Chapter 50 Sarah

SARAH

‘See you later.’ I kissed Ben passionately as I stood at his flat door. He was topless and I wanted to cry at how amazing he looked in just his boxers.

And about the fact that this would be the last time I’d ever get to see him half-naked. ‘Thanks again for dinner. And dessert.’ I grinned.

As promised, Ben whipped up an amazing pasta dish.

I thought he was going to use sauce from a jar, but he made it from scratch using the drawer full of tomatoes and veg in his fridge.

There wasn’t a scrap of junk food in his kitchen. Once again, I’d got him all wrong.

When I first met Ben, I’d assumed he existed on convenience food and takeaways because he was too busy partying or screwing different women to cook. But that couldn’t have been further from the truth.

Now that I knew him better and thought about it logically, of course he cooked and ate healthily. You didn’t get a body like that by eating crap every day.

After he’d made the most delicious pasta I’d ever tasted, we’d chilled on the sofa, chatting easily about I can’t even remember what. Then I don’t even know how it happened or who initiated it, but the next minute we were kissing and going down on each other for dessert.

I didn’t think I’d ever enjoyed sucking a guy’s cock as much as I’d enjoyed blowing Ben. Seeing the way his eyes rolled to the back of his head and how much pleasure I gave him was the biggest turn-on.

Oral sex quickly evolved into full-blown sofa sex, then bed sex before we fell asleep in each other’s arms.

If my alarm hadn’t woken us up, we’d probably have slept until noon. Trouble was, my alarm was set based on me being at home at the B&B. Now I had less than twenty-five minutes to get home, shower, find clean clothes and hot-foot it back to start work on time.

I knew I was cutting it way too fine, but I had no regrets. Spending last night with Ben was the best way to round off the weekend.

‘Actually, let me carry your case downstairs,’ Ben offered.

‘You don’t have to,’ I said. ‘I’ll manage.’

‘I think you’ve had a memory lapse and forgotten how much stuff you packed for a three-day trip and how heavy your case is.’

‘Okay, guilty. But I needed options! Sometimes you have to pack double the amount of clothes and shoes you’ll actually need, just in case.’

‘Right,’ he said. ‘You sure you don’t want to change here instead of going back to the B&B?’

‘I thought about that, but the clean clothes in my case are more beach, wedding options that aren’t really right for work.’

‘Got it.’ He nodded before sliding on his slippers, lifting up my case, then carrying it down the stairs like it was lighter than a feather.

‘Thank you,’ I said as he opened the main entrance door.

‘You’re welcome.’

We stared at each other.

I wanted to kiss him.

One last time.

His eyes darkened and I wondered if he felt the same.

Our faces inched forward and our lips were just millimetres from touching when a familiar voice sounded that made me jump out of my skin.

‘Well, well, well. What do we have here?’

I turned around and saw Jess and Theo standing behind us with giant grins on their faces.

Busted.
