"So have you decided?" Shahwar looked up at her husband who was standing in front of the couch she was sitting on in his suit ready to go to work.

"Decide?" She moved her tea cup to her knees which were touching her chest.

"Your friends, Shahwar. We talked about it just last night." He reminded her of the four big pages of words he had said to her most of which had already left her brain.

She started nodding her head, "Yes, yes."

"So you've invited them?"

"No, no." She shook her head now.

"What do you mean?" He was becoming impatient now.

"I mean I don't want to call them. They're all busy." She didn't want him to know that they were busy celebrating their lives and she didn't want them to make fun of hers by calling them here.

"Oh, alright." He turned to leave.

"Have a good day." She gave him a bright smile that made him stop just for fraction of a second and then he walked away from the lounge.

Shahwar saw the newspaper lying on the table which was in French and she felt annoyed just looking at it.

Even if she knew how to speak it, she'd hated reading and writing it.

Salman Nawaz had to himself make her attend the lessons daily when she was a kid by taking her down to the tutor holding her hand in his and sit with her throughout the lessons for an entire year.

Her father had never ever been an inattentive parent.

Whatever Dur e Shahwar had ever asked for was given to her, provided that it wasn't something that was against morals.

She thought for a while and then she decided to finally utilize the darn thing for something relevant. She opened the job opening page and started looking at the categories with complete concentration and then she stood up folding it nicely going to her bedroom.

She changed her clothes and took her shoulder bag placing the newspaper inside it.

Fixing the straps of her blocked sandals she walked down the stairs and then out of the house.

She went till the gate of her house and then realized she didn't have any cash to take a cab.

The guards at the gate kept on looking at her after greeting her and then one of them asked her if she was waiting for the driver.

She then remembered that there were tons of cars and many drivers here to take her and she wouldn't have to worry about money.

She asked the guard to call one of the cars to the gate through intercom.

Soon a car was in front of her out of the basement.

She got in and guided the driver to the destination.

There'd been an opening for a sous chef at a restaurant and Shahwar wanted to try her luck, desperately. Though she knew it was barely possible if the applicant was a person without a degree for qualification.

The car stopped in front of a small restaurant that looked more like a cafe to her. It had the same name as the newspaper showed and she went inside. She asked the manager about the job vacancy and he asked for her credentials as she had feared.

Shahwar felt like it was definitely useless to continue the conversation but just to be polite she didn't walk away that very moment and told him she wasn't a graduate but could cook whatever they'd ask her to.

The man gave her a skeptical look but then asked her to follow him to the kitchen.

She did so, nervously and then the chef was talking to the manager in whispers which Shahwar couldn't hear.

Then the chef sighed out loud suddenly and called Shahwar.

She stepped towards him and he asked her to prepare two French desserts and two French savories of her choice within an hour.

Shahwar didn't waste time, threw an apron over her and started with the task before she could lose the chance to even prove herself.

She was already done ahead of the time and presented the food in single servings to the chef and the manager.

The moment they tasted the food Shahwar's foot that had been tapping on and on due to anxiety, stilled.

She didn't know if she should've added more dressing to the food or should she have waited for the whole of one hour and a half before making them taste it.

The two men looked at her with absolute surprise in their eyes and then smiled at her.

It hadn't been more than a second later that she was told they were hiring her, which made Shahwar stunned more than they were.

She couldn't believe it. She wanted to but couldn't. She had got a job on her own.

She was asked to join from the next day and was told to bring some documents for identification purposes.

She was just happily nodding at everything right now, too extremely overwhelmed with her own emotions at the moment.

Meanwhile, Rehaan Kazmi's car had passed by the road where one of his drivers had parked his car near a cafe street.

His driver informed him about it and he asked for the car to stop.

His instincts said that he knew why one of his cars would be out in the middle of the day but his memory from last night was making him enraged.

He asked Ibaad to check with the driver for the reason, why the car was there.

Ibaad came back and told him that Shahwar was inside the cafe on the street.

Getting out of the car he angrily walked towards the place.

He had specifically told her to tell him everything.

Just last night. And she was out here without his knowledge.

Especially when she'd been discharged from the hospital only a day ago.

Rehaan was going to explode at her, he knew it.

He had been almost ten to fifteen steps away from the door when Shahwar walked out.

She was feeling over the moon and then she saw Rehaan in front of her.

The moment she sighted him, she ran in his direction in full velocity and threw her arms around his neck hugging him tightly.

Rehaan was taken aback and forgot about everything the instant her body touched his.

He couldn't move or function for a few minutes.

His wife was holding him like he was truly the best husband in the world, right in the middle of a busy street, and his fury had turned to a melted puddle of marshmallow now.

"I got the job." She pressed her face on his neck and his hand went on her head smoothing her hair softly.

Few minutes later she pulled back with the biggest smile and her very pink cheeks had turned red due to the overjoyed expression she had. "Did you hear me Rehaan? They hired me!" She gave a slight jump holding one of his hands.

He didn't even know when had he started to smile looking at the person who was so shattered yesterday and was now looking like she'd seen heaven.

He'd never seen that smile on her ever since they had met.

This was true and pure happiness. For a second he wanted to capture it.

His wife's beauty was extraordinary and now it heightened further.

Getting a little hold of everything that was happening, he cleared his throat, and looked at her with raised brows, "You got a job?"

"Yes!" She was still the same. Nothing varied even if he spoke, his smile widened.

"You didn't inform me before about this, I told you last night to do so didn't I Shahwar?" He wasn't upset but he was still pointing it out.

"You did?"

"Yes I did."

"You said so many things, mujhe toh adhi se ziada baatien bhool bhi gayi." She giggled with another jump making him more surprised.

(I forgot more than half of the things you said.)

"It's useless to try and be mad at you right now. You're too happy, aren't you?" He held her other hand in his too.

"Yes I am!" Another hop from Shahwar made him chuckle this time.

"Okay. Come now." He started walking towards his car holding her hand and she did just the same with excitement on her face.

"Are we going home?" She asked when he opened the car door for her to sit.

"Not we, you are." He said trying to go back to his usual tone.

"Me? But I want to walk around the city." She slightly whined.

"Shahwar. It's just been a day. Just one. Since you came out of the hospital. Rest first. Please." He gave her a tired look.

"I'm fine now. Better than ever." She passed a cute little nod, this wasn't really going well for Rehaan and his plan to scold her.

"You will probably start your work soon I guess so, store your energy for that now. City strolls can happen when you're well rested."

"I start tomorrow." She was standing against the car not getting inside.

"Tomorrow?" He was not okay with that.

"Yes." Her eyes sparkled.

"Shahwar." It came as a warning.

"No, no, no, please, don't say mean things right now." Her sparkle vanished and she sighed.

It didn't settle well for Rehaan. He liked her happy more. "Okay I won't. Now please go home and rest, so you can work properly tomorrow."

"I'm very happy." She was looking at him with the smile he liked now.

"You've told me that for a while now." He gestured his head towards the car for her to get inside.

"I'm going. But I'm happy." She sat inside the car.

"I'll be back home in two hours." He gave her a blink of his eye and closed the door. The car started moving after Rehaan told the driver to go home directly.
