The Supply Road to Charlotte

Spring has finally come to the Hollow, bringing a chance to plant, rebuild, and prepare for the year ahead.

Then a battered stranger reaches the gate with news David Turner cannot ignore: a shipment of medical supplies sits in the abandoned rail yards of Charlotte, two hundred miles away, if it is still there.

Leaving Grace and the boys behind, he sets out with Karen, Curtis, Smokey, and four horses through countryside stirring after a long winter, on roads now open to communities trying to rebuild and to people who survive by taking what they want.

In Charlotte they find more than they expected, and the problem becomes how to move a loaded wagon of cargo nearly two hundred miles home.

With tired horses and supplies worth killing for, staying unnoticed is no longer possible.
