Avni slowly stood with Aarav's help and that's when Preet felt her eyes burning with tears when her gaze fell on her huge round baby bump. She couldn't stop herself from crying in happiness and turned around hiding her tears from everyone.
"Preet," Veer softly called to which she looked at him with tears and hugged him hiding her face in his chest.
"Bhabhi, please don't be angry. I really missed you and you know more than me your naughty cutie pie missed you. Whenever I talk to the baby about you, he always kicks me in excitement. And when I told him that his/her Badi Ma is not coming for the baby shower,
I think it got really angry and since then troubling me so much," Avni said while crying and slowly walked to her and Veer.
Preet cried silently hearing Avni and Veer smiledled sadly looking at Avni. He felt bad for not allowing Preet to meet Avni, hurting both of them.
Veer slowly pulls Preet from the hug and wipes her tears while smiling at her. He slowly makes her face Avni, who is smiling with tears in her eyes.
Preet sniffed, wiping her tears before standing in front of her.
"I was scared, you stupid girl" she said lightly smacking her head earning a pout from her before she gave her sheepish look.
"Sorry.." She said holding her ears but Preet hugged her and kissed her head.
Veer smiles at them and is quite shocked and unaware of the beautiful bond they both share.
Aarav comes to him and hugs him tightly, taking him by surprise. Smacking his head, Veer hugs him back and pat his back before they pull away.
"Thank you for coming Bhai," he said, making Veer feel bad about his decision not to come. But seeing their longing and love, he can't help but want to enjoy a little with them after they are the one who truly keep him alive till now.
Their eyes move to Preet and Avni, hearing them laughing. A smile formed in their faces seeing their wife happy.
"Oh god!! You see…baby kicks," Preet felt overwhelmed, feeling the baby kicking where she placed her hand.
"Badi Ma loves my Cutie pie. Come soon Meri Jaan," she said lovingly and gently stroked Avni's baby bump. Avni grins seeing Preet loving her baby.
"Guys, talk later. We have a baby shower to celebrate, Come on!" Anaya announces and claps her hand making everyone look at her.
"Shit!! I forget. But I didn't even get ready. Oh god!! What should I do now!!" Avni panicked to which Aarav rolled his eyes at his dramatic wife.
"Relax, Avni. Let's get you ready then, hmm," Preet said, making her calm down a little.
Preet looked at Veer, who nodded understanding her gaze, and smiled at her.
Her face glows up in happiness before she goes with Anaya and Avni.
Aarav again hugged him after they were alone in the hall, making Veer smile at him.
"I love you Bhai," he said happily.
"You should, my stupid brother," Veer playfully said, earning a pout from him.
"Who would say you are soon going to have a baby? You, yourself, are such a baby," He teases making Aarav whine.
"Bhaii!!" he let out a whine as he stormed his feet proofing Veer's point.
"How is Dadi?" Preet asked while she was making Avni's hair. Avni sighs sadly, looking at her in the mirror.
"She cut off everyone from herself. She shifted to a village, I don't know if it is permanent. But Anaya told me that after you and Veer Bhai left, she caged herself in her room. But after days she then went to the village. Mom didn't even know about her departure for 2 days.
I called her yesterday and asked her to come for the Baby Shower but she politely refused saying she is not in a state to face anyone. I felt bad hearing her voice break when she said how much she wished to celebrate my baby shower grandly but she couldn't.
She keeps apologizing for not being a good grandmother. I don't know what happened to her but clearly she is going through something bad," Avni told her and sigh sadly remembering her talk with Damini in which they both cried.
"Bhabhi, why is my baby so unlucky to not have everyone when he/she will come to this world?" Avni said with a heavy voice as she stared at Preet with teary eyes.
"Don't! My baby is not unlucky. My cutie pie will get all the love and happiness it deserves. We are with you and Aarav distance doesn't matter, Avni. This baby has already made a sweet corner in my heart and I am sure Veer will love him to the moon and back. After all,
he/she is his baby brother's baby. Choti Ma and Chote Papa will pamper this little human with everything they have. He/she has the most loving grandparent. And beautiful and fun loving Bua. Now don't ever say that you no one can save you from me, understand?"
Avni hugged her waist as she was sitting on the stool.
She cries, feeling so lucky to have Preet.
"Stop crying now or you will spoil your makeup," Preet said and comforted her. She gently dab tissue paper to clean her tears.
"Bhabhis, are you ready!!" Anaya runs inside and shouts.
Preet smiled and nodded at her.
"Let's go then," Preet said but suddenly flinched badly when both of them shouted loudly.
"No!!" She frowned and gave them a confused look.
"Why? Is there something left?" she asked genuinely.
Both Anaya and Anvi nodded their heads and looked at each other communicating through their eyes which confused Preet more.
"You, Bhabhi!!"They said in unison and then smirked, staring at her.
Aarav was looking at the last-minute arrangement to make sure everything was okay. While Veer is talking to his boss making excuses for his sudden leave. Well being in the good book of his boss, he sure has advantages.
Suddenly the doorbell rings making Veer look at the door. He hung up the call saying thank you to his boss and walked toward the door to open it.
He opened the door but seeing the person on the doorstep he still for a second. That's why he was reluctant to come here knowing the consequences, now there is nothing he could do.
