epilogue #4

But eyes moved between her and Samarth Rathore. An evil idea entered my mind. A smile spread across my face.

My turn.

I stepped around Samarth.

"Didi," I whispered conspiratorially, "I'm already booked for life." I pointed my thumb at Samarth. "But this one?" I patted his shoulder proudly. "Factory fresh."

Samarth's eyes widened.

"Yugant..."

"No girlfriend. No emotional baggage."

"YUGANT."

"Excellent build quality."

She looked at him with renewed interest. "How much?"

I pretended to think. "Hmmm...Ten lakh for one night."

"YUGAAAANT!" Samarth almost strangled me from behind. "Have you completely lost your mind?"

I shrugged.

"Just recovering the business deal you ruined last time. No losses in business."

"You son of-" He lunged at me.

I sidestepped. "Ishaan." I suddenly remembered he was still standing there with a straight face.

"Yes, sir?"

"Hold him."

Without asking a single question... Ishaan grabbed Samarth from behind in one smooth motion.

Samarth struggled like a man being arrested.

"Awasthi! Leave me! You asshole. If she actually buys me tonight, your next seven generations will be born with permanent bad luck!"

Ishaan remained expressionless and said, "Statistically impossible."

"You shut up! You emotionless Excel sheet! You human CAPTCHA! You office printer! You walking audit report! You tax-saving machine! You'll die calculating GST!"

Avoiding them, I focus on the woman in front of me. She waved her phone."Done."

I felt my mobile vibrate.

?10,00,000 credited.

I looked at the message then at Samarth and smiled like a businessman closing the deal of the year.

"Well..." I pocketed my phone. "Payment received." I looked at the woman. "Congratulations. He's yours for tonight."

Samarth looked like he was about to faint.

The woman walked toward him with the most victorious smile I'd ever seen.

"No..." Samarth whispered, backing away. "Please. I'm not that kind of guy."

She chuckled softly. "I know." She gently tapped his cheek. "And I'm not that kind of woman either." Her smile widened. "That's exactly why I chose you."

She traced a finger lightly along his jaw before gesturing toward the private lounge upstairs.

"Come on, handsome. Let's go talk somewhere quieter."

Samarth slowly turned his head toward me. The look in his eyes said only one thing. I'm going to kill you.

Just as she grabbed Samarth's T-shirt and started pulling him away-"Wait... where are you taking my brother?" Dhwani's voice echoed through the club.

Every single one of us turned toward the entrance she was walking in.

God...How did she get here? If she found out what I had just done, my funeral would be held tomorrow morning.

Then my eyes actually landed on her, every sensible thought vanished. She looked breathtaking.

The dress suited her so perfectly that, for a moment, the noisy club, the music, Samarth's desperate struggle,... everything faded into the background.

My entire focus settled on my wife.

Yeah... I was definitely in trouble now because she was looking so sexy in that skirt black skirt and silver crop top.

"Why are you holding my brother like that?" Dhwani frowned, pulling Samarth behind her protectively.

The woman beside him looked at me before mouthing silently, "Your wife?"

I nodded once. A huge smile spread across her face.

"Ohhh! So you're his wife!" she exclaimed, pointing at me. "He's been talking about you the whole time."

Dhwani's eyes immediately sparkled.

"Really?"

"Oh yes," the woman nodded enthusiastically. "Trust me, you've won the lottery. He's completely gone because of you."

Dhwani looked at me like she'd already forgiven every crime I'd committed. Then she simply walked over and hugged me.

See? Marriage is beautiful.

"DHWANI!" Samarth yelled from behind her.

"Please save me! Your husband just sold me for ten lakhs!"

Dhwani slowly pulled away from me. "...Yugant?"

I swallowed. "There is a perfectly reasonable explanation."

"There isn't," Samarth snapped. "He literally accepted the payment!"

The woman immediately defended me. "No, no! Don't misunderstand him." She smiled sweetly. "He wasn't forcing anyone. I simply wanted to spend some time with your brother."

Dhwani looked between them but to everyone's surprise she nodded.

"Well... Bhai." Samarth blinked. "She seems sweet. Maybe you should actually spend some time with her. You never know... you two might end up dating."

"For the love of God..." Samarth dragged a hand down his face. "Stop matchmaking me! I don't want to go with her!"

" Why?"

"because I already have someone in my life!"

"WHO?" me Dhwani and that woman asked in union.

Samarth realized what he'd just admitted. His confidence vanished. "She... uh..." He scratched his neck. "She exists."

I folded my arms. "He's lying."

Everyone looked at me. This man has had exactly one woman in his life. And she's been gone for years.

His jaw tightened. "I have someone."

"Then tell us her name," Dhwani demanded.

"Hey!" Dhrithika suddenly appeared beside us. "What exactly is happening here?"

I immediately grabbed her arm. "Shh. Don't distract

This is a very sensitive investigation." She looked completely confused but nodded anyway. I turned back toward Samarth.

"Well? Who is she?"

Samarth looked around desperately before pointing toward the entrance.

"Fine. The first woman who walks through that door....is my woman."

I snorted. "Seriously?"

"Then prove it."

All of us turned our heads because the voice really shook us to the core. Ishaan stood there with his arms folded. His expression hadn't changed even a little. "If you're telling the truth... prove it."

Since when does he get so interested in this?

Samarth stared."You're challenging me?"

"Yes."

The woman crossed her arms. Ofcourse! If you actually prove it...I'll quietly leave."

Samarth inhaled deeply. "Done."

He marched toward the entrance like a man going to war. The rest of us just looked.

The club doors slowly opened. A pair of heels appeared first then a familiar figure stepped inside.

Before any of us could even process who it was...Samarth strode forward, grabbed her wrist, turned her around-and slammed his mouth against hers.

"WHAT THE HELL?" Dhwani yelped, instantly covering her eyes with both hands.

"OH.. MY... GOD..." Dhritika screamed. "IT'S VEDIKA BHABHI!"

Every single person in the club turned to look at us.
