A month and two weeks had passed since the accident and Shahwar had now completely healed. There was only a tiny minute scar on her abdomen that reminded her of it now.

The owner of the cafe where she worked had himself visited Shahwar two weeks after the incident and given her first cheque to her. He'd also assured her that she could come back whenever she wanted to work. It had been quite unbelievable for her but she'd felt so relieved after that.

Today she was going back to her work. Rehaan had been home till the day her stitches were removed, the following week he'd come back from work at lunch and when Shahwar was all good to run, jump and hop without even limping a little he'd gone back to work.

Though she wasn't allowed to go till one whole month had passed by.

She didn't try to rebel especially after the bath incident.

She went down for breakfast where Rehaan was already at the table having his. When he was done eating he stood up and said, "I'll drop you off today." It made Shahwar's mood turn sour.

She didn't want to go with master Kazmi.

He'd been so viciously vigilant about her health keeping an eye on her at all times that now she wanted to run away from him.

He wouldn't even let her go to the kitchen or garden without Isabel and washroom was considered a forbidden place unless he'd himself not suspect anything fishy about the visit to the place.

It had been so embarrassing for her but he was being completely fine about the whole thing.

"Can't I go with the driver?" She tried to give a smile to him for persuasion.

"No." The reply came immediately and with firmness, she knew there was no space for convincing.

Shahwar stood up after finishing the food and went to the living room where he was sitting using his phone and then looked up at her sensing her presence.

"Rehaan." She used her sweetest voice and smile, facing him.

"Hm?" He knew it was a tone meant for a purpose and didn't let it affect him one bit.

"I'm not a baby. Please can I go myself?" Her smile grew cuter with each word.

"No." Brief and exact.

"It will look like I'm being dropped to school by my father." She whined a little.

"I'm going with you, that's it." The reply came with conviction and she frowned.

"Please, I'm a complete grown up, please, please, pretty please Rehaan." His heart was obviously not normal because anyone who'd look at Shahwar right now could have melted and he had to deny his mind and body from doing so.

"We're wasting time here." He got up from the sofa sliding his hands into his pockets.

"Okay." She turned sad looking at the floor giving up.

It didn't do well with Rehaan and his hand moved to lift her face up to look at him, "Call me the moment driver drops you off."

Shahwar's faced shined bright at his words as she jumped with happiness and cupped his face in her hands giving him a very warm squeeze, "I'll be good I promise."

He gave a low sigh, "Come back home on time." She knew what that meant. The last time when she hadn't it had been a catastrophe.

"I will, I will." Shahwar's words were genuine and she stepped back giving him a final smile.

"Bye."

Who could have known that the new owner of that cafe was now Rehaan Kazmi who had made the previous owner sit there as the boss to act in front of his wife.

It was a very Rehaan Kazmi thing for him to do but he had tried his best not to till the accident happened and the owner had called on her phone, which he had answered one day later to the incident when he dared to say that he'd have to hire another person in her place because he needed staff to accommodate the workload for the kitchen.

The very next day that man was given double the price of the place and the ownership had been transferred to Rehaan. All of this was to be kept in complete secrecy from Shahwar.

The day passed by with Shahwar doing everything with excitement at work. She came back home earlier as her boss asked her to end her shift before her time today being her first day back. As soon as she was back she called Rehaan to inform him like she had when she went to work in the morning.

Rehaan Kazmi's phone rang when he was in a very important meeting in his office with his managing directors.

When he didn't answer the phone on the first call she called for the second time and then the third.

At the fourth call when everyone in the meeting room started moving their eyes down in alertness he answered, "Yes? "

"I came back home." She sounded very cheerful.

He went outside the meeting room, "And?" His voice grew stronger.

"Uh, I just thought that I should tell you about it." She felt uneasy with the atmosphere of the conversation.

"I have important things to do rather than tending to your unnecessary thoughts Dur e Shahwar." The sharp reply hit her like a slap.

"I'm sorry, I think I've disturbed you. Bye." She managed a reply with a heavy chest and cut the call.

Rehaan didn't want to continue with the meeting anymore and he dismissed everyone.

Meanwhile at home Shahwar wandered in the kitchen as dinner was being prepared, she had been readying the lemon cheesecake for her husband as a gift of gratitude before he had spoken to her over the call and making her feel worthless like she had always thought she was to him.

She looked at the cake and then decided to go away from there.

Lurking around she went to one of the spare rooms of the house and sat there.

She'd thought that maybe things could be better between Rehaan and her but she'd been wrong.

All along. She thought that maybe he'd not see her as a burden so much if she tried to adjust everything according to his lifestyle.

Truth was she was never going to be anyone to him.

Shahwar decided to stop herself from trying to make things work between them like they were on good terms with each other.

They had no terms that could be even developed because her husband never wanted them to.

Isabel came looking for Shahwar and called her for dinner after a while.

Shahwar went to the table and saw Rehaan seated there, she sat down quietly not looking at him again.

Finishing her dinner she stood up but the house help came and placed the cake on the table for them thinking it was what she might want for dessert.

Shahwar didn't sit back down and left to go upstairs to the bedroom.

Neither she wanted to create a scene by mentioning the unwanted thing she'd made nor she wanted to even eat it.

She washed her face and came out of the bathroom to find Rehaan standing outside the bathroom door.

Avoiding his face she moved aside and walked but he held her wrist and stopped her.

"Shahwar." She looked at his hand that held hers with an exhausted expression.

"Yes?" There was no emotion in her voice, something that was never common.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have spoken to you like that." Rehaan wanted to bang his own head against the wall for being the reason of making her look the way she was looking since he had come home.

"There's nothing to be sorry. I don't know what you're talking about." She slipped her hand out of his grip.

"You made the cake for me?" He stepped closer to her and she looked away from him.

"It was stupid. I'm a stupid person. Just ignore it." She took some deep breaths while speaking and fixed her eyes on the rug at floor.

"You're not stupid, and you know exactly what I'm talking about Shahwar.

" He took both her hands in his and pulled her close.

"I'm sorry, very sorry, I was out of line and there's no excuse for it.

" He rested his chin over her head, he felt so much remorse that looking at her eyes was making him furious at his actions.

"You don't have to do this, I understand everything." Shahwar pushed herself back and forced a smile to control her breath.

"What do you understand?" He was getting worried with how she was talking.

"I should go to sleep. I feel a little tired today." Shahwar moved towards the bed wanting to be away from him.

He stood looking at her as she lied down and pulled the covers over her. Rehaan truly felt guilt for destroying what he had started to finally feel comfortable with in his life.
