40. Opaline

Opaline

Waiting for the next load of laundry to dry, I spend some time working on my skill in crafting various fancy animals and shapes made of towels. Lottie had shown me several, and for some reason, I thought I could master the swan fresh out of the gate.

I was sorely mistaken.

"You…are not a swan, are you, little squish?" I sigh, picking it up with both hands, watching my efforts collapse, lacking any magic.

"Might wanna stick with a snake, sweetheart. Maybe a chubby, cute little worm or caterpillar. Circle back to the swan later, ya know? Really beef up those folding skills first." Sage comes sauntering into the laundry room at the resort, grin white and wide as can be.

I yelp in surprise. Tossing the remains of my bird at his head, he catches it one-handed, laughing. "Hey! You shouldn't sneak up on people!"

"Hmm…" he hums, chuckling, stalking closer and tossing the towel to the table.

"Maybe I need to send a little extra…somethin' somethin' down the bond next time, huh?

Let you know I'm on my way. Get you nice and ready for me.

" Waggling his brows, he pulls me into his arms, lips landing on mine in a sweet claiming.

Pushing for more, I open for him, letting him take me. Our tongues meet in our own special, familiar brand of dance. It doesn't take long before I'm needy, ready to beg for more.

"Fuck, princess. I've missed you all day," he whispers in a gravelly voice, backing me up against the wall.

"I missed you, too," I whimper, hands reaching for his biceps and perfectly chiseled chest, exploring with each step back, my need more than evident.

"Mmm, yeah? Did I get you all hot and bothered, baby?" He teases. Without waiting for a response, he has me in his arms, legs wrapped around his waist and pressed between him and the wall.

"Sage! But…y—mmm," I start, trying to make him pause and failing. All it does is force his lips from mine, down to my neck, which certainly does not help me to get the words out. "The door…" I mutter weakly with a sigh, eyes fluttering shut.

"Better be quiet, then."

"No, Sage. You can't get in trouble."

Pulling back, he tosses his head back in a laugh. "By who? Calder?" he chuckles. "Trust me, he'd understand." His lips find my scent gland, tongue trailing and tracing my neck and ear, knocking out any further thought, rendering me brainless.

I'm nothing but sighs and nonsensical pleas as he grinds into me, pleasure heating my core. "Sage. God, baby…"

Suddenly, I remember being in this exact situation with him months ago, when I first arrived. I can feel his own pleasure at the memory he undoubtedly remembers, relayed back to me through our soul connection as he moans and hums happily against my skin.

His hard dick hits my clit through my thin, green pants, over and over, until I'm on the cusp and falling over into oblivion, feeding on his own rising lust. Just as I start to lose control and groan out loud, his lips land on mine, silencing my ecstasy as I continue to come, arms weak in their attempt to hold onto him.

"That's my good girl. Fuck, I love watching you blissed out." His low growl sends a shiver through my sensitive, shaking body.

"Wow… I either came at the right time or the wrong time, huh?" Everette's smile lights up behind Sage's big shoulder as he turns back to our other pack mate. I see the door's now closed behind him and offer my silent thanks before realizing…he can't feel it, yet.

"Hi, love," I say in greeting, legs jelly as Sage lowers me to my feet.

"Hey, sweet girl." He meets me halfway, in a bear hug. "Mmm. You smell extra delicious." He leans down, closer to my ear. "Were you being naughty with your alpha?"

Sage comes up to my back, crowding me between their strong chests, hands roaming everywhere. "Maybe." I lean in closer, getting a whiff of his scent directly from the source. Vanilla almonds mix with lust-coated whiskey and amber, nearly overpowering my own candied honey.

"I'd say she was being a very…very good girl. Weren't you?" Sage emphasizes each word with a kiss on the opposite side, lifting my hair. His heavy cock teases me from behind as they both growl softly in approval of my greedy, wandering hands.

"God damn it. I fucking knew it." I jump in surprise as Adrian swings open the door, slamming it shut behind him. His standing like an off-duty warrior, arms crossed, does nothing but flame my fire these two just threw gasoline onto.

Taking a minute to appreciate him, I hold out a hand in his direction. "You could always join us ya know," I tease, batting my eyelashes in what feels like a failed attempt at being seductive.

"Opaline, I hav— Oh…" I jump behind Everette just as he positions himself in front of me. "I hope I can assume I'm not interrupting anything romantic in the building I manage? Surely?"

Quickly straightening my shirt and tucking my hair behind my ears, I push my way out from between the two giants. Jewel's standing between the four of us, arms crossed, just the same as Adrian, brows raised.

"No!"

"We're, uh, just picking her up to head over to the fields," Ever adds, almost sounding like a teenager caught red-handed stealing beer.

"Yep. The fields. Festival stuff. Her help is crucial, unfortunately," Sage chimes in with an exaggerated nod and sigh.

"Jesus christ," Adrian mutters, running his hand down his face. "Yes, Jewel. We're going to steal our omega for a bit if that's okay. We're doing final prep for the fest this weekend. As long as laundry is all caught up, it takes priority and all hands on deck."

With a bit of a chuckle, she looks between us and steps to the side, clearing the way to the door. "By all means. We can chat later. Nothing urgent. Go…have fun. Be safe."

Making our way through the back employee entrance hallway, Sage mutters in confusion about being the owner and somehow feeling like he did, in fact, get in trouble.

The temperature has a bit of chill to it as we step outside, chatter and noise making their way to us from the distance as we make our way closer.

Summer's been amazing…the best season of my entire life.

But I am excited for Fall and Winter. I can't wait to see the Hot Springs in all their glory, covered in glistening white and snowy mountains framing every view.

"So, what kind of prep is left for the Mountain Glow Festival?" I ask, happily sandwiched between my three big, warm mates.
