"Monsieur, votre femme est stable maintenant. Le médecin aimerait vous parler." The nurse stood in front of Rehaan was pacing back and forth outside the room where Dur e Shahwar was admitted in the hospital.

(Sir, your wife is stable now. The doctor would like to speak to you.)

"Bien." He felt like his head was a little less heavy though his whole body ached. It had been twelve hours since he'd been in the hospital. His wife had a nervous breakdown. She was completely unstable when they'd brought her there last night.

(Alright.)

He went to see the doctor who told him that he wanted Shahwar's previous medical history to check if this wasn't a repetition of a previous issue.

They wanted to use medication accordingly.

Then he told him that she had been in an extremely painful mental state which had led this to happen.

He had advised Rehaan to be much more cautious about her when Rehaan had admitted that they had an argument before it all happened.

He didn't know what to respond to when the doctor had asked him to love his wife with proper care.

Rehaan walked back to the room where his wife was lying unconscious.

He was genuinely close to cutting off ties with his friends for their careless actions but they had been messaging him constantly since the previous night apologizing for everything.

He didn't know what he was supposed to do with Shahwar.

He stood against the wall looking at her, then not knowing how much later her eyes opened and she looked at him.

She was quiet. And he stood in the same spot.

Both of them were silent for a long time until Shahwar tried to move her hand to grab the glass of water next to her hospital bed and Rehaan beat her to it.

He moved the glass to her lips and she sipped the water slowly to ease the burning of her throat. He was still quiet. He was feeling upset more and more as he looked at her. What if something had happened to her? What would that say about him as man?

"Thank you." She said passing a small smile.

Rehaan was now furious at her effort to force a smile at him in this state.

Though what he didn't know was that Shahwar was always like that.

She could never be upset with a person for long.

No matter what. If the period was truly longer than necessary then it meant the person had done irreparable damage.

"When it doesn't matter to anyone whether you're alive or not, why are you trying to get sympathy by pulling this nonsense." It wasn't him, it was his own anger at himself. He didn't know what to do with his disgusting behavior from last night.

"You're right. I was being too impetuous." She breathed in to pause, "I troubled you a lot, didn't I?" Too soft, too unbearable for Rehaan. Shahwar was an extremely gentle person she didn't ever really raise her voice much most of her life.

"Be quiet, will you?" He lowered his head over her chest, "I'm sorry." He rested his face on her with least force weighing over it. "I'm so sorry Shahwar."

She had already cried a lot for her share of tears the previous night and now she didn't want to anymore. "It's not your fault. I left without telling you."

Rehaan lifted his head up and stared at her in astonishment, she really thought it was all because she'd left without telling him? What was this girl? "We'll talk later." He sat back on the chair beside her bed.

"Do you want anything specific to eat? Or anything else? I'll ask Ibaad to get it." She shook her head and then realized that he mentioned his secretary. It meant they were in the city again.

"Can I call your father for history of your medical documents?" He didn't want to impose himself on her but it was what he wanted her consent for.

"Okay." Shahwar didn't know what else to say. She'd cut off her relationship with her father but she couldn't say it to him. And she wouldn't have to speak to him so it was okay anyway.

"Right." He stood up to leave reaching the door.

"Aap kahan ja rahay hain Rehaan?" She didn't want to be alone in the hospital room. Even if he hated her, she didn't want to be on her own.

(Where are you going Rehaan?)

"Kahin nahi ja raha. I'll be back in a minute." He opened the door and a young man in a suit entered inside the moment he was out.

(I'm not going anywhere.)

"Hello ma'am. I'm Ibaad." He had a glass bottle and a paper bag in his hands. "You should drink this, it's fresh." He poured orange juice from the bottle to the glass and passed it to her.

She tried to sit up but he raised the head side of the bed with the buttons on the corner of the bed.

He started taking out fruits from the bag and placed them on a plate which was also taken out from the same thing.

Then he took out a knife and started cutting them into small pieces.

Shahwar just looked at him as he did the task with so much contentment on his face like this was some salad competition.

She sipped the juice slowly again giving her throat the time to adjust. And when she was done he passed her the plate of fruits that seemed very appealing to her but she wanted to wash her hands first and brush her teeth too. "I need help to go to the toilet."

"Shall I help you ma'am?" Ibaad stood up.

"Leave. I'll take care of it." Rehaan's voice turned their heads towards the door where he stood.

"Yes, sir." Ibaad nodded at Rehaan and left the room.

"I said I'll be back in a minute didn't I?" He went towards the bed.

"But it wasn't a minute. It was more." She explained.

"I guess I need to get rid of all the males working for me." He placed his hands behind her back and beneath her thighs after detaching the drip.

"Why?" She frowned.

"So that no man gets the chance to touch my wife." He lifted her up so easily she didn't even feel her own weight.

"Is your wife a scandalous woman, Mr Kazmi?" She smiled at him as he walked towards the washroom.

"My wife is foolish. I thanked God many times the other day for even giving an off to the male house workers myself when she needed help with unbuttoning her dress, who knows if I hadn't done that she would have asked someone from them to help her because of how much she dislikes me.

" He shook his head as he stopped in front of the wash basin.

"I am not that foolish." Rehaan let her legs down slowly and held her as she stood to wash her face.

"You didn't correct the part where I mentioned you disliked me." He raised his brow at her.

A smile played at Shahwar's lips, "Are you going to watch me brush my teeth too?" She said taking the brand new packaged tooth brush in her hand.

"Yes." He stood holding her firmly from the back.

"Okay." She pouted with a small nod and started pushing toothpaste out on the brush and went on shoving it against her teeth in all motions which continued for a few minutes. Her head was still slightly aching and her body was weak to stand on its own for now.

After finishing the task she washed her face with just water as she didn't want to use the hospital soap on her skin. "Done."

"Let's get you back then." He lifted her back in his arms again, and this time she realized how petite and tiny she was compared to him. She basically didn't even exist.

"When do I get to leave?" Rehaan placed her back on the bed and passed her the fruits plate.

"Two hours." He started patting her wet face with napkins to dry it off and then attached the drip back into the cannula.

"Good." She smiled and started eating the fruits happily.

Shahwar is so precious, my baby.????
