SIXTEEN

LENNIE

I lay in bed, still buzzing hours after our encounter in Dante’s secret sex room. My mind raced with thoughts about what would have happened if we went further. God, I wanted him. I’d wanted him from the moment I met him, but now it was painfully obvious from the wetness pooling between my thighs.

I grabbed the pillow next to me and put it over my face, letting out a groan of frustration.

No one had ever had this effect or made me feel as alive as I had when Dante took the rope between my thighs.

I began to conjure up images of my body tied in his ropes, suspended in the air as he teased and fucked me.

I needed to get some of this pent-up frustration out of me.

Tomorrow, or today, rather, was my first day back in the Hive, and I wanted to be on my game.

Before I placed the pillow back to the side and moved my hand between my breasts, then down to my sleep shorts.

Slowly I slipped my hand under the waistband and let out a soft sigh when I reached my clit.

I moved my fingers in tight circles as pleasure bubbled up inside me.

I pictured a broody doctor placing kisses down my thighs before running his tongue up my center.

More liquid flooded my panties. I worked my clit faster, trying hard to keep the noises that were coming out of me under control. My orgasm built quickly and within seconds, I was coming undone, letting the feeling of euphoria crest over me.

“Fuck,” I breathed out in a whisper as my body convulsed with pleasure.

I took my hands out of my shorts and lay there as my breathing began to steady. I couldn’t help but wonder if Dante was touching himself too. I hoped he was as turned on as I was.

My eyelids began to droop, and a wave of exhaustion crashed over me before I closed my eyes for the night. For the second time since my kidnapping, I wasn’t thinking about what had happened, and finally slept without being plagued by dreams of violence.

I walked into the Hive the next morning feeling well rested and calm. When I’d gone downstairs that morning, Dante had brewed me coffee, but seemed to be distant. A pang of longing had washed through me at his coldness. But maybe it was for the best. I didn’t need or want anything complicated.

I had already made things complicated with Bohdi, who was texting me nonstop, asking if I was okay and when he could see me again.

Guilt clouded my brain as I thought about what I’d done with him.

He was attractive, funny, and caring. But the past proved that we were nothing but just friends who occasionally hooked up.

My guilt only increased as I found I couldn’t stop thinking about Dante. The way his t-shirt had fit his broad shoulders and flat stomach. The way his chest had felt warm against mine as he kissed my neck.

I was lost in thought when I realized Ollie was looking at me expectantly.

I shook my head to dissolve all of the naughty thoughts in my mind. “Hm?”

Ollie gave me a smirk. “I asked how you’re feeling.”

Heat bloomed on my cheeks. I took a sip of the coffee Dante had made me before answering. It tasted good; sweet and strong, just the way I liked it.

“Sore, but fine,” I responded as I walked over to my desk filled with monitors.

Jax gave me a worried look. “Are you sure you’re okay?”

His brown eyes were glassy, as if it physically pained him to know I was hurting.

I gave him a small smile that didn’t reach my eyes as flashes of what I had been through crossed my mind. “I’ll be okay, Jax. Don’t worry.”

He gave me a short nod before turning back to his computer.

Gwen and I went over our tasks for the day.

It felt weird not seeing Evelyn, but I didn’t want to pry into her business.

I could imagine that being with the Don of the Mafia was complicated, to say the least. The last I had spoken to her they were taking time apart, giving each other space. But I knew that wouldn’t last.

After getting settled with my tasks for the day, I got to work trying to find out where Sarah may be hiding. By the end of the day, I was exhausted. As I walked out of the building with Jax and Gwen, my phone pinged.

DANTE:

I’m out front of the office to bring you to my place.

Warmth spread through my chest seeing his name pop up on my phone. I wondered what mischief I could do tonight to get him to tie me in his ropes or use one of his toys on me.

I said goodbye to my friends and walked to Dante’s Jeep that was, in fact, waiting for me.

As soon as I climbed in, I was overwhelmed by his scent. Warm and spicy and everything that screamed “man.”

He looked at me with a stern expression. If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought that he wasn’t happy to see me. But I shook the thought away as fast as it had come.

“Hi,” I said in greeting as I buckled my seat belt.

He grunted and gave me a quick nod in response before turning on his directional and moving into traffic.

The ride was quiet and slightly awkward.

Embarrassment at what I had done last night hit me like a truck.

Dante’s hands gripped the steering wheel until his knuckles were white. What was his deal?

“Kade let me know my window is fixed,” I said, trying to start some sort of conversation.

“That’s good,” he said hoarsely.

I looked out the window, watching as we got out of the city. “I think it would be fine for me to go home tomorrow.”

Dante looked at me, anger flashing in his eyes. “I haven’t gotten the results back from the evidence we took at your place. It would be wise to stay another day or two to see what we discover.”

I looked at him, bewildered. Did he want me to stay with him again? My stomach fluttered at the thought. No, there was no way he wanted that. He was just being a good friend to Kade.

“Okay,” I said, unsure how else to respond.

We pulled up to the massive house and parked in the garage. As I went upstairs to get changed, I couldn’t help but look at the room at the end of the hall. Its door was slightly ajar, as if it was taunting me.

“Next time we do this, you will be invited in here.” Dante’s words echoed in my mind as I stared at the door. I shook my head out of the trance I was in and got into comfy clothes.

Would he invite me tonight? Maybe that was wishful thinking on my part. Only time would tell.
