Chapter 17
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
DAX
The moment to come clean to Mateo and explain their mate status was right there, but Dax held his tongue.
It still didn’t feel like the right time.
A nap didn’t mean Mateo was fully rested, and even then, Dax got the feeling there was more going on than just the man’s sleeping issues.
Now wasn’t the right time to pile on a mate bond.
He still wasn’t sure humans even had mates.
Being wrapped around his mate, feeling the warmth of his skin under thin pajamas, made his voice a little husky when he said, “Maybe I like the idea of smelling like you.”
It was too much, Dax felt himself cringe at the possessive comment, but Mateo didn’t seem to notice.
His face turned just enough to capture Dax’s lips in a heated kiss, and Dax felt his brain turn to mush under the assault.
He groaned when Mateo’s tongue slid between his lips, tightening his grip around his mate to eliminate any space between them.
He hadn’t come back into the room expecting anything.
He’d honestly thought they’d go on a few more dates before things progressed in that direction.
He wasn’t about to complain, though, especially when he felt his mate’s cock grow hard against his hip.
Maybe a little fooling around would be a good way to get Mateo to relax more.
The man was wound tight and even frowned in his sleep.
He needed to turn his brain off for a little while.
Dax could practically hear his brother’s voice in his head, telling him to slow down and take it easy. He ignored it. He was kissing his mate. There was nothing more important than that.
His hands delved under Mateo’s shirt, tracing over those tight muscles and up his chest. He’d wanted to touch since day one, seeing Mateo in the pool with all those gorgeous muscles on display.
He used a few tentacles to pull the material over Mateo’s head, glad his species gave him such excellent vision in the dark.
“Goddess, you’re sexy,” he breathed, bending to nip lightly on Mateo’s nipple.
His mate groaned, and his hips bucked, his fingers digging into the hoodie Dax was wearing.
He pulled back long enough to pull it and the t-shirt underneath off, tossing them over the side of the bed, then went straight back to what he was doing. He needed more of those noises.
“D-Dax…” Mateo panted, tugging helplessly on Dax’s hair. Not hard enough to make Dax think he wanted him to stop. More like he was overwhelmed and trying to let him know.
Lifting his head, he took in the lust fogged expression, Mateo’s lips parted as his chest rose and fell rapidly. He almost wished he could take a picture. His mate was so hot, he couldn’t stand it.
Mateo let out a muffled groan when Dax captured his lips again, but didn't let him linger. He ripped his mouth away, eyes squeezed shut as he croaked, “I feel really stupid asking, but how…”
The question honestly didn’t surprise him. Human education was notoriously lax when it came to anything about supes. Mateo looked embarrassed to ask, but Dax didn’t judge him. Not even all supes knew how krakens had sex.
“Do you want me to explain it, or do you want me to show you?” Dax purred, tugging on Mateo’s pajama pants until he lifted enough to allow Dax to slide them down his hips.
He took a second to admire his mate’s body, his hard cock standing up and leaking at the tip.
When he wrapped a hand around it, Mateo’s groan was pained, his hips thrusting into the circle of Dax’s hand like he couldn’t help himself.
“I… I don’t know…”
His poor mate was looking more embarrassed by the second, which was definitely not what Dax wanted.
He wanted the gorgeous man delirious with pleasure so he could turn his brain off.
This was too much thinking. Slowly, so Mateo could pull away if he wanted, Dax used his tentacles to pin his mate’s arms at his sides, another two wrapping around his legs.
Not every partner he’d been with liked being tied up like this, but if Mateo’s groan was anything to go by, he liked it almost a little too much.
“What– What are you doing?” Mateo panted.
“I don’t want you to have to think about what’s happening. Just feel, Mateo. I promise, I’ll make you feel good.”
Mateo’s head flopped back, his cock twitching at Dax’s words. Oh, he liked that. Dax was suddenly really glad humans couldn’t see in the dark so he wouldn’t see the huge grin spreading across his face. Having his mate at his mercy certainly wasn’t a hardship for him.
His mating tentacle slid free of the little pouch it was tucked in, trailing up Mateo’s thigh to wrap slowly around his cock.
“Oh shit! What–” His hips bucked, but with the way Dax held him, he couldn’t move that much. He writhed as much as he was able, a low whine escaping him as he tried desperately to thrust into the circle of Dax’s mating tentacle.
“No thinking,” Dax chided breathlessly. He hadn’t even done more than wrap himself around Mateo’s cock yet and he was already losing his mind. He was touching his mate. He was naked with him.
Maybe this was a bad idea.
The first stroke of Mateo’s cock confirmed it.
Mateo’s shout was like music to Dax’s ears, and he couldn’t stop himself from stroking again.
Any thoughts of taking it slow flew out the window, and he lost himself to the sensation of Mateo’s arousal thrusting against his, the hard length rubbing against the sensitive tentacle in just the right way.
If it felt this good just holding his cock, how would it feel to get inside him?
MATEO
He’d been internally chastising himself for not at least looking up the basics of sex with krakens, realizing too late that he looked like a clueless idiot, when something slick and hot wrapped around his cock, making Mateo’s neck arch in surprise.
It was so unexpected, he nearly came on the spot, grateful that whatever it was squeezed on the base of his cock to stop him from embarrassing himself.
The drag of the smaller suckers on his length made him writhe as much as he was able, but the more he moved, the tighter Dax’s other tentacles held him until he was literally trapped and at the kraken’s mercy.
Goddess, why did that turn him on so much? Did he have a thing for being tied up that he hadn’t realized before today?
He didn’t have time to think about it. The more wild he got in his attempts to thrust into the slick circle of Dax’s tentacle, the faster Dax touched him.
Like he was just as frantic as Mateo was.
Goddess, he hoped Dax was enjoying it as much as he was.
It was too dark to see his face, and he wasn’t being nearly as loud as Mateo was.
Biting his lip to muffle himself, he nearly sobbed when the tip of that slick tentacle started teasing at the head of his cock, swirling around it and prodding at the slit just enough to make Mateo lose his mind with pleasure.
He’d never wanted to come so fast in his life, but if Dax didn’t stop that, this would be over a lot sooner than either of them wanted it to be.
Gentle fingers tugged lightly on his lip, forcing him to release it.
Dax drew it into his mouth instead, soothing the mild sting with his tongue before pulling away to whisper, “One of the nice things about sound wards? They work both ways. You don’t have to muffle yourself. I love the sounds you make.”
He emphasized that by squeezing the head of Mateo’s cock gently with the tip of that slick tentacle, making Mateo’s head fly back on another shout. “Dax! I’m–Nngh!”
So close he couldn’t think straight. He felt the tingle at the base of his spine, warning him that he was close already.
He couldn’t help it. The hold Dax had on him, the slickness, the suckers, it was all so perfect.
He’d never been faced with that kind of pleasure before.
It was a wonder he’d lasted as long as he had.
The first stroke had nearly been his undoing.
“Yes, like that,” Dax groaned, tightening his mating tentacle and stroking a little faster. “You’re so hot. Soft and hard. Goddess, it feels good.”
Knowing Dax was enjoying it as well only made it better, letting his mind relax that final bit while his muscles began to coil tightly against his oncoming release.
He panted heavily, eyes blind to the world around him, his whole focus on how Dax was touching him, until his climax crested and barreled over him like a tidal wave.
“Dax!”
It went on and on, sticky heat spilling between them as he came so hard, he saw stars behind his eyes.
He barely had enough brain cells to question if Dax came too before Dax let out a hair raising moan, and his back arched sharply, cum splashing Mateo’s chest and belly in such large quantities, it felt like he was covered in it.
Mateo went limp, his breathing harsh despite having not been able to move for most of it.
He was still wrapped tightly in Dax’s tentacles, though it felt less like he was preventing him from moving and more like he was trying to eliminate space between them.
Dax’s face nuzzled against his neck, and his arms wrapped around Mateo’s shoulders, seeking comfort after such an explosive release.
Mateo wriggled a little until Dax released him enough to free his arms so Mateo could hug him back.
He made a happy sound when Mateo wrapped his arms around the kraken’s slender frame, holding him tightly.
He wasn’t thin; he had wide shoulders and a trim waist, like a swimmer’s build on a human.
Which made sense given his species. His skin was surprisingly soft, too.
Mateo trailed fingers up and down his back, just enjoying being wrapped around the sweet man for a little while.
It wasn’t long though before the sticky feeling started to get to him, though.
He loved sex, but he was always quick to clean up afterward.
Past boyfriends hated that about him, and he tried to stay where he was and just ignore it, but he couldn’t hide the shudder when Dax squeezed him a little tighter, squishing the mess between them.
“Mateo? Is something wrong?” Dax asked, leaning back enough to look at him. Mateo wasn’t sure how he could see, it was nearly pitch black aside from the light coming from under the door, but he could practically feel Dax’s gaze studying his expression.
He tried to mask it, shaking his head, but when he tugged Dax closer again, he grimaced and the kraken didn’t miss the expression.
“If you’re uncomfortable, you should tell me,” Dax insisted. “Good boyfriends listen when their partners are uncomfortable.”
That made Mateo’s eyes fly open, though he still couldn’t see more than Dax’s shadowy outline in the dark. “Boyfriend?”
Was it him, or did he sound stupidly hopeful when he asked that question? No amount of trying to talk himself out of a workplace relationship seemed to stop him from wanting to spend more time with Dax. Maybe sometimes things getting a little messy was worth the risk.
