Chapter 35 #2
I nodded as his lips once again met mine.
This time, there was no hesitancy as he guided my back to the bed, pausing to lift me up on the edge as his hands roamed over my shirt.
I was momentarily worried he would find the dagger beneath my bodice, but it seemed he was much more interested in undoing the laces of my breeches than groping my breasts.
“Oh, Runa,” he moaned for the second time in the brief moment his lips left mine, his lower body pressing into mine. I could feel his thick length there, and my body craved him, despite the fact that my brain was a bit repulsed.
Then the laces of my pants and boots were undone and he was tossing them aside and pulling my shirt over my head. I helped him remove my bodice, ensuring the dagger remained tucked inside as I set the clothing aside.
I was panting, wearing nothing but my undershorts as his eyes appraised me.
“You’re the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” I could feel he wasn’t lying this time as only honesty and admiration flowed off of him. It was all I could do to nod at the compliment as I reached for the buttons on his shirt.
His hand delved between my legs, his hands rubbing me through my undergarments. It was hard to focus on the buttons as he increased his pace and a moan fell from my lips.
“You like that, hm?”
It was all I could do to nod my consent as he knelt down to unlace his boots. Then he was pulling his shirt off, the last two buttons I had yet to get to popping off and rolling across the floor.
“Uh . . .” I tried to apologize, but the words wouldn’t come.
“I’ll have someone sew them back on.” His voice was husky as he turned his attention to his pants, motioning for me to scoot up on the bed.
Although I was still horribly conflicted about Leif, even I couldn’t pretend the way he slipped off his pants, and undergarments, then climbed over me on the bed wasn’t the most attractive thing I had ever seen.
Though I was still mad about his lying, Leif did have the body most men dreamt of. The only man I could even think of that would be hotter was Otho.
The moment the name filtered through my mind, I pushed it away. This was not the time to be thinking about the general, who already had a partner.
Leif pushed my undershirt up, exposing my breasts, his mouth coming down to one nipple while his hand kneaded the other. I hoped there was no one outside the door as I couldn’t restrain the noises that burst from my lips.
Without pausing his kneading, Leif used his other hand to pull my bottom undergarment off, revealing my glistening lips to the cool evening air.
He pressed his lips to my clit, the feeling so delicious I was arching my back and bucking off the bed. It felt so good and I needed more.
The hand that had pulled off my undergarments disappeared between my legs and as he pushed one finger into me, I couldn’t help but thread my hands through his hair, pushing his face closer to where I craved him.
Time blurred as I lost myself in the pleasure, and soon I was tumbling over the edge, my body spasming as I found relief from the tension.
I was so lost in the explosion of pleasure I didn’t even notice I had closed my eyes until after I felt him nudging his cock at my entrance.
“Are you ready?” he whispered.
“Yes.” It was impossible to keep the hunger from my voice as he slid in, a groan coming from his lips as he positioned himself over me.
Where there had been pain before, there was only pleasure now, and I couldn’t keep my hands from roaming his body as he began thrusting.
I wrapped my legs around his back to encourage him to move faster, and the friction of my clit on his abdomen swiftly had me approaching the edge a second time. Before I could warn him, my inside walls were gripping him.
“That’s my girl,” he whispered into the side of my neck before increasing his pace. Then, he tensed, and his cock jerked inside me.
“Oh, Runa.” His voice was filled with an emotion I didn’t recognize as he collapsed on top of me, breathing heavily.
Whatever had been coursing through my veins that had led to this encounter faded fast and just as I had been so sure about seducing him before, I now wasn’t sure of anything.
Why did he just say my name and not the nickname he had given me before?
And why didn’t he seem worried about a potion to keep me from becoming pregnant as Otho had?
And why was Otho’s name in my head again?
I shook it to dispel the thoughts, trying to remain present in the moment in the warmth that encased me.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yeah,” I lied, forcing my lips into a smile. “That was . . . amazing.” I hoped he couldn’t see how I was forcing it.
“It was.” He smiled as he moved out of me, standing to cross the room to grab a rag.
I knew I should just ask, break the wall between us, plead for the answers to my questions, but I couldn’t bring myself to ruin the moment as he gently cleaned between my legs.
Then, he tossed the rag off to the side before climbing back into bed next to me and pulling me to his chest. “I’m so glad you came back. ” He breathed into my hair.
“Me too,” I lied.
It didn’t take long for his breathing to even out, his chest rising and falling in slumber.
But though it was likely late, I found myself unable to sleep, and instead spent the night lying on my back and staring at the ceiling.
How could this feel so right to him, yet so wrong to me?
