Prologue

There is something you must know about men.

It does not matter what history has told them, it does not matter if they are given the answer, it does not matter how much truth they are shown—they will always do what is in their best interest, what they think will help them rise in power.

There is much that is unknown about all worlds, but this one fact reigns true in all of them:

Men will witness firsthand the truth of events, yet tell another version of the story. One that benefits them most of all.

This is where fables are born, myths are forged and lies are spun, until no one knows what is fact and what is not.

And as time continues on, we are all told different versions of the same story—some in history books, others in confidence. We’re told to believe it for what it is, to blindly follow and not question.

Which version is true, however, is the real question.
