Chapter 33 #2
“We’re in your tour bus,” she states.
“Yes, how did you know?” I ask.
“Your scents,” she answers, a little breathless. “They’re stronger in here than any other room you’ve been in.”
“Do you like our scents when they’re all together?” Malaki whispers, earning a soft sound from her lips.
She grins. “That’s a rhetorical question.”
“Yes, of course. It’s like if you were to ask us if we liked your scent. You definitely already know the answer to that. But you like to be reminded, don’t you?”
Her mouth closes and a tiny flash of red appears beneath the blindfold on her pale skin. “Point taken.”
Jamie takes her hand and leads her to the back of the bus.
I work on pinning up the new curtain that we’ve installed in the tiny doorway to the back resting space where our surprise lies.
When I see the finished product, my chest swells with pride for all the hard work my pack mates did while Lennon, Jamie, and I distracted Josie.
And by distract, I mean gave her lots of incentive to stay in bed with us. I can still smell us on her skin, the heady aroma strong enough for me to bite my lip in temptation.
I can’t wait for her scent to fill this bus to the brim, embed itself into all of our stuff so we can carry a piece of her with us forever.
We pause in the small space, all of us silently fighting for a spot so we can see her reaction. She must hear us fussing about, because she huffs with frustration.
“Can you please take this off me now?”
Jamie looks over at me, his eyes lit with excitement as he asks for permission. He makes my alpha preen as I nod a confirmation and watch as he unties the blindfold, letting it fall without another second of hesitation.
At first, Josie blinks to adjust her eyesight, but then she gasps when she sees what we’ve done with the space.
The bed is covered in new sheets and blankets, all different shades of purple.
The pillows are scattered, creating a border around the bed, all deep plums with different levels of softness.
In the center are our clothes that we’ve been saving for her, making sure her nest is full of all her favorite scents.
I even slipped in a few of the clothes that I stole from her to throw her own scent into the mix.
“Holy moly,” she says. Lennon snorts behind us at her choice of words.
“We thought, since you’re coming to stay with us, you deserved a nest,” I tell her, my eyes trailing over her face to memorize every moment of this reaction.
“Are these all… different materials?” she asks, her hands folding over the blankets.
“I remembered what you said. Now you have choices. Fleece, wool, cotton, linen. If one of them doesn’t feel right one day, or you get overstimulated by them, we can put it somewhere else for safekeeping and use something else.
” I look over at Remi, who gives me the tiny remote without a second thought.
“We had lights installed, too. You can dim them and change the color to your preference depending on how you feel.”
I press a button and the room is submerged in a beautiful blue, then it turns purple when I click again. Josie eyes it in awe, her pupils dilated from the purple shimmer.
“And music!” Malaki blurts.
“Oh, yeah, this is my favorite feature,” Jamie says, taking the remote from me. When he clicks a button, the tiny speakers in the corners start with a calming melody, some indie band that I remember Josie mentioning. “It can sync up to your phone so we can play whatever you want.”
“This is so much.” She swallows. “It’s so beautiful. This… This is really mine?”
“All yours, baby,” Remi confirms.
She gives us a shining smile, her eyes wet as she jumps up and down, her excitement palpable.
“A tour bus nest!” she exclaims as she admires it. “You know, when I designated, this became one of my dreams. I always wanted my own nest while on tour.”
Something prickles in my eye. “I’m glad we could make that dream come true.”
She looks over at me, her eyes shining with an emotion that stops me in my tracks.
It’s the look Jamie gives me whenever I hush pretty words at him, or the look Malaki gives him whenever Jamie is being a brat just the way the alpha likes.
The longer I look at her, the more I can see it, and it makes every molecule in my body stand on attention, warmth and electricity zipping all the way to my toes.
“We’re so glad you like it, little vicious,” Lennon says, coming behind her to kiss her head.
“But… how did you know exactly what colors I would like?” she asks us, and Malaki steps forward with a proud smile.
“I stole your phone and went through your nest board on Pinterest,” he tells her.
“On Cyrus’s order,” Remi adds, his smirk full of amusement. “He made us do the dirty work, but this was all his idea.”
Lennon chuckles. “Yeah, he had a whole vision board.”
My cheeks flush as they call me out. “Shut up—”
Josie barrels into my body, her arms wrapping around me tightly. “I love it so much,” she says into my shirt, her words muffled. “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
I wrap my arms around her, pulling her closer. “You deserve everything, Omega.”
She looks up at me, her chin resting on my chest. She’s the most perfect, most beautiful thing I’ve ever laid my eyes on, and I can’t believe she’s in my arms.
“We should christen it,” she whispers with a conspiratorial wink. We all laugh and I bring her lips to mine, cutting off her laughter with a groan.
We will, I think. Now we have all the time in the world.
