27. Chapter 27
Mariana
I'm on the bottom again. My skin is sensitized, to the point where every touch feels a tad painful. Like electricity has lit up every nerve in my body, and now it sparks and flares up with every stroke.
My bedroom is full of sound. My moans and his. Groans and flesh against flesh. Little words that fall from our mouths.
"Dom. Dom," I pant.
I ran my hands down his back, forcing my fingers into his muscles.
My body is light and heavy at the same time, and my chest heaves with the need to breathe deeper, longer, faster.
I'm so wrapped up in sensation that I think…
this feels… like pleasure hides something inside. Like I could cry, if I'm not careful.
I think it's awe and… a sort of homesickness…
"Come on," he bites out. "Another one."
We've both come already, and I'm not sure if he means another one for him or me, but it doesn't matter. My body chooses for me and all thoughts disappear.
I drown in the swell of sensation Dom instills in me. Everything else fades in a decadent buzz.
"I'm coming." The words break on my lips.
I'm buckling under him. My nails leave half-moons on his skin, I'm clinging to him so hard. This is absolute bliss.
But I've missed this. I've missed… him.
"Mari. Fuck." He doesn't stop pounding into me, and I whine at the sensation. "You're going… it's… Fuuuuuck."
His cock twitches inside of me, and his release floods me again.
I'm still not in control of myself, but I manage a deep, hiccuped breath. I frown, lost in my release and the tender sentimentality that waits in its wake.
We both make small sounds when he pulls back and falls on the mattress next to me.
"Mari."
I'm not surprised when he leans next to me and puts a hand on my belly. A part of me knows exactly what he'll do. In my daze, I smile.
His hand slides down my body. "Look at me."
I open my eyes.
"Don't move." His fingers glide down swollen, sensitive flesh.
I let out a small whine. His fingers land right on my entrance, where he holds. He's stopping his cum from dripping out of my body yet.
"You're still trying to make a claim on my body like this?" I ask.
"Let me do this right." He presses his fingers against me, and casts his eyes my way. "For tonight."
I'm still catching my breath, and maybe that's why my heart skips a beat. My lips curl into a smile. Despite how heavy my limbs feel, I lift my legs and trap his hand between my thighs, happy to keep him there.
I've never met anyone else that complemented me like this. In sex and in everything else, I think. Of course I've noticed its absence in my mind. This feeling. Like I'm held by a cloud. Like the sun shines right through it, refracting off every little drop of water, painting rainbows on my skin.
It makes sense that I'm hyperaware of having it— him— again for some time.
The corner of his mouth curls up. I lift a hand to his face and he leans into it.
"Still so good between us." I sigh. "At least this way."
His smile turns into a smirk. He pulls his hand away from me and, giving me a playful look, he drags his wet fingers up my body, drawing mindless lines on my skin. His art ends with his fingers in his mouth, where he finishes the cleaning job with his tongue.
"Mmh," he utters, before putting his fingers in my mouth too.
It's both of us together, he used to say. Of course I think it's hot as hell.
He grins, and looks as smug as he used to back then. With a big sigh, he lets himself fall on the mattress. His far hand goes behind his head for support, while the one closest to me caresses my thigh.
"You think we're done for the night?" I ask.
He could be at the beach, relaxing on the sand, sunbathing while on a wonderful vacation, he looks so carefree.
"Maybe," he says. "Do you have plans for the next couple of hours?"
I laugh. "I don't even know what time it is."
"Can't check. I don't know where my phone is. Might still be in my car."
"You got out of it fast."
He raises an eyebrow at me, his eyes barely open. "You were hoping I would."
"I didn't think I was going to get what I wanted." I smile. "But I'm so glad I did."
His hand leaves my leg and comes to my face, where he runs his knuckles softly on my cheek. Lightness expands in my chest, until breathing is the easiest thing in the world. I'm happy. That was the whole point of everything, and maybe a good sign for this thing we're doing.
"This is our chance to end things well," he says. "Come out of it with a smile."
I nod, warmth and gratitude joining the mix in my torso.
"So when you make all my friends love you," he adds, "and this thing we're doing ends and you leave, no one has to feel like they need to choose between you and me. They're too loyal to choose you and I'd feel bad for you for a day or two. I'd rather not have to deal with that kind of vibe."
"Hey," I fake punch his arm. "I thought we wouldn't tell them about this."
His Adam's apple bobbles. It echoes my gulp. Lofty goals, for two people who share the kind of past we have, and seem comfortable to remain naked together in bed.
He shrugs. "We won't. It doesn't mean they'll never know. They're scarily perceptive sometimes. But with everyone getting hitched, they wouldn't understand where we're coming from anyway. You saw how they were during dinner. I had to get assertive. I'm crossing my fingers it lasts."
He's saying they're so in love, they wouldn't understand that our arrangement is a way to indulge in amazing sex, without hoping for that kind of happily ever after. Because for us, the problem was believing we could have forever in the first place.
I left. I'm leaving again. We should have never fallen in love, knowing things would end.
Wrapping up any tenderness and nostalgia in duct tape and chains is the way to go. Those beautiful, life-changing months in college will not come back. They're not meant to.
"Okay, Mister Wright." I offer him a hand. "We'll right our wrongs. And have a hell of a lot of fun doing it, too."
He smirks and takes my hand. "Sounds like a plan, Princesa."
We shake hands. He doesn't let go and pulls me to him.
"Come here," he says.
He guides me to rest my head on his shoulder. I settle against him, with one leg around him.
"You train tomorrow morning, right?" I ask. "I have a few meetings. Planning events. Preparing recipients for donations. The gala is fast approaching and things are going to get even more hectic for a while"
"What's this? You won't let me catch my breath before you kick me out?"
I gesture to our interlocked bodies. "What part of this makes you think I'm kicking you out?"
"Your words make me think you're ready for me to go."
"What I'm trying to do is come up with a plan." I drape an arm around him. "Don't you train on Wednesday mornings? And you need to go get your phone anyway."
He caresses my skin with lazy fingers. "Yeah. I need a change of clothes. And I'm pretty sure I shouldn't leave my car parked where it is."
"So this is it? We'll keep it casual, sleepovers if they're convenient, and generally fun? Low stakes? Just here to enjoy for a while."
He nods and sighs. "We're indulging. That's all."
His words echo my own thoughts, and I sigh. We're not falling in love this time. Not… again.
Later, at my condo's door, he smiles at me.
"Hey." He pulls me close with a hand on my waist. "We're going to the club on Monday to celebrate the start of our break.
The bye week is very late for us this year so we want to make it a party.
Why don't you come? We have to act like nothing's going on between us, but we can still have fun.
We can seem friendly in everyone's eyes. "
"Wow. An invitation from Dominic Wright himself? This is an upgrade."
"Mi reina, don't forget I can give and I can take away."
I laugh. "I'll be there."
"Then we can have a wonderful week, since I'll be on a break. You might get a little sleep deprived."
"It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make, if you make up for it with mindblowing sex." I shrug.
He grins. "That's a given."
"I'm counting on it then. I leave at the end of the bye week for a few days, but we'll make time before I go. Cora asked me to go with her to negotiate a few things with other teams."
"What I'm hearing is that you can give and take away, too."
"Yeah, we'll have to get used to it."
"You'll ruin me," he sighs.
But he kisses me goodbye, and it feels so natural, I smile as I fall asleep.
