Luxe
A couple days later
I lay there, staring up at the ceiling in my bedroom.
Thoughts of the other night kept replaying in my head.
The way Ghost handled me and looked at me, .
. . it had me so hot and bothered. I wanted to sleep with him right then and there despite the words too young and baby kept leaving my lips.
I’d never yearned for someone as much as I wanted Ghost.
He was a baby in my eyes. I shouldn’t even have those thoughts about him. It just made me wonder what would’ve happened between us if his phone hadn’t rang.
After his phone call, I made my way back to my bedroom and locked myself inside, too afraid that I might just leave back out and find Ghost. The last thing I needed was for me to end up in his bed.
Things between us had been quite awkward ever since. We hadn’t been doing much talking. My phone vibrated. I looked over and saw that it was Sol calling me. Picking it up, I swiped the screen and placed it on speaker.
“Well, if it isn’t the trader. What you want?”
“Don’t be doing me like that. Savion asked me to help him out. I didn’t know you weren’t aware they were moving you.”
“Uh-huh, I bet you didn’t.” I playfully rolled my eyes and twirled one of my curls.
“I was calling to see if you wanted to get out. I know you haven’t been anywhere since you came back. I know how it feels to be locked away like a prisoner.”
“I do kind of need some fresh air. What do you have in mind?”
“We can go grab food. If it makes you feel any better, I can ask Savion if Ghost can stay behind, and we just use my detail.”
“Please do.” My mind drifted back to what almost happened between us.
“Okay. Be ready in about an hour. I’ll come pick you up.”
“Kay.”
I ended the call and shot straight up in bed. A break from Ghost was exactly what I needed. Maybe the time away from him would bring my common sense back since it seemed like I’d lost them along the way somehow.
Getting out the bed, I went over to the closet to find me something to put on.
It was just dinner with my sister, so I didn’t have to worry about going all out with my outfit.
Normally, I’d dress to impress whenever I went out with her in case I ran into my future husband while I was out, but lately, I hadn’t even really been thinking about a man.
There was a knock at my bedroom door. I poked my head out the closet to see Ghost had opened the door. “Who did you have to bribe to get out the house without me?”
I guessed whatever Sol said to Savion must’ve worked if Ghost was in here mugging me now.
“Just be lucky that you have a night off. Go out and enjoy yourself or something,” I told him and went back into the closet. I wasn’t certain what he did for fun, but I was sure he’d be able to find something for him to do.
“I just don’t think it’s a good idea.”
Grabbing this pink minidress, I exited the closet and tossed it onto the bed. “I will be fine. You know that I can handle myself; plus, I’ll be with Sol and her detail. I’ll be more than safe. Don’t worry your pretty little head about me.”
“Just watch your fucking back. Make sure you take some protection with you. Don’t trust them to protect you like I would.”
“Anything else, daddy?” I cracked a grin at the joke I just made. Ghost was standing in here telling me what to do, like he was my daddy and this was my first time going out with my friends.
“Don’t call me that.” He frowned.
“Aww, why not? Does it turn you on?”
“Keep fucking playing and your ass gon’ end up fucked,” was the only thing he said before leaving out the room and shutting the door behind him.
I stepped out the door, and Sol’s car was parked outside with a Tahoe directly behind her.
It was nice that I was about to be riding in a car instead of a damn truck for the first time in a while.
I understand that the truck Ghost drove was bulletproof, but I was sick and tired of riding in that shit.
It was boring as fuck, and I missed the speed of my Lamborghini.
“Hey, girl,” I said soon as I got into the car.
“Hey!”
Sol sped away from the curb. I didn’t ask her where she was taking me; I was just excited to be getting away from the house.
Before I left, Ghost had given me a key card so that I could get back into the apartment.
He made it known that he wouldn’t go to sleep until I made it back and he knew I was safe.
Sol drove until we made it to this restaurant called Velvet & Vine.
I’d eaten here one time before, but it was a business dinner.
It was cool the last time that I came. It didn’t have a lot of stuff that stood out to me on the menu, but I was certain that I’d be able to find something that I’d want to eat.
We got out the car and Sol’s security climbed out their trucks. As we made our way to the door, these two guys were exiting. One of them held the door for us.
“Y’all beautiful as hell,” the one who held the door said.
“Thank you,” Sol spoke. I didn’t care to say thank you to his ass. If I said thank you, that was just going to open the door for him to think that he could hold a conversation with me.
He looked down at Sol’s finger and saw the massive rock on it, so he didn’t even bother to say anything to us. If he said something to me, I would just hit him with ASL and walk on into the restaurant. I didn’t have time for the foolishness.
We got into the restaurant and saw that there were a lot of people in there. That should’ve been expected on a Friday night like that.
“How many?” the hostess asked when she looked at us.
“Two,” Sol responded.
“There’s an hour wait. Are you fine with that?”
“No,” Sol quickly responded. “I’m sure y’all have a table in here somewhere for us.
Or should I call my daddy or husband. Mr. Saint-Mercier or Corvo.
Which one would you prefer to deal with?
” That was just like Sol to be tossing her weight around like that.
Whatever doors Saint-Mercier couldn’t open, Corvo damn sure did.
“Hold on. I think we might have a table available.”
“That’s what I thought,” Sol replied.
The hostess picked up two menus and said, “Right this way,” and then stepped from behind the booth.
We followed her to the middle of the restaurant that transitioned into another room. It was dimly lit in there like they used it for romantic dinners or something. Neither one of us cared as long as we were able to get a table.
She placed the menus down, and Sol and I took our seats. The security stood near the entrance of the room to keep an eye on us.
“You just love doing that, don’t you?” I asked Sol, and a smile crept onto her face.
“I love seeing their skin crawl because don’t play with me.”
She picked up the menu and instantly went to the drink section. I stared at my menu, mind drifting back to Ghost. The thought of if he felt the same way after our almost kiss flooded my mind. Deep down, I kind of wish the kiss actually did happen. Why did his phone have to ring and interrupt us?
“Luxe?” Sol called my name, bringing me from my thoughts.
I looked over at her, and she stared at me with a raised brow.
That was when I noticed the waitress was standing at our table.
I was so trapped in my thoughts that I hadn’t realized she walked up.
“For a second, I thought you took your hearing aids out,” Sol said.
“I’m sorry. Let me get a French 75,” I told the waitress and took my attention back to the menu to figure out what I wanted to order.
“Are you all ready to place your order now, or do you need some more time?”
“More time.” Sol answered for us both, and the waitress left the table.
“Are you okay?” Sol wasted no time asking me once we were alone.
I couldn’t tell her what happened between me and Ghost because then she’d just rub it in my face.
I wasn’t sure how she’d feel about the age difference between us.
It was really no one else’s business, but that didn’t ever stop people from having an opinion on other people’s lives.
Instead of telling her the truth, I lied and said, “Nothing.”
“You sure?”
“Yeah. I’m just ready for all this mess to be over with. I want to get back to my normal life.” That wasn’t a lie. I hadn’t been at Ghost’s place long. Though I had everything that I’d need there, I still missed being in my own bed. I missed my house. I missed spending time in my garden.
“Yeah, I understand that,” Sol replied.
We stayed at the restaurant for a couple of hours, and then Sol took me back to Ghost’s place. She didn’t make any other stops along the way, as if she’d promised to bring me back on a curfew or something.
The car stopped outside the building, and I stared up at it. A sigh released from me.
“It’ll be over before you know it,” she assured me, but I wasn’t so sure about all that.
“Thanks for the night, girl. I love you,” I said as I climbed out the car and shut the door behind me. Sol and her detail sat outside until I made it into the building and the door shut behind me.
The lobby was quiet. No one was at the front desk. I noticed some of the gym equipment moving as I headed toward the elevator. Stopping, I pressed the up button and waited for it to get to me. When I got inside, I tapped the key card and then hit Ghost’s floor.
The elevator let me off. I headed down the hallway in the direction of the apartment. After what happened between us, I couldn’t even fully enjoy myself, because I was terrified of getting drunk and coming back and climbing into his bed.
As I entered the house, it was a bit quiet.
The lights were still on, which meant he’d stayed up to wait for me to come back like he said.
I went into the kitchen to grab me a bottle of water before I started turning off everything and headed to my bedroom.
Opening the refrigerator, I grabbed a bottle of the Eternal water and twisted the top off.
Placing it to my lips, I took a sip and heard, “Fuck, yeeeeeeah.” The water sprayed everywhere.
I just knew I wasn’t tripping. Easing down the hallway toward Ghost’s bedroom, my ears perked even more.
“Fuck, right there,” a woman’s voice said.
I stopped at his doorway to see Ghost deep in some thick girl’s pussy from behind.
He was paining the shit out of her ass, and she was tossing her shit back like there was no tomorrow.
He pulled his dick all the way out to the tip, and my eyes damn near fell out the sockets.
Every time I brushed against him, I could feel his big ass dick, but I didn’t think it was that huge.
That man was working with a monster, and he was making my pussy throb just from getting a glimpse of it.
Never in a million years did I ever think I’d walk into this house and catch this man fucking someone else, especially not after our little moment from the other night. I couldn’t even lie. It stung a little bit to see him with another woman.
Stepping further into his bedroom, I grabbed the first thing I could reach on the dresser and lunged it toward his head. My aim was off a bit, so it zoomed past him and put a dent into the wall. His cologne dropped to the floor, and Ghost’s head whipped in my direction with his gun aimed at me.
“You might as well gone and shoot me because I’m about to fuck your ass up!” I charged in his direction, knowing full and well I had no right to be angry with this man like he was in here cheating on me.
“Who the fuck is this bitch!” Ghost caught me by the waist before I was able to fully reach the bed. The girl turned around and stared at me with a devilish smirk on her face. I could tell that she was one for drama.
“Ghost, you didn’t tell me that your auntie was in town. Hey, I’m Chris.” She extended her hand in my direction, and I caught her middle finger and bent that shit back as far as it would go. “Ahhh!” She screamed and covered her hand with the other.
“I’m gon’ show you an auntie!”
I wiggled in his grasp, but Ghost wasn’t crazy enough to let me go.
“Chris, just get your stuff and gone leave,” he suggested.
“Nah, let the bitch stay so I can shove my foot up her ass!”
“Why are you in here acting a fool?” Ghost questioned me, but I wasn’t trying to question my sanity right now. This was the exact reason why I said I didn’t like myself whenever I liked someone. My feelings caused me to do some of the craziest things.
“You fucking old bitch. You broke my finger,” Chris said with a snarl.
“I’m gon’ break yo’ fucking neck once he lets me go,” I warned.
“Chris, just grab your stuff and leave. I’ll pay for your hospital visit.”
“No, the hell you won’t. She shouldn’t have ever brought her ass over here in the first place. She’ll be all right.”
“You’re insane,” Chris said, grabbing her clothes off the floor. She struggled with one hand to get back dressed. Once she was done, she left out the room, and Ghost didn’t release me until he heard the front door shut.
“Have you lost your mind?” he asked me.
My eyes zeroed in on his dick. It still looked huge and it was limp. Fuck.
Brushing my loose strands of hair back behind my ear, I replied, “Maybe,” pursed my lips, and left out of his bedroom.
“Why were you acting like that?” He came out behind me. Nigga still wasn’t dressed. He was begging for something to happen to him.
“I was stupid. That’s all,” was the only response he got before I punched him in the dick and went into my bedroom and shut the door behind me.
