“What are we going to do now? What do we do without Pulse here?”
“Find a new lead, I guess?”
"How? There was no runner-up. It wasn't even in talks yet for a successor. How are we supposed to find a replacement?"
“We have to try. We have a lot of talent here.”
"But who gets to choose?"
“We vote on it?”
“You’ve gotta be kidding me.”
"We have to do something, otherwise we are performing without a lead.”
“Damn it, why did Pulse leave like this? Without warning! For a Carbon-Creature no less!”
“The Pulsars' young, they will do foolish things here and there.”
"They are not that young. They should have been more responsible than just leaving us all behind for some—some human. In some galaxy eons away. What were they thinking!?"
“Hey, we can't stress about that right now. They will come back. Very shortly. You know how short those carbon-creatures live.”
“It just makes me madder knowing that. From what I hear, they're not even with her right now. She's in some nightmare while they are doing whatever in the wishing section.”
“Again, we can't fret about—”
"What were they hoping for? She's not even compatible with our kind. Even in that dream state. She's not even going to—"
"Enough, Velocity. You are too worried and distracted with things we can't influence. Our job right now is finding a new lead until Pulse comes back."
"After this, I don't think they should be a lead anymore. What was Black Star thinking, choosing them when they do this?"
"We do not talk ill of Black Star. He had his own reasoning for choosing Pulse, even if we don't fully understand. Now shut up about that, and let's get to work. Can you do that?"
“Fucking—Alright. Alright. Where do we start?”
