundaries. And I would put a hole in a nigga if he crossed mine.

The ride to Dai’s house was quiet, and the ride to the diner was even quieter.

I knew she was holding back what she really wanted to say about the Trill situation, and it was burning her up not to.

That was the thing with Dai. She never wanted to leave anything unsettled.

Hell, she barely wanted to give a nigga a chance to process.

She liked to address situations head on.

Sometimes, that worked for me. Most of the time, it didn’t.
