Chapter 28 Coronation Day

Emily's POV

It had been two weeks since Noah and I returned from the Silver Moon pack, and I was still floating on clouds from the joy of being reunited with my family.

The time had finally come for us to take our rightful place as Alpha King and Luna Queen, marking a new chapter in our lives.

I couldn't shake the thrill from last week when I finally mustered the courage to tell Noah that I was pregnant.

His reaction was nothing short of overwhelming; he scooped me up, spun me around with uncontainable excitement, exclaiming, "We're having a pup!

" The radiant smile on his face chased away my fears that he might not be ready for the responsibilities of fatherhood so soon.

As I prepared for the day, I was surrounded by my ladies-in-waiting who worked diligently to make me look regal.

One of the women was perfecting my hair, leaving it cascading in beautiful curls while pulling back the front to frame my face elegantly.

Another lady assisted me into my stunning red gown, a princess-style dress fit for royalty.

I sometimes struggled to accept that I was no longer an ordinary girl; I held one of the highest female positions in our werewolf community, and the weight of that responsibility felt both daunting and exhilarating.

Standing hand in hand with Noah, I took a moment to admire him.

In his royal suit, complete with a matching red tie, he looked utterly breath-taking.

My heart swelled with pride and love as we prepared to be announced.

When we finally heard our names echo through the grand hall, the heavy double doors swung open, revealing a sea of welcoming faces.

We stepped forward with a mixture of nerves and excitement, the atmosphere thick with anticipation.

After the necessary formalities were completed, Noah's father, Mr. Kingsley, turned to him with dignity and respect.

"Grayson Noah Kingsley, do you accept the title of Alpha King, vowing to serve the kingdom until death takes you?

Do you swear to treat everyone fairly, to honour your position passed down to you, and never misuse your power? "

Without hesitation, Noah replied, "I do."

Then Mr. Kingsley focused his attention on me. "Emily Faye Mickelson, do you accept the title of Luna Queen, pledging to serve the kingdom until death shall take you? Do you promise to treat everyone fairly, to honour your position passed onto you, and never misuse your power?"

"I do," I responded, my heart racing with conviction.

Taking a ceremonial knife in hand, Mr. Kingsley cut his palm and Noah's, binding them together in an ancient rite of passage that connected their destinies.

It was a tangible transfer of power and responsibility.

After they completed the ritual, it was my turn.

Mrs. Kingsley took the knife and sliced her hand, then touched it to mine.

A powerful surge coursed through me as soon as our hands connected, awakening the deep magic within our lineage.

With that, Mr. Kingsley declared, "Now, I present to you all: Alpha King Grayson Noah Kingsley and Luna Queen Emily Faye Kingsley.

" The moment was met with thunderous applause and cheers, and I learned that Noah's parents were named James and Lily, adding a sense of familiarity to this new chapter of my life.

As the room buzzed with excitement, Mr. Kingsley gestured for quiet.

Standing before the crowd, Noah and I stepped forward, flanked by his parents who held crowns in their hands.

In a synchronized motion, they raised the crowns and gently placed them upon our heads.

My crown was a shimmering silver adorned with diamonds and pearls, each facet catching the light and radiating a magical glow.

Noah's crown was strikingly beautiful in its own right, black with dark diamonds that sparkled ominously, representing both strength and depth.

The collective cheers and claps enveloped us in a wave of joy.

Once more, Mr. Kingsley sought the crowd's attention. "It gives me great pleasure to announce your King and Queen, but I also have another surprise to share! You will all be thrilled to know that this lovely couple, as they claim their thrones, also has an heir to the throne on the way!"

The hall erupted into ecstatic shouts and whistles, a symphony of joy and celebration that seemed to echo through the very walls.

Noah drew me closer, his hand possessively resting on my waist as he kissed my forehead.

In that moment, wrapped in the love and excitement of our community and family, I realized that together we could face anything the future might hold.

As laughter filled the hall, friends, family and people of the werewolf community came forward, offering warm hugs and heartfelt congratulations, their smiles reflecting the joy of the moment.

After some time, we all gathered around a beautifully laid tables, where the castle staff had outdone themselves with a feast that beckoned with delicious aromas and vibrant colours.

As I savoured each bite, I was struck by how far I had come, realizing that all the twists and turns of my life had led me to this place, where I was destined to be queen.

A sense of contentment washed over me, but it was tinged with bittersweet thoughts of Lucas and Ashley.

I couldn't help but feel a deep ache for them; they had so much potential yet seemed caught in a cycle of poor decisions that had led them down a difficult path.

I wished they could have experienced this joy, this sense of belonging, and found their own way to a brighter future instead of feeling lost and overshadowed by their choices.
