Duskwane—Days 256-287
Hallowsin
Constellation: The Lantern
Attributes: Illumination, Giftedness
Zodiac Flower: Ashfeather Bloom
Tradition: During the month, shrine maidens offer fortunes for alms.
Character: Elias Blackwood's birthday.
Description of The Lantern
During the first month of Hallowsin, the days grow shorter and colder, and summer activities are set aside for quieter pursuits.
Duskwane is the month that harvest begins.
Children born under the constellation of The Lantern are thought to carry special spiritual illumination and giftedness.
This zodiac sign is associated with strong mana channelers.
Thoughtful and introspective by nature, people of The Lantern tend to be night owls, artists, dreamers and philosophers.
Description of Ashfeather Bloom
Commonly seen at funerals, Ashfeather Bloom symbolizes grief and spirituality.
A tall flower with lacy, floating plumes at the end of each stalk, it's found in swamps and marshes around Gravenmere province.
Despite its delicate appearance, this birthflower has a morbid reputation.
For reasons unknown, Ashfeathers tends to grow in clusters over graves.
Finding a large mound in the middle of the woods indicates a corpse might be buried nearby.
Fallowmere—Days 228-319
Constellation: The Veil
Attributes: Madness, Funerals
Zodiac Flower: Lumenbloom
Tradition: Daemon Night—a night of chaotic revelry against the Daemon King. Meant to honor the dead.
Description of The Veil
Mist rolls in from the ocean to shroud the royal city of Astravelle during Fallowmere.
This month is considered more ominous and sinister than Duskwane.
Dedicated to the Daemonguard, the Abyss, and the ongoing battle against the Daemon King, Fallowmere is a time of madness, funerals, midnight vigils and chaotic revelry.
Children of The Veil are thought to be "a little strange.
" Secretive about their inner worlds, they are slow to make friends and prefer to spend time in libraries or solo walks through the woods.
Description of Lumenbloom
Pale blue with a faint inner glow, this trumpet-shaped, vining flower glows when mana channelers are near, responding to the mana in their Luminous bodies.
Thought to be "the flower of the Skytouched," it's commonly seen growing on trellises near a noble manorhouse.
Considered a medicinal plant, a tincture distilled from its petals stimulates the mana body and helps it heal.
It's also used to identify Luminous newborns. The flowers glow when placed on a baby’s forehead above their Sky terminal.
