Bonus Chapter
Ashley's POV
For as long as I could remember, a soft flame of affection had flickered in my chest for Lucas, the embodiment of everything I admired.
I crafted my way into the circle of Emily, the Alpha's sister, all in the hopes of finding more opportunities to glimpse him, to be near him.
Over time, Emily and I transformed into genuine friends, bonding over our shared experiences and laughter, yet my heart continued to beat solely for Lucas.
Initially, he seemed unreachable, a star in a distant sky, indifferent to my presence.
But something changed as I blossomed into womanhood.
With relentless determination, I hit the gym and pack training, sculpting my body into a slender figure that sparked newfound attention.
The day he finally recognized me, really saw me, was like a sweet dream.
My heart soared when he asked me to be his girlfriend, and my nights were filled with whispered prayers to the Moon Goddess, yearning for a bond deeper than mere affection a mate bond.
Yet, I soon learned that fate had a cruel sense of humour.
Instead of having Lucas as my destined mate, it became painfully evident that he belonged to Emily, gifted as her other half by the Moon Goddess.
The signs had always been there, subtle but present.
I knew something was wrong when he returned late the night of her first shift, a faint trace of her irresistible scent lingering on him, a bitter reminder of what could have been.
When the idea of a night out at the club came to me, I proposed it .
My suspicions were only confirmed as I caught glimpse of them missing, igniting a fire of jealousy within me.
But I kept up the facade, pretending to revel in the music and dance while my heart raced in despair.
It was not too long before they appeared , and I could no longer contain the tempest inside me.
It was time to confront him. With grace and cunning, I approached Lucas, leading him deeper into the club, away from prying eyes.
My heart hammered in my chest, wild with adrenaline and desperation.
I leaned into my seduction, using every skill I had learned to draw him close.
The thrill of the moment shot through me as he succumbed to my advances, lost in the magnetic pull between us.
Caught in the heat of the moment, I took my chance to stake my claim.
I marked him an intimate connection that sent shivers down my spine, sealing our bond.
In the haze of passion, he reciprocated, marking me in return, and just like that, I felt an overwhelming sense of triumph.
No longer could anyone separate us; I had woven our fates together, bound by choice and desire.
In that ecstatic moment, I knew that I would embrace my new role as the Beta Female of the Silver Moon Pack. I would bear Lucas's pups. He was mine, and I was determined to ensure that no one would ever take him away from me.
But now, everything I had poured my heart and soul into was slipping away, like sand through my fingers.
The dreams I nurtured, the love I fought for, had vanished alongside Lucas's wolf.
Why, oh why, had the Moon Goddess denied my singular wish?
I had chosen to reject my true mate, believing I could build a life with him, and in the cruel twist of fate, all my sacrifices had only led to heartache.
Here I stood, pregnant with his pup, yet he looked at me with resentment etched across his face.
In just a matter of days, my entire world had crumbled.
The laughter and joy we had shared felt like a distant memory, and what remained was a heavy silence filled with unspoken pain.
I was expected to part with our pup once born, the sole reminder of our once-happy moments together, a bittersweet symbol of love that now felt tainted by his disdain.
Lucas had been my everything, my sun and moon, yet he could hardly stand to be in the same room with me now.
Each argument we had drove a deeper wedge between us, making a difficult situation unbearable.
Every harsh word exchanged only fuelled my sadness, intensifying the bitterness in his eyes, and I couldn't shake the feeling that I was the source of his anguish.
Each fight felt like a knife twisting in my heart, and I could sense the fragments of the person I once was, fading with every confrontation.
I had tried so hard to be everything Lucas needed, his partner, his confidante, the one who would support him, but in the process, I lost sight of myself.
What had once been a source of strength became a silent burden, and I felt myself unravelling beneath the weight of those expectations.
The vibrant woman who had fought for his love seemed like a ghost haunting my memories.
All I wanted was to return to the days before the mayhem, to be able to laugh together again, to feel cherished and understood.
But now, as I stared at my reflection, all I saw was a shadow of who I used to be, grappling with feelings of despair and hopelessness.
I clung to the tiny life growing inside me, my only connection to better days, yet every moment felt like I found myself on the edge of a cliff, peering into a future that held uncertainty.
Was I truly going to have to give up the only shred of happiness I had left, just when I needed it most?
This haunting question loomed over me like a storm cloud, and for the first time, I felt utterly adrift, completely lost.
I had transformed into a frantic mad woman, consumed by my obsession with Lucas Axel.
