Chapter 3 Chili In Every Bowl

Yang Fen did not bring Crayfish back.

She brought back several Eggplants and big Cucumbers.

Qin Xiao frowned, a little unhappy, and asked.

"Mom, where are the Crayfish I wanted?"

Yang Fen shot him an impatient look.

"Crayfish my ass. We went this late. They were sold out."

Qin Xiao let out an oh and looked at the new Cucumber and Eggplant with some disappointment.

At least the vegetables were big and fresh.

A trace of excitement flashed through Qin Xiao's eyes.

Yang Fen threw the vegetables on the table, stretched her mouth wide, and barked at me.

"Jiang Rou, get up and cook.

"Three months of marriage, and you cannot even produce an egg.

"I really do not know what use there was in my son marrying you."

I yawned, stretched, and shot back.

"Your son married me so he could worship me like an ancestor.

"My Husband never told me to cook. What are you jumping around for?

"Besides, in this house my Husband is the one making the money. What right do you have to order me around?"

When she heard that, Yang Fen got so angry her eyes sparked.

She smashed the vegetables onto me, grabbed my hair, and cursed.

"What is wrong with this cheap girl today? You rebelling against heaven?"

I yanked her arm off and mocked her.

"Oh, oh, oh. You are actually angry? It is just cooking. What are you so worked up for?"

Then I leapt off the bed.

I turned and went straight to the kitchen.

In less than half an hour, I had three dishes out. Tomato and egg. Cucumber and egg. Eggplant and potato.

Qin Xiao ate with obvious pleasure, but Yang Fen's brows stayed tight.

I picked up one Cucumber, put it in Yang Fen's bowl, and asked.

"Mom, why are you not eating?"

Yang Fen slapped her chopsticks on the table.

"You know I do not eat chili, and you still put chili in every dish. You did it on purpose, didn't you?"

I pointed at Qin Xiao and laughed.

"But your son loves spicy food. I cannot help it."
