Chapter 16 #2
As they neared their destination, Brick stopped in the middle of the trail. It was somewhat overgrown, as it was a lesser-used trail on the property, which was more than all right with him. “We’re almost there. Do you trust me?”
“Yes.”
Her response was immediate and made his belly do somersaults.
There were very few people he trusted with his life…
and this woman was definitely on the short list. He’d seen firsthand how loyal she was when she’d lied to get to him in Germany…
and he hadn’t known even the tip of the iceberg of how incredible she was back then.
“Close your eyes,” he told her.
She did so immediately, and he loved the small smile that formed on her lips. He pulled her closer and wrapped her hand around his arm. She snuggled against him as he started walking again. Brick made sure to avoid the roots in the path as they made their way forward.
He steered her off the trail through some tall grass. It took about another two minutes to get to where he wanted to go. A large rock seemingly placed strategically at the optimum spot.
“Sit here,” he said quietly as he led Alaska to the rock. It was curved on one side, creating a short backrest. He’d always mentally called it the Sitting Rock. Once she was seated, he shrugged off the backpack with their dinner and eased himself down next to her.
“Can I open my eyes yet?” she asked impatiently.
Brick smiled. “Yup.”
Instead of looking at the view in front of them, Brick kept his gaze on her face. Alaska blinked a few times, trying to get her eyes to adjust to the light, but then her mouth dropped open.
“Holy crap, Drake. This is amazing!”
It was. The view from this spot was unparalleled.
The forest seemed to open up in front of them.
They were on a ridge, and could literally see for miles.
The view from Table Rock was nice, but this outdid it four hundred percent.
There was nothing to see but trees. Thousands of acres of wilderness.
The first time he’d found this spot, Brick had been amazed there was still a part of the country that was uninhabited like this.
As if it was completely untouched by humans at all.
Of course, he knew there were probably houses out there.
Pockets of civilization. But he liked to think of it as virgin territory.
Where animals could roam freely, where the Native Americans reigned not so long ago.
Out there, men weren’t fighting wars. Weren’t doing horrible things to one another.
There were no drug problems, no rapes, no men and women getting killed by illegal firearms.
It was a fantasy, Brick knew that. But sitting here, looking out at the land, breathing in the fresh air, he could easily imagine it. And seeing Alaska’s reaction to his favorite place to hide when he was struggling was everything he’d hoped it would be.
He took hold of her hand and they sat there for long minutes, soaking in the view, listening to the sounds of the forest around them, and simply being in the moment.
“Thank you for showing this to me,” Alaska said quietly after a while. “It’s…it makes me feel as if my problems are so small. That the world is so much…bigger than me. And believe it or not, that makes me feel better.”
“Same,” Brick said.
She lay her head on his shoulder and they sat there for a few more minutes in silence before he asked, “Hungry?”
Just then her stomach growled, and they both chuckled.
“Guess that answers that.” Brick grabbed the backpack he’d put on the ground earlier, and they ate their sandwiches while enjoying the pristine view.
When the sun started to sink lower in the sky, he said, “We should probably get back so we aren’t hiking in the dark.”
“You have a flashlight?” she asked.
“Yes.”
“Then I’d love to stay and watch the sun set completely,” she said. “If you think it’s safe.”
“It’s safe,” he said without hesitation. He wanted to say more. To explain exactly why she was safe on their property…but he and his friends had made the decision not to disclose all of the resort’s secrets to anyone.
“I know,” Alaska said with a nod. “I’m with you, so I know it’s safe.”
A love so intense it was almost painful swept through Brick. He needed this woman. Now. More than he could put into words.
Luckily, the rock they were sitting on was long and wide.
Not quite long enough to fit his entire body, but he didn’t care.
He set aside the backpack and turned, stretching out on his back next to her.
He undid his belt and the zipper on his pants, lifted his ass and shoved them down so his cock sprang free.
Alaska licked her lips as she stared at him.
“Fuck me, Alaska. I need you.”
She didn’t protest, simply reached for her own belt.
She straddled him, keeping her feet flat on the hard rock under them to protect her knees, and balanced herself by putting a hand on his belly.
Having her take him like this, on top, the last of the sun’s rays enveloping them in their warmth as it sank behind the trees on the horizon, Brick felt almost primal. How many other men had made love to their women in the forest beyond their perch above the trees?
He was about to open his mouth, to tell Alaska to touch herself to make sure she could take him without pain, but his woman was way ahead of him. She used one hand to rub her clit and the other to grasp his cock in her tight grip and stroke.
It didn’t take long before they were both ready.
When Alaska finally sank down on him, it was all Brick could do not to blow right then and there.
Her gaze alternated between looking into his eyes, down at where they were joined, and to the beautiful setting sun.
But Brick couldn’t take his eyes off his woman.
He could understand how someone might think she was plain at first glance; Alaska actively avoided any kind of attention or spotlight.
But to anyone looking, her beauty shone from within, so clear and vivid.
It was in the small sounds she made as she moved on top of him.
How she cared about her job. How she always had a kind word to say to Robert, or the women who cleaned the cabins, or his friends.
The light within her was so bright, sometimes it amazed him he could look at her and not be blinded by its brilliance.
He didn’t need coifed hair or painted fingernails. A perfect body and flashy clothes. He just needed her. Exactly how she was. A woman who accepted Brick fully, with all his faults.
“Drake,” she breathed. “This is…I’m close!” Her voice quivered. Thigh muscles bunched as she used them to pump herself up and down on his erection.
He didn’t rush her. Simply let her set the pace and find her release in her own sweet time.
He was enjoying watching the way the orange of the setting sun flirted with her hair, bouncing around her shoulders as she moved on him.
He loved hearing the gasps and moans that escaped her lips.
Watching a sunset would never be the same.
Ever. He’d remember this moment for the rest of his life.
Being at this spot had taken on a new meaning as well. It was no longer simply a place he’d run to when his demons overwhelmed him. It was the place where he and Alaska were together for the first time after declaring their love for each other.
As soon as her muscles tensed around his cock and she leaned toward him, Brick moved. He grasped her hips tightly and began to pound into her from below. She bounced precariously in his grip, but there was no way he was going to let go, no way she’d get hurt when she was with him.
He fucked her hard and fast, pushing through her tightening muscles as she orgasmed around him. Each thrust felt as if she was strangling his cock, and the sex was raw. Intense.
As the last rays of the sun disappeared, Brick thrust once more and filled the woman he loved to the brim.
It felt as if he would never stop coming.
He could even feel his release leaking out of her and onto his balls as he held himself inside her as far as he could get.
She crumpled onto his chest as if boneless, and Brick held her tightly as they both tried to catch their breaths.
“Holy crap,” she breathed after a few minutes had passed. “That was…”
“Perfect,” Brick finished for her.
“Exactly. I can’t say outdoor sex was ever on my bucket list, but it should’ve been.”
Brick grinned. He couldn’t help but feel a little cocky. “Your legs feel okay? That position had to have been a little awkward.”
“Legs? I have legs?” she quipped against his throat.
This time when he chuckled, his cock slipped out of her warm heat. She moaned.
Brick agreed. There was no place he loved being more in the world than buried deep within her body.
As much as he wanted to lie there and bask in the most amazing sex he’d ever had…now that the sun had set, it would get chilly. And dark. It got really dark on The Refuge. And he’d much rather be holding Alaska in their nice comfortable bed instead of on this piece of rock.
“Give me a second and I’ll grab you something to clean up with,” Brick told her, sitting up with her still in his lap.
He held her against him as he fumbled for the backpack and extra napkins.
Alaska relaxed on his lap and didn’t try to assist. Brick couldn’t help but grin. “Where’d the woman go who’s always so eager to do her part? Who wants to help even when I want to spoil her?” he asked.
“You fucked her into submission.”
Brick could feel her smile against his shoulder. He laughed. “That’s all it takes to make you do what I tell you to?”
“Maybe,” she told him.
Without a word, he reached between them and ran the napkins between her legs.
That got her moving. She sat up and leaned back. “I can do that,” she told him.
“I got it,” he said, brushing her hand aside. “It’s only fair.”
