Chapter 4
Ezra
Igrip my cock, stroking my hand along my shaft. The squelch of the lube makes me imagine the sound of Kiki’s wet pussy around my dick. After she said she was in the bathtub, all I could do was end the call, intent on putting my aching cock out of its misery.
My hips punch up into my tight fist from where I lie flat on my bed, moving as if controlled by a power outside of me.
Since I became a full-time dad, I’ve barely had a second to think about a woman, let alone make plans with one.
I just can’t seem to get Kiki out of my head.
Maybe if we have dinner together, I can quench this sudden thirst I have for her.
Pleasure zings from my balls throughout my entire body as they draw tight. “Fuck,” I hiss, as my orgasm hits.
I tilt my cock so my cum jets into a pool on my stomach. As soon as I’m finished coming, I release my cock and drop my arm to my side. My breath is choppy as I try to recover.
A quick glance at my phone tells me I need to hurry and clean up so I can video chat with Theo.
Since his mom died, he struggles to be away from me.
I made a promise to always say goodnight when he’s with his grandma.
His therapist suggested it after the first time he stayed with Carla after Staci died.
Theo melted down and cried so hard he made himself vomit.
My heart aches when I think of the loss he’s experienced in his short life.
I quickly clean my stomach and pull on a t-shirt with my carpentry business’s logo on the front.
Staci’s mom accepts my call and hands the phone to Theo without so much as a hello.
It used to upset me that she doesn’t seem to like me, but now I’m convinced that’s just how she is with everyone except Theo.
The first time I met her was at Staci’s funeral.
Carla cornered me, scared I would keep Theo from her.
I think her distance toward me is more about that fear than anything else.
“Daddy!” Theo smiles widely, showing me where he’s missing one of his bottom front teeth.
“You lost a tooth,” I say, trying to sound excited despite being disappointed I wasn’t there for this first.
“Grandma said I can put it under my pillow and the tooth fairy will give me a dollar.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, she said that’s what happened when Mommy lost her baby teeth.”
My chest tightens when I think about how hard it must be for Carla to experience these firsts instead of her daughter. We finish our chat and say good night. As soon as we hang up, I text Carla.
Me: Thank you for being such a wonderful grandma to Theo. He and I are both lucky to have you. I’m glad you got to be there for his first lost tooth.
I know it’s not much, but hopefully it’s a start to a better relationship between us.
Carla: We’ll see you Sunday at noon.
I chuckle without humor. Good old Carla. Guess that’s the best I can expect. Still, I’m not going to stop trying.
