Chapter 8
Landon
“Ilove your smartass,” I told her.
She winked at me playfully. “You mean you love my ass.”
“Of course I do. But, sweetheart, I love everything about you.”
I leaned down and dropped my lips to hers as my thumb rubbed circles across her mound.
Her moan vibrated through me, fueling me on, but I was determined to go slow, and I wasn’t done telling her how I felt.
Pulling my mouth from hers, I looked down into her ocean-blue eyes and held her stare.
“Not a day goes by that I’m not thankful you gave me another chance, and I’ll always cherish that and you.”
My thumb stilled as I spoke because I needed her to really hear me. Not that I hadn’t said these things before, but because of my love for her, I thought it was important she heard it over and over.
Any playfulness had vanished from her face, and her eyes shimmered with tears.
“You and our family, those with us and those not, are my whole world.”
My heart pounded in my chest, ready to burst for the woman lying beneath me. She wasn’t a crier, and that wetness that slid down her cheeks told me how moved she was.
“I love you with all my heart.”
A shuddered breath slipped from her pretty, pink lips. “I love you too.”
Neither of us had been in love with anyone else in our lives. Sometimes you got lucky and just found your soulmate first. And I wasn’t only damn lucky to have found Alley, but also to be loved by her.
A few seconds later, my wife wiggled beneath me. “Now do you think you are ready for dessert?”
That’s my girl.
