Chapter 9 Dominic
The moment Amelia started pulling away, I felt it like a phantom limb—a part of me that should be there but isn’t.
She’s slipping through my fingers, and I can’t stand it.
At work, I bury myself in meetings, presentations, numbers that should make sense but don’t. The company is thriving, my responsibilities expanding, but none of it keeps me from glancing at my phone, wondering if she’ll reach out.
She doesn’t.
Eleanor corners me in my office after a briefing on the upcoming regency visit.
“You look like hell, Dominic.”
I sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose. “Not now, Eleanor.”
She takes a seat across from my desk, folding her hands neatly in her lap. “When, then? When you’ve driven yourself into the ground trying to fight a battle you’re destined to lose?”
I glare at her. “And what battle is that?”
She tilts her head, studying me. “The one where you think you can have her without consequences.”
My jaw tightens. “I never said that.”
“No, but you feel it,” she counters. “I’ve watched you struggle with this for weeks. You want her, but you also know what’s coming.”
I exhale, shoving back from my desk. “I need a break.”
Eleanor raises an eyebrow. “From what?”
From everything. From the weight pressing down on my shoulders, from the expectations, from the inevitability of what’s to come.
I grab my phone, already knowing exactly what I need to do.
I find Amelia at the hospital, finishing up paperwork at the nurses’ station.
When she looks up and sees me, surprise flickers across her face before she masks it with cool professionalism.
“Dominic,” she greets, her tone even. “What are you doing here?”
I slide my hands into my pockets, studying her carefully. “You’re avoiding me.”
Her lips press together. “I’ve been busy.”
“I know avoidance when I see it,” I say. “You’re not just busy, Amelia. You’re retreating.”
She sighs, rubbing her temples. “It’s complicated.”
I step closer. “Then let’s simplify it.”
She blinks. “What?”
“Come away with me,” I say, watching her reaction closely. “Just for the weekend. No expectations, no obligations. Just us.”
Amelia hesitates. “Dominic?—”
I cut her off. “No press. No council. No corporate bullshit. Just you and me.”
She stares at me, and for the first time in days, I see the conflict in her eyes crack just a little.
“Where?”
I allow myself a small smile. “You’ll see.”
The drive to the coast is quiet, but not uncomfortably so. Amelia watches the scenery shift—from towering skyscrapers to open roads, from the blur of city lights to the calm stretch of an ocean horizon.
“You’re kidnapping me,” she mutters, arms crossed as she stares out the window.
I smirk. “Not against your will.”
She sighs, but I catch the smallest twitch of her lips. It’s not much, but it’s something.
When we arrive at the secluded house nestled along the cliffs, she lets out a slow breath. “Wow.”
I cut the engine and glance at her. “We have the whole place to ourselves.”
She turns to me, skepticism written all over her face. “And why exactly are we here?”
“To escape,” I admit. “To figure out whatever the hell this is between us without anyone else interfering.”
Her expression softens, but she doesn’t answer immediately. Instead, she unbuckles her seatbelt and steps out of the car.
I follow her, watching as she walks toward the edge of the property, where the ocean stretches endlessly before us.
She exhales, hugging herself. “It’s beautiful.”
I step beside her. “You deserve a break.”
She scoffs, shaking her head. “You think a weekend will fix everything?”
“No,” I admit. “But it’s a start.”
Amelia turns to face me then, and for the first time in days, she doesn’t look like she’s carrying the weight of the world.
“Dominic, what are we doing?”
I reach for her hand, threading my fingers through hers. “Trying.”
She studies me, searching for something. Then, slowly, she nods.
And just like that, the distance between us fades.
The night air is thick with salt and possibility.
We sit near the fireplace, the only sound the rhythmic crash of waves below.
Amelia pulls her knees up to her chest, staring into the flames. “You never talk about your family,” she says after a moment.
I lean back against the couch, exhaling slowly. “There’s not much to say.”
She gives me a look. “Dominic.”
I smirk, but it’s weak. “Fine.”
For the first time in years, I talk.
About my father’s expectations. About the burden of being born into something I never wanted. About the constant pull between obligation and rebellion.
And she listens.
Not just with patience, but with understanding.
I glance at her. “Why are you really here?”
She hesitates. Then, quietly— “Because I wasn’t ready to walk away.”
The words slip between us, unspoken truths suddenly laid bare.
She wasn’t ready to walk away.
And neither was I.
Later that night, Amelia stands by the balcony, the wind catching her hair, making her look untouchable.
But she isn’t.
Not to me.
I step behind her, my hands sliding around her waist, pulling her back against my chest. She tenses—just for a moment—before melting into the touch.
“I want to make you feel alive, Amelia. I want to give you an experience you’ll never forget.
” Her eyes sparkled with a mixture of desire and uncertainty.
“What do you have in mind?” I leaned in, my lips brushing against her ear and sending a shiver down her spine.
“I want to pleasure you, every inch of your body. I want to hear you moan my name like never before.”
Amelia’s breath hitched as I saw the desire in her eyes. “Oh, Dominic…” she whispered, her voice hoarse with need.
I gently guided and pushed her back until she was leaning against the couch, her body on display.
I took a moment to admire her, my eyes roaming over her curves, the sight of her perky breasts straining against her shirt, and the hint of her lacy bra.
“You’re so beautiful,” I whispered, my voice hoarse with desire.
“I’ve wanted this for so long.” Amelia’s eyes closed as she leaned her head back, exposing the graceful line of her neck.
I couldn’t resist—my lips brushed against her sensitive skin as I kissed and nipped gently.
She let out a soft moan, her hands gripping my shoulders in encouragement.
I kissed my way down her neck, my hands working on the buttons of her shirt to reveal more of her smooth, creamy skin.
As I exposed her breasts, I paused to admire their perfection.
Her nipples, already hard and begging for attention, called to me.
I lowered my head, taking one taut peak into my mouth while my fingers teased the other.
Amelia arched her back, her hands threading through my hair, holding me close.
“Oh God, Dominic,” she panted. “That feels incredible.” I smiled against her skin, my hands moving to the waistband of her pants, unbuttoning and unzipping them slowly as my fingers brushed her sensitive skin.
She stepped out of her pants, now clad only in her lacy underwear—a vision of desire.
I took a moment to drink in every detail.
“You’re stunning,” I breathed, my voice thick with admiration.
“I want to taste every inch of you.” Her eyes fluttered open, a mixture of desire and vulnerability in her gaze.
“I’m all yours,” she whispered, her voice trembling.
I went down on my knees, my hands sliding up her thighs as I pushed her underwear aside, revealing her glistening core.
I inhaled her scent—a heady mix of desire and arousal—and it drove me wild.
“You’re so wet,” I murmured, my breath hot against her sensitive flesh.
“I can’t wait to taste you.” Lowering my head, I let my tongue trace her slit, tasting her sweetness.
I lapped at her folds, my tongue flicking her most sensitive spot and sending waves of pleasure through her body.
Amelia’s hands gripped the couch pillows behind her as she threw her head back in ecstasy.
“Oh, Dominic! Yes, right there,” she moaned, her hips thrusting forward, inviting me deeper.
I obliged, my tongue delving into her wetness while my fingers joined in, exploring her tight heat until she cried out, “I’m going to come, Dominic.
Oh God, I’m coming!” Her orgasm hit like a wave—her body convulsing as she came, her sweet juices flooding my mouth.
I savored every drop, my tongue never slowing, riding the aftershocks of her pleasure.
As her breathing slowed, I stood us up, our bodies pressed together—my hardness straining against my pants.
I wanted her, needed to be inside her, but I also wanted to savor every moment.
“That was…” she began, breathless. “Incredible,” I finished for her, capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
“But we’re not done yet.” I led her to the bedroom, my hands exploring her body as my lips trailed kisses down her neck, pausing to suckle her sensitive nipples through her bra.
Amelia’s hands were everywhere, tugging at my shirt, desperate to feel my skin against hers.
I obliged, peeling off my shirt to reveal my toned chest. Her hands roamed, her nails scraping my skin and leaving goosebumps in their wake.
I groaned, my desire for her intensifying with every touch.
“I need you, Dominic,” she whispered, her hands working on my belt and undoing it with trembling fingers.
“I want to feel you inside me.” I couldn’t deny her; I wanted the same thing.
I stepped back, kicked off my shoes, and shed my pants—my erection springing free, hard and ready.
Amelia’s eyes widened at the sight, her breath coming in short gasps.
“You’re so sexy,” she whispered, reaching out to stroke me as her touch sent sparks of pleasure through me.
I hissed, my body aching for release. “I want to be inside you, Amelia. I want to feel you tighten around me.” She nodded, her eyes never leaving mine. “Take me, Dominic. Please.”
I positioned myself at her entrance, my hands on her hips, guiding myself into her tight warmth.
She was so wet, so ready, and I slid in with ease—filling her completely.
We both moaned, the overwhelming sensation of being joined together.
I held still, allowing her to adjust to my size as our eyes locked in silent communication.
“Move, Dominic,” she pleaded, her nails digging into my hips.
“Please, I need more.” I began to thrust slowly at first, savoring the feeling of her silky walls surrounding me.
Leaning down, I captured her lips in a hungry kiss, our tongues dancing to the rhythm of our bodies.
Amelia’s hands roamed my back, her nails scraping my skin as she urged me on.
I obliged, increasing my pace, my thrusts growing harder and deeper—driving her towards the edge once more.
“Yes, yes, yes!” she chanted, her body meeting mine with each thrust as her nails left passionate marks on my shoulders.
I felt my own climax building, my body coiled tight and ready to explode.
“I’m close, Amelia. I want to come with you.
” She nodded, her eyes wild with desire.
“Together, Dominic. I want to feel you come inside me.” Her words were my undoing.
I thrust harder, faster—our bodies slamming together as we reached the brink.
“Oh God, yes!” she cried out, her body convulsing as her orgasm hit.
I couldn’t hold back any longer. With a final, powerful thrust, I came—my release flooding her depths as our bodies trembled in unison.
We collapsed against each other, hearts racing and breaths ragged.
I held her close, stroking her back and feeling the rise and fall of her chest. “That was…” she began, her voice hoarse.
“Incredible,” I finished, echoing her earlier words.
“And it’s only the beginning.” Amelia smiled, her eyes sparkling in the moonlight.
“I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for me, Dominic.” I kissed her softly, my heart overflowing with emotions I had never allowed myself to feel before. “Neither can I, Amelia. Neither can I.”
As we laid there, entwined in each other’s arms, the night deepened, the waves continued their rhythmic dance, and the fire crackled—a silent witness to our forbidden love. We knew this was just the start of something explosive, something that would change our lives forever.
I press a kiss to her temple. “Stay.”
She exhales, resting her forehead against my shoulder. “For how long?”
I don’t have an answer.
I just know that I’m not ready for this to end.
She searches my face, waiting for something I can’t give her. Then, finally, she whispers?—
“Okay.”
And just like that, we fall.
As the first light of morning filters through the window, I wake to Amelia curled against my chest, her breathing slow and steady.
I tighten my hold on her, unwilling to let go.
But as I stare at the horizon, I know?—
This stolen moment won’t last forever.
Something is coming.
And when it does, I might not have a choice but to let her go.
