Epilogue
Three Months Later
She rode his cock as if it were the last time she’d be able to. But he already had plans for their evening as well, feasting on her wet cunt as she lay bare for him on his dining room table, just as he’d said he’d do almost a year ago. Lila moaned, bouncing on top of him as Ambrose bruised her hips with his fingers. And he knew she loved it.
The newly blooming sunflowers were facing them—facing her—as they made love in the garden in the middle of the day. It would still be hours before Robin would have to come to work, and he planned to spend all of it out here with her.
“You feel divine,” he groaned, throwing his head back into the grass. She always did, but taking her like this, where anyone might find them, the sunlight warming his skin—it was moments like these he’d been living for during the rest of the summer months.
Lila moaned, “Lords, fuck—I’m going to—” She screamed as her riding hesitated, feeling the hot burst of sweet cum drown his cock. Her pussy was so hot, so tight, so perfect—each and every time.
The feel of it alone was enough to send him over, finishing inside of her, just like she’d asked.
Lila slumped down on top of him, and rolled into the grass, still resting half of herself on his chest.
The sun beamed down on them, warming their skin, though the breeze kept them cool. It wasn’t fall just yet, but the first caresses were beginning to touch their skin, to turn the leaves. Lila smoothed her light pink sundress down, back over her thighs. Ambrose promised himself to properly clean her later, but for now, he enjoyed her weight on him. After adjusting himself, he rested his cheek against her head, drawing small circles on her upper back as he rubbed her.
“I could fall asleep out here, it’s so nice.” Lila stretched her legs like a cat then curled them toward her.
“You can, if you’d like. A nap sounds nice right now.” They both had been working tirelessly to get the Crow Court back to what it was, and it finally resembled the manor it once was.
Over the months, Lila had been traveling the four vampire manors of Malvania, healing or removing the remaining strigoi. She helped Nostro in the early stages of rebuilding the Maggot Mansion tower, and helped Rebekkah establish close bonds with the villages in the Viper Morada. She’d gone to the Arachnid Estate for Balzar’s funeral, and helped Maronai establish a proper system for humans and vampires to live in harmony.
Meanwhile, Ambrose had rebuilt. He joined the people of the Crow Court and traveled all around—first to Asterim and then to the neighboring towns and villages, all the way to Catacomb City and back. He worked, with his own two hands, to rebuild what once was, to build new, and to help those in need. With the help of Constance and Kazimir, Ambrose had reestablished the trade in his land between humans and vampires, and made sure everyone had plenty of food and shelter.
All the while, he began training Marcus, both in education and combat. He was teaching the young man to be a vampire, to be a warrior. And it seemed he was reveling in his newfound strength, finally growing confident in his new fangs.
Finally, after everyone else had been taken care of, Lila and Ambrose were focusing their efforts on the manor.
Lila’s room was still a mess, and she hadn”t returned since the summer solstice. Since Hektor. Ambrose’s office had also been destroyed, and was in the process of being pieced back together.
The garden had been slowly replanted, and Lila requested a field of sunflowers in honor of the Sun Maiden. The field they were now laying in. At the opening to the garden, the wisteria still swayed in the wind, the lavender stalks were still used for tea, and the entire garden was abundant in lilacs and hyacinths.
Lila put her hand on Ambrose’s chest, and he took it, entwining their fingers as he slowly massaged the crow and sun mark on her ring finger.
“Will you be my wife?” he mused.
Though everyone had been asking repeatedly, Lila and Ambrose felt they both had been too busy to even begin planning their wedding, though he still liked to tease her about it. And they wanted it to be exactly what they wanted. So, instead of rushing things, they decided to wait. Decided to give it the time it deserved. After all, they had forever.
“Hmm. What will you give me if I do?”
He felt her smile against his bare chest, his shirt open. Ambrose kissed her forehead and whispered with his voice like liquid gold, “Anything, love.”
