Chapter 25
CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE
DAX
Knowing his mate wouldn’t get any rest if there was dirt trailing all through the condo, Dax was happy to help him clean up.
He wasn’t exactly looking forward to the conversation they had to have anyway.
A little part of him hoped Mateo would be too tired after all was said and done to remember just how insane Dax had acted when dropping him off before.
Mateo was more than prepared for cleaning up messes.
He produced a broom and dust pan, starting at Nylian’s door and sweeping up all the dirt he could find.
Dax found a mop and bucket in the same corner the broom had been in and set to filling it up with hot soapy water since he knew better than to think his mate would be satisfied with just sweeping up the mess.
Yes, a cleaning charm would get the job done, but there was no telling how long it would be until the fae got around to using one.
Fae were particular about their plants, they connected with them almost like they were friends, and his priority would be making sure the plants were comfortable before he did anything about the mess.
Once the mess was gone, Dax noticed Mateo’s attention wander to other potential problems in the house.
Some dishes in the sink, shoes scattered by the door, an empty cup of water on the coffee table.
All things that were making his mate a little twitchy.
It wasn’t Mateo’s job to clean up after his roommates though, so Dax sought to distract him instead of allowing the man to deep clean the entire condo.
He snagged Mateo’s wrist, pulling him toward his room and the decadent bath tub they’d been too distracted to use the jets in last time.
As the tub filled, they rinsed off in the shower and Dax felt his chest tighten the longer the silence went on. Any minute now, Mateo was going to ask him what had happened and Dax would have to explain himself. Was it even the right time to mention the mate thing? Would Mateo respond well?
What if he didn’t? What if humans really didn’t have mates and Mateo walked away, leaving Dax feeling like he was missing half his soul for the rest of his life?
The sheer terror made him bite his tongue and keep it to himself. Even if Mateo was ready, Dax didn’t feel like he was. He needed to figure out what to say first. And maybe get an idea of what Mateo thought of the whole mate idea in the first place.
“Tired?” Mateo asked as he turned off the shower and led Dax out and over to the tub.
Dax climbed in, snagging Mateo’s waist when he followed and pulling him into his lap.
He couldn’t help it. He needed to feel his mate close.
All the thoughts in his head were making him anxious and only Mateo made him feel better.
“A little,” he agreed, letting out a long sigh when Mateo pulled him closer and wrapped him up in a hug. He said that Dax gave better hugs, but Dax would beg to differ. Mateo’s hugs were great.
Lazily, he used a tentacle to press the button for the jets, sinking a little lower in the tub when the rush of water started pounding against his back. Ooh, that was nice.
Chuckling lightly, Mateo readjusted so he was laying on top of Dax like his own personal mattress. Dax was not complaining in the slightest. In fact, he used two tentacles to wrap around Mateo, keeping him exactly where he was. He let his eyes slip closed. This was exactly what he needed.
“You know, I was never a huge fan of baths when I was younger. I think I could learn to like them if they all turned out like this,” Mateo commented.
“I know a way to guarantee you’ll like them,” Dax offered. He couldn’t help it. His naked mate was lying on top of him, and Dax could feel his half hard cock against his hip. Who could resist that?
He might’ve also been looking for a distraction to ensure Mateo forgot completely about what happened earlier. Luckily, his mate didn’t seem to notice the tactic for what it was.
Mateo hummed, one hand sliding down Dax’s side like he was going to reach between them.
Dax caught the wandering hand in one tentacle, doing the same with the other and holding them behind Mateo’s back.
If his mate’s magic hands tried to repeat what he’d done last time, Dax would be too delirious to make Mateo feel good.
He wanted whatever they did right now to be a shared experience.
He needed it. With all the swirling questions in his head and the insane way he’d acted earlier, he needed to feel that connection.
Wrapping a tentacle around each of Mateo’s legs to spread them, he grinned when Mateo gasped and squirmed in his grip. His mate wasn’t going anywhere with the way Dax held him, and if the moan was anything to go by, Mateo was fine with that.
His mating tentacle pushed out of the pouch it was kept in, trailing up Mateo’s thigh and along his balls.
Mateo went still, holding his breath, but the way his cock throbbed where it was pinned between them told Dax he wanted what was coming.
Still, he trailed the tip of his mating tentacle over Mateo’s hole, asking, “Yes?”
“Gods, yes,” Mateo breathed, moaning when Dax pressed a little more firmly against the tight muscle just to test the waters.
Knowing his mate was fully on board made Dax want to shove inside him and thrust until they both came.
He didn’t want to hurt Mateo, though, and he knew he had to take things slow.
He painted the tip of his mating tentacle over Mateo’s hole, making his mate squirm and moan, the muscles of his legs tensing as he fought Dax’s hold.
Dax’s other tentacles tightened, keeping Mateo fully immobile.
“Shh… You don’t have to do anything right now. Just relax and feel. Let me take care of you,” Dax coached. Because more than anything, right now he needed to take care of his mate.
MATEO
Dax had teased him with the possibility of tentacles in new places when they’d been in the alley before.
Mateo had been too distracted by how public they were at the time to really consider it.
The slick appendage dragged over his hole almost like a tongue, opening him up in the most pleasurable way possible.
And with the way Dax held him, Mateo could only lie there and take it.
Gods, that shouldn’t have been as hot as it was.
He expected the burn of the stretch when Dax finally pushed inside, but his mating tentacle was thinner at the tip and there was no burn at all until he got deep enough that the larger suckers came into play. Dax paused there, not going any deeper, giving Mateo a moment to catch his breath.
The tentacle wasn’t hard and stiff like a cock.
It moved inside him, wriggling and writhing in ways Mateo wouldn’t have thought would be pleasurable, but somehow it was.
Especially when the tentacle found his prostate and started moving against it with just enough pressure to make him crave more.
He tried to push his hips back in a silent plea, but Dax only tightened his grip until Mateo couldn’t move even an inch without his permission.
His mind went blank, all the stress and tension from the day disappearing as he focused only on the way Dax touched him.
Only when Dax was sure Mateo was ready did he delve farther. The suckers slid inside him, stretching him in waves and making him cry out as he clamped down on Dax’s tentacle.
“Nngh, Mateo…” Dax panted. “Goddess, you feel so good…”
Mateo couldn’t answer. He could barely breathe. Dax was almost deep enough inside him to reach his limit, moving in a way that hit nerves he didn’t know existed, sending shockwaves of pleasure through him.
Dax had been moving slowly, easing him into the new experience, but once he was sure Mateo was ready, his tentacle retreated until it was almost fully out before shoving back in. Mateo’s eyes flew wide, a shocked cry catching in his throat as the suckers started vibrating his rim.
“Oh, gods, oh gods, oh, gods!” Mateo wailed, fighting Dax’s hold on him not because he wanted to escape but because it felt so good, he couldn’t sit still for the life of him.
He writhed and moaned, babbling nonsensically as Dax picked up the pace and moved in and out of him with increasing speed and strength.
“More… More, Dax!” Mateo begged. He wasn’t even sure what he wanted more of. More of Dax’s tentacle, more of their bodies pressed together, more everything. He couldn’t get enough.
Dax wasn’t much better. He didn’t need to thrust his hips like most men, his tentacle did all the work, but that didn’t stop the kraken from squeezing the globes of Mateo’s behind, yanking him closer and grinding Mateo’s cock against his stomach while moaning almost constantly.
He wasn’t sure who came first. One of the suckers seemed to latch onto Mateo’s prostate right as Dax came with a shout. Mateo’s vision went white, and he bucked and writhed in Dax’s hold, riding out the waves of pleasure until he was so exhausted he went limp.
As tentacles rearranged themselves to hold Mateo instead of pin him, one slid under his chest to rest under his face like a pillow, keeping him above the water and comfortable.
That tingle he felt the last time they were in the bath together swept along his skin, and Mateo let out a happy sigh knowing the water was clean again and he didn't need to worry about separating quickly so he could clean up.
There were a lot of perks to having sex in the bath.
The water was still warm, and the rumble of the jets was like a white noise machine, making Mateo’s eyes heavy-lidded as he fully relaxed.
He let out a little moan when Dax pulled his mating tentacle free but didn’t have the strength to get up just yet.
Closing his eyes for a minute wouldn’t hurt, right?
When he jolted awake, it was because a cold droplet of water from the faucet splashed on the back of his leg, startling him.
He wasn’t sure how long they’d been in there.
Long enough for the water to go cold and the jets turned off on their own.
A shiver ran up his spine, and he pushed himself upright, stunned that he hadn’t woken up sooner when the cool water touched the parts of him that had dried where he’d been held out of the water.
“Dax?”
“Hmm?”
Dax didn’t even open his eyes, and he looked content to stay in the water. Mateo couldn’t, though. Now that he was awake, there was no way he’d be able to go back to sleep when the water was cold like this.
“Dax, we should go to bed,” he urged.
He saw Dax’s bottom lip come out in a pout, his tentacles tightening around Mateo in a way that said he didn’t want to let go.
But he found it really unlikely that he could pick the kraken up.
Despite being nearly the same height when Dax was walking around, his tentacles were pure muscle, making him a lot heavier than Mateo was.
“Dax, I’m cold,” he said around a laugh.
That seemed to wake Dax up enough to at least open his eyes.
He looked around, confused, and made a face as he forced himself to sit up.
“I take it back. My tub is better. The jets are nice, but my tub is spelled to keep the same temperature. We could’ve slept there all night and stayed comfortable. ”
And Mateo would have woken up a prune. He kept that fact to himself, though.
He got the feeling Dax wasn’t awake enough to fully comprehend what he was saying.
He pulled the kraken out of the tub with him and took a second to dry himself off before Dax was snatching him up and hauling them into bed, repositioning them so that Mateo was lying on his chest again like he had been in the tub.
Mateo wasn’t complaining. There were worse ways to sleep than wrapped up in tentacles and in his boyfriend’s arms.
